Speed Is King

“I’m afraid I can’t take no for an answer, Princess Jessica of the Void Walkers.” Hasaro sighed. “Emperor Gatara would have my hide if I return to his side without you. Will you do this old man a favor and come with me? Your friends can come along too, if you’re worried about them.”

“I’m sorry, but my answer is still no.” Jessica Sands shook her head firmly.

“In that case, please forgive me for what I am about to do. I assure you, that I only have your well being at heart.” Hasaro bowed lightly and then exploded towards Jessica in a great burst of speed!

“You must think I’m a transparent figurine, old man.” Monkey King growled as he moved to block Hasaro.

All at once, razor sharp wind blades and scorching hot fire energy erupted from the rod in a synergistic attack that sought to cut Hasaro into pieces and set him aflame!

Ting!!

A pair of daggers appeared almost miraculously in Hasaro’s hands and a glow of pink energy parted Monkey King’s barrage of wind blades and fire energy like a hot knife cutting through butter.

The daggers brushed against Monkey King’s ferocious sweeping attack lightly and skillfully diverted his heavy handed attack upwards. It was a shrewd move that used the minimal amount of strength to nullify his opponent’s violent attack.

BAM!!

Monkey King smoothly used the momentum of his redirected attack to spin his rod and smashed its rear end onto Hasaro!

Hasaro was thrown forcefully backwards by Monkey King’s attack.

“You’re quite good, Monkey, I give you that. But I urge you to stand down, before I turn you into a dead mon-“

BOOM!!

Monkey King executed his Astral Steps and smashed the ground where Hasaro was standing at a mere split second ago.

ROAR!! BAAMMM!!

Monkey King let out a primal roar and swung his rod to the right! His powerful attack smashed a pillar apart into pieces and missed Hasaro by a hair.

“Courting death!” Hasaro fumed. But there was little that he could do except dodge. A single hit from that rod would certainly do grievous damage to him!

Monkey King was a veritable master of close combat, and he didn’t allow Hasaro to have even a moment’s respite to cast his powerful fire spells. His attacks came so fast and so powerfully that Hasaro was left unable to do anything but dodge.

While Monkey King was engaging Hasaro, the rest of the ambush team made their move.

There were thirty of them, all of them part of the hundred newcomers that had arrived with Jul’Taras.

“Oh my, I actually arrived with so many hostiles and not a single peep of information came to me from my people. They must either be slacking off, or someone high up is in cahoots with the enemy. Either way, they are in for a hell of a time when I get back!” Jul’Taras grimaced at the sight of thirty powerful looking warriors approaching them in formation.

They had shed their incredibly high-tech biosuits which allowed them to take a different physical form to reveal petite bodies fully wrapped in black, full-body aural armor. Their faces were covered with red, grinning demon masks and all of them were emitting high-tier King level auras.

“Biosuits and Aural armor. Fancy.” Jessica Sands eyes gleamed as she studied her opponents without a single trace of fear. In fact, if one looked at her carefully, one might even find a trace of… greed?! Shining in her eyes!

“Kill or take them hostage?” Jul’Taras asked Jessica.

“I doubt they rank very high in their organization. A true King level warrior would have no need of Aural armor and Aural blades. They’re probably fodder which are biochemically upgraded to King level. Let’s just kill them? But be careful not to break their Aural armor. They are worth a lot!” Jessica Sands replied.

“Agreed. Let’s do as you say then. Kill and loot.” Jul’Taras smiled a sweet smile that contrasted wildly with the ruthless words that had just left her mouth.

But before the girls could take action against the thirty demon warriors, a powerful blast of dragon fire shot out from the side and smashed into one of them!

CRACK!!

The demon warrior managed to raise an arm in time to block the dragon fire. But in the process, the Aural armor around her arm shimmered lightly, and began to show signs of breaking apart.

“HEY! BE CAREFUL!! YOU’RE RUINING THEIR ARMOR!! DON’T YOU KNOW THAT THEY ARE EXPENSIVE?!” Jessica Sands hollered angrily at the Golden Dragon who had moved to aid her.

“What in the world are you talking about?!” The Golden Dragon roared in shock and indignance. He was risking his life to help her, and yet she was screaming at him for destroying her enemy’s armor?

Poor Golden Dragon totally had no idea what was going on!

“DON’T DESTROY THEIR ARMOR, DAMN IT! DISABLE THEM SOME OTHER WAY!!” Jessica Sands shouted at the Golden Dragon.

“WHAT?? WHY?!” Golden Dragon was absolutely flabbergasted. Three of the enemy had peeled off from the main group and were advancing on him. They were holding weird bladeless sword hilts and were sprinting rapidly towards him.

“I am a Golden Dragon. DRAGON, damn you! Not some weak-ass support mage specializing in disabling the enemy! I don’t disable my enemies. I DESTROY them!” The Golden Dragon gathered his energy to his right fist and punched out at the approaching three demon warriors.

A thick, golden fist made up of pure energy shot out towards them.

BOOM!!!

The three demon warriors stood their ground and resisted the Golden Dragon’s powerful attacks with their armored arms.

“They are wearing Aural armor. AURAL! They are worth HALF a resource planet each! DON’T DESTROY THEM!” Jessica Sands yelled as she blinked away from her position to avoid a series of powerful sonic attacks.
