Speed Is King

392 Who would be faster?

392 Who would be faster?

"Hi guys! Good to see you all again!" Elliot said warmly to the trio.

Monkey King and Jul'Taras smiled back and greeted him cordially.

Elliot had grown to become a power that dwarfed them to the utmost, leaving them in the dust like a spaceship bursting out in full throttle vertically upwards and leaving behind a bunch of sad looking motorcycles who can't even dream of being able to do what the spaceship was born to do.

It felt slightly strange and rather awkward to talk to him now.

Of course, Elliot knew that, and he refused to let the situation remain that way.

Afterall, it could be said that he owed them his life, especially Monkey King.

"I am still the same boy whom you all had helped previously. I owe you too much to allow our relationship to be this awkward." Elliot said to them firmly. "No matter how strong I become, no matter if I become a God or a God-slayer, you three will forever be friends. So treat me as one!"

Jul'Taras and Monkey King nodded and smiled at him gratefully.

"God slayer?" Jul'Taras blinked once and immediately suspected something. "That's a very interesting choice of words. Very specific, even."

"God slayer. So you found a God and killed him?" Monkey King teased him slightly.

When Elliot nodded his head…

Boom.

Boom.

Two jaws hit the floor.

"You found a God and killed him?? Wow! Are my Ascendant Runes that powerful?" Jessica Sands cried out excitedly. Out of the three, only Jessica Sands didn't have any sense of awkwardness with Elliot.

After all, Elliot's near-vertical rise in strength was in huge part due to her Ascendant Runes. Her self worth with regard to Elliot was rock solid, and deservedly so.

"Yes. We killed a Blytoros of the Shadow Realm." Elliot said with a sigh.

"A Blytoros? There's more than one??" Jessica Sands' eyes widened with surprise. "Wow! This is interesting! Tell us what happened!"

With a deep sigh, Elliot went on to bring them up to date about the situation.

"Elliot had the idea to break through to Emperor Level to unlock new levels of strengths to be able to deal with the emergency. However, he wants to use the Ascendant Runes as much as possible." Elise Sands said. "Jessica, have you made any progress? How many Ascendant Runes do you have now?"

"Ooooo. Perfect timing. I didn't have time to create new runes, but due to a sudden brainwave I had, I was just telling the rest that I had discovered a brand new application of Ascendant Runic Principles which could result in a much more powerful Ascendant Rune by at least 50%! I've created the keys to the new Runes, and I am calling them… Deep Ascendant Runes! Here! Have a look!" Jessica Sands sent a device to Elliot and Elise who immediately sank their senses into them.

"Hmmmmmm. Indeed, these new applications are worthy to be called Deep Ascendancy." Elliot's face scrunched up into a deep frown. "But the ratio of power gain to increase in complexity is…"

"Atrocious." Elise Sands said grimly. "I have no idea how the new Deep Ascendant Runes work at all."

"Hee hee. Yes, raising the power output of such an already deeply powerful rune isn't as easy as cranking up the power source. Like building a 2 storey building and a 20 storey building, the complexity would increase more than just 10 times.

And that is merely with regard to being able to support weight and resist the pressure from wind!

Raising the power level of an Ascendant Rune by fifty percent requires an increase in complexity by… one billion percent!" Jessica Sands said solemnly.

"One billion percent!! No wonder I can't make heads or tails out of these gibberish." Elise Sands muttered as she returned the "present" to Jessica Sands. "No wonder you didn't bother giving the present to me. You knew I wouldn't understand."

"Ah? Hahahaha! Yes! Exactly! Hee hee!" Jessica Sands laughed awkwardly and scratched her head.

"Fine. Elliot. You go ahead and master the keys to the upgraded runes, and prepare to attack the boundary to Emperor Level. Once you've mastered the Runes, I will teach you a better way to cross the boundary than merely drawing the runes in the form of a river.

How long do you need to master the new runes?" Elise Sands asked.

"Hmmmm. Ten days. I will need three days to master the new keys. And another ten to make the edit to the existing runes." Elliot said thoughtfully.

"Jessica. Can you complete all twenty four runes by then?" Elise Sands asked.

"Probably. Just make sure I don't get disturbed." Jessica Sands said.

"Alright. For the next twenty days, the two of you shall have complete peace, and then after that, Elliot you will get another ten days to master the new runes Jessica completed. In exactly one month, I will teach all of you a new method to cross the boundary from King to Emperor. And hopefully after that… We will have a new Emperor level powerhouse among us." Elise Sands looked at Elliot meaningfully.

But he didn't respond.

He was already deep in thought, studying the new keys that Jessica Sands created. As his mind traversed the wondrous mysteries of Jessica Sands' Deep Ascendant Runes, a strange aura started to diffuse out from him.

"That's fast." Jessica Sands couldn't help but remark in surprise. "It took me quite some time to be able to produce that Deep Ascendancy Aura. I better continue my research. At this rate he'll finish way before the ten days."

Elise Sands nodded and quickly made all the arrangements for the coming month.

They were in the Gaming Commission's outpost near Planet Earth, and although it wasn't the stronghold of any power worthy of mention, with Elise Sands there, it had automatically became the seat of power of the entire universe.

After one month, with the qualitative increase in strength that Elliot would show, they should have a fighting chance against the Wild Energy Blytoros.

But the only question was, whose rise in power would be faster, the Wild Energy Blytoros, or Elliot?
