Speed Is King

377 I told you so

The spell was horrendously difficult to set up because Elliot was making impromptu modifications as he weaved the spell.

“Piercing Flame Particles all around to make them more combustible sounds like a good idea.” Elliot muttered as he weaved his twenty millionth rune.

“Double flame effect. Triple energy output. Quintuple damage. Combustible boost, another quintuple fire-based damage.” On and on Elliot weaved, until even Elise Sands started to frown.

“That’s a lot of runes.” She commented lightly.

“This isn’t our realm. The more the merrier.” Elliot shrugged thoughtlessly. “Plus I am curious just how big an explosion my maximum power could do. I will stop once I hit the maximum number of runes my modified Spell Framework could fit.”

Elise Sands nodded but her frown remained on her face.

She had mastered one Ascendant Rune, and she knew for a fact that the Spell Frameworks of Ascendant Runes were mind blowingly massive.

If normal Spell Frameworks were a glass of water, then the ones made from the Ascendant Runes were like oceans!

After another five minutes of intense silence, Elliot was finally done.

In a real battle, he probably wouldn’t have the opportunity to use such a powerful spell without more practice.

It was too hard to set up!

However, it was also horrendously simple to cast once it was done.

Elliot merely clenched his fist, and the six sides of the cube seemed to wink out of existence as they smashed towards each other with unmatched speed and completely unstoppable power!

The Shadow Primals and Saint had no real defenses set up, and were totally taken off guard, allowing Elliot’s ridiculously overpowered spell to achieve completion smoothly without any resistance at all.

Every single life form and matter was almost instantly mashed into their atomic particles, and then, the atoms were forcibly fused together as well, releasing an explosion that was unlike anything the Shadow Realm had ever witnessed.

CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE!

There was so much energy being produced that the very fabric of space and reality started to crack, explode and show signs of imminent collapse!

“Time to go!” Elliot grabbed Elise and brought her as far away as he could with his Ascendant Rune powered blink spell which easily penetrated the spaceloop set up by Blytoros.

Blink!

They were out!

However, a rapidly growing star seemed to be expanding at blinding speed towards them!

“Oh my God!! What the-” Elise Sands’ cry of surprise was cut short by an even louder cry of anger.

“DAMN YOU INTRUDERS!!! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE??? WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!!!!!” Blytoros roared in utter rage!

Elise Sands did not waste any time and instantly brought them to safety by piercing through the Realm Barrier and back to their own universe.

Poof!

They appeared in the ringing silence and pitch black darkness of their universe.

And within its freezing but extremely safe from nuclear explosion embrace.

“That was singularly the most powerful outburst of destructive energy I have ever seen in my very, very long life. Not even giant stars going supernova could produce even a fraction of the energy of that explosion earlier! Ridiculous. Ridiculous!!” Elise Sands panted slightly at the highly stressful few seconds that had just passed.

“Yes. I was expecting a powerful explosion, but that… was a little bit too powerful.” Even Elliot was slightly shaken.

Elise Sands swallowed her saliva and took a deep breath to restore her composure.

“Do… Do you think we managed to kill Blytoros?” Elliot asked hopefully.

“No. Blytoros had realm-shifting capabilities. I distinctly sensed him phasing out into a slightly different realm to completely avoid the explosion. But apparently, he didn’t do anything to save that Star System, or even the nearby systems.” Elise Sands said calmly, her previous loss of control already a thing of distant past.

“I doubt he could do anything to save the planets around him at that moment. So maybe it is couldn’t. But we won’t know until we go and check it out ourselves.” Elise Sands said in her emotionless voice.

“Let’s give it a few minutes for the energies to dissipate. In fact, let’s wait for an entire hour! That way, we would be safe from any residue explosions that might still be happening.” Elliot suggested.

“An hour is good. But it is not to avoid the residue explosions… but it is to avoid the battles that was bound to happen between Blytoros and… the other realm’s warriors.” Elise Sands replied with a slightly grim look on her face.

“What? Other Realm warriors??” Elliot was caught slightly stunned by her words.

“Yes, that was exactly why I was so surprised. The sheer power of that explosion had ripped a hole in the Realm Barrier between a Shadow Realm and an adjacent realm. ” Elise Sands said grimly.

“Adjacent realm… I didn’t accidentally unleash the Realm of Sin on the Shadow Realm, right?” Elliot gulped.

“I have no idea.” Elise Sands said. “I didn’t manage to catch which realm barrier was ripped apart, and what type of beasts were unleashed upon the Shadow Realm. All I realized was, the moment the realm barrier went down, beasts started to enter.

Of course they were instantly turned to dust, and so would most of the beasts within the immediate vicinity of the realm barrier hole. But eventually the energy blast would dissipate, and the others would make their way into the Shadow Realm. And if it was the Realm of Sin, and if one of their Gods were nearby…” Elise Sands merely allowed her words to trail.

Elliot was dumbstruck as he swallowed his saliva nervously. Of course he was shocked at the fact that there was an “adjacent realm” that wasn’t the Realm of Sin. But he was mostly silent due to the final part of Elise Sands’ final sentence.

It would be really bad if a God of Sin crossed over to the Shadow Realm.

Really bad.

There was silence for a moment until…

“I told you so.” Gilgamar said.
