Speed Is King

260 Father of all dragons

“Just three small sized drones? Interesting! Very interesting!” Elliot said enthusiastically.

He had long learnt not to judge the value of things by their sizes and numbers.

A single drop of Dragon Blood Essence was extremely small and took up a million times less space than a spaceship.

But its value was a thousand times higher than the spaceship! In fact, if given the choice to choose between a Dragon Blood Essence and a thousand spaceships, Elliot would probably choose the Dragon Blood Essence.

“The best type power is the type that you completely own. A thousand spaceships would be controlled by a thousand spaceship commanders. And who can say if those thousand commanders are loyal to me or not? And even if they are loyal, who can say if they are competent enough to be effective?” Elliot reasoned in his heart as he approached the first drone.

He stretched his hand out to unlock the drone.

However, before he even touched it, Jessica suddenly shouted.

“Stop! Let me open it instead!” Jessica leapt ahead and pushed Elliot aside!

“Yes, big bro. Your luck is really bad, remember? You-“

“Got a super powerful beast system which I used to save you two girls and gain a power that allows me to fight even Hegemons at King level?” Elliot chuckled. “My luck has completely changed. Don’t worry! I will definitely get good stuff for us.”

Jessica glanced at Jennifer and raised one eyebrow, and they unleashed a series of highspeed, complicated twinspeak which only both of them could understand.

“Should we allow big bro to open the drone? Remember how he lost one hundred times in a row in scissor-paper-stone? His luck was really bad!” Jessica’s raised eyebrow seemed to say.

“I know, right? But what he said is true too. His luck seemed to have improved a lot. Maybe we should just let him try this time.” Jennifer’s contemplative look seemed to say.

“Let’s just let him try opening one drone? If it’s bad, we can open the other two. I mean, we did get an awesome brother like him, so our luck is pretty awesome.” Jessica’s very slight nod seemed to say.

“You’re right. We are indeed very lucky to have him. Alright. Let’s do it. Having two awesome drones is not to bad anyway ” Jennifer’s blink seemed to say.

“Alright big bro. Why don’t you try opening one. We’ll evaluate your luck with the results.” Jessica smiled and took one step back to allow Elliot access to the first drone.

“Hehehe. Don’t worry. I’ll get such an awesome reward for us that you two girls will definitely make me open up every single drone from now on!” Elliot proclaimed confidently as he unlocked the first drone.

Pshhhh.

The small drone which was the size of a human head opened its main compartment door.

A vial.

A jewelry box.

And a lump of metal.

All three siblings stared at the three items curiously.

Elliot swallowed his saliva and gingerly took the information pad for the vial.

“Please let it be… HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!! GOOD! VERY GOOD! VERY VERY GOOD!!!! HA HA HA HA!” He laughed out loud with the purest of joy and jubilation!

Jessica and Jennifer shared a glance.

“It seems like he’s pretty lucky.” Jessica’s glance seemed to say.

“And kind of crazy.” Jennifer’s little wry smile seemed to say.

Jessica stretched out her hand with a helpless sigh and forcefully calmed down her elder brother who had broken into a joyful jig on the spot, and grabbed the information pad from him.

She wanted to know what could make her usually calm big bro to become so crazy excited!

“A vial of… Red Dragon Blood Essence?” Jessica read the information title aloud.

“Yes, that’s right! And with it, I can finally complete my Red Dragon Transformation!! Hahaha! I truly didn’t expect to be able to complete it so soon!”

Elliot’s desire to get stronger was so deeply ingrained within him, and the results that Elliot got from ingesting the other Dragon Blood Essences were so powerful, that the combination of both made him hunger for even more Dragon Blood Essence with a deep, soul-drenching intensity that he absolutely didn’t know he was capable of having.

The moment he saw the drones, the possibility of receiving another Red Dragon Blood Essence from the Game Masters appeared in his mind. And it was all he could do to put that possibility aside and manage his expectations so that he wouldn’t be disappointed if he didn’t get it.

And as it turned out, his deepest desire at that moment came true!

Talk about Advanced Stat: Fortune!

Or… was it not fortune, but a deliberate gift from the Chairman?

Back in the Gaming Commission’s Headquarters, Chairman El’Taras had returned to his office with Director Sands to have a private discussion about Jessica Sands and her Ascendant Runes.

The rest of the Directors had remained on the meeting room to continue their discussion on how to handle the growing interest their clans and backings have on Elliot.

At that moment, both Director Sands and Chairman El’Taras were completely distracted, and were both looking at Elliot unboxing his rewards.

“Another Red Dragon Blood Essence? That’s really, really mighty generous of-” Director Sands began.

“Who the heck do you think I am? The Father of All Dragons who has an infinite amount of Dragon Blood Essences?” El’Taras snapped irritably at Director Sands.

Director Sands merely raised an eyebrow in surprise at his Chairman’s uncharacteristic show of irritation. Chairman El’Taras had always been the epitome of the phrase “calm and collected”. For him to be this irritated was highly unusual indeed.

And a split second later, Director Sands’ eyes widened very slightly in surprise as he realized the significance of Chairman’s El’Taras irritation.

“So I take it that the Red Dragon Blood Essence is part of the randomized selection by the system.” Director Sands said in a calm voice that hid the rising surprise in his heart perfectly.
