Speed Is King

The first to engage the enemy was Red and his highly modified Transport/Fighter. It had grown considerably in size compared to the cute and small ball-sized meat grinder that it was when he first met Elliot. At that moment, it was the size of a huge motorbike and it was no longer spherical, but a strange lopsided and elongated cylinder.

Serrated spikes protruded from literally everywhere and moved erratically all around the ship. And to make things worse, it did not travel with its pointed end facing forward. Instead, it traveled at a very disturbing angle with its pointed end pointing half diagonally downwards and slightly to the rear.

Whatever could be said of Red’s design skills, one thing was for sure. It sucked big time in terms of looks.

But Elliot didn’t have any complaints. Oh none at all.

Especially when his strange contraption fired a strange yellow beam that literally, physically MELTED the first Forsaken Warrior it met.

A full sized, three meter tall freak of an alien bug just broke apart and splashed down to the ground!

Right behind him were Elliot’s other flying units. Rom, Aldera, Frosty and the six Armored Kaijins unleashed their most powerful attacks and waded into the mass of Forsaken Warriors like so many searing hot stones plunging into ice water.

Everywhere around them, Lord and King level alike, the Forsaken Warriors welcomed them with their death screams as fearsome fireblasts, icebeams and slashes reaped their lives.

Behind Elliot’s air force were the bulk of his melee DPS. Wu Kong, Winter, and Rex smashed into the enemy line and skilfully left a trail of dead and dying as they charged after their brothers.

Wu Kong’s powerful and ornately designed red rod which was gifted by Red was particularly murderous in that battle. In Wu Kong’s hands, that rod turned into a bloodthirsty demon which took a life with every hit.

Behind the DPS were the slightly out of position tanks in the form of two huge armored bears. Brock and Ellie were slightly slower than their lighter brethren and could only do clean up duty after them.

“Why are we cleaning up after them? I want to be in front and kill the strongest enemies too!” Ellie complained to her grandfather.

“Quit complaining.” Brock growled as he crushed the head of a screaming Forsaken Warrior with a powerful overhead swipe.

BONK!

“We’re huge and make for big targets.” Brock said wisely.

BONK! Another Forsaken Warrior collapsed.

“Clean up duty is perfect for us.”

BONK! And another.

“Plus, there are still the summoned beasts behind us, so we’re not the last group.”

BONK! And another.

“And who’s to say that we won’t meet strong enemies?”

BONK! And another.

“Oh, you mean we might be able to meet strong enemies even in this position?” Ellie cried out hopefully.

Novel BONK! A Forsaken Warrior collapsed under her powerful swipe as well.

BONK!

“Okay gramps!” Ellie shouted gleefully.

BONK!

With that, the two tanks continued their rampage. Although Ellie called in “clean up duty”, it was rather inaccurate as there were also killing full-health Forsaken Warriors. There were just too many of them for the air units and the melee DPS to kill.

Behind them, Elliot’s summoned beasts engaged the remaining Forsaken Warriors and locked them in combat, preventing them from attacking the other beasts from the rear. All in all, Elliot was completely dominating over Divine Fighter’s Forsaken Warriors!

Seeing his beasts casually rip apart the powerful Lord and King level Forsaken Warriors, Elliot couldn’t help but feel slightly surprised. He knew that his beasts were incredibly powerful, especially the two Specter Wolves and Frosty.

But the pure devastation that they were unleashing upon the Forsaken Warriors was just too absurd. He could understand Lord level Forsaken Warriors falling to a single powerful attack from them. But for King level warriors to fall so easily too? It was completely outrageous.

When had King level warriors become so weak?

Suddenly, a thought struck him and he whirled his head up to look at the red dragon energy that had fully awakened above him.

True enough, his eyes were glowing.

The red dragon was completely vibrant at that point, and its wings were completely unfurled. It looked like it would take off in flight at any moment!

And upon careful study, Elliot realized that an invisible force was emanating from him that was boosting the attack of his beasts and suppressing that of the Forsaken Warriors. Not only that, the invisible force was also pressing down upon the enemy, causing them to slow down enormously, and allowing Elliot’s beasts to land killing blows at them as though they were unguarded sitting ducks.

“Just what in the world is “Energy Awakening” and how in the world did I get it?” Elliot wondered. “Although that red dragon energy is coming out from my body, it feels as though it’s a separate entity from me. Apart from sensing its presence very intimately, I had absolutely no idea what it does and how it is doing it.”

Elliot circulated more of his Purgatory Fire Energy around his body, and almost immediately, he could sense that the red dragon above him started to become more alive. The invisible force he was emanating also strengthened slightly.

“It’s definitely a manifestation of my Purgatory Fire Energy.” Elliot concluded. “But how that energy is able to transform into the invisible force is completely beyond me.”

At that moment, Divine Fighter finally broke his silence.

“I see. You’re actually a Dragon Controller. To think there’s one such as you living in this planet. Consider this my bad luck meeting you here. I concede this battle.” Divine Fighter said quietly.

He waved his hand and dismissed the remaining Forsaken Warriors that had not succumbed to Elliot’s beasts.

However, would Elliot just allow him to withdraw from battle like that?
