Lucas looked at the spirit beast's corpse on the ground before shaking his head.

'I will store this corpse as its entire body is filled with the materials for the weapon refining.'

Storing the corpse of the rank 3 inferior oxbeast, Lucas moved away from that place.

In the Viscount grounds of the Myriad primordial forest, Lucas was moving along the border of the Viscount grounds while searching for a suitable rank 3 spirit beast.

Because he had to assassinate a rank 3 spirit beast to become a tier 1 lesser assassin.

However, he was unable to find a suitable rank 3 spirit beast.

Nevertheless, he would either assassinate or kill any rank 3 spirit beasts he encountered to improve his skills.

'It's been six hours since I started the mission. I need to find a shelter before the sunsets.'

While searching for a suitable spirit beast, Lucas muttered to himself.

'But, before that, I have to become a lesser assassin as it will increase my chances of survival even more.'

If he became a lesser assassin, Lucas would gain an assassin skill. With an assassin skill, he would make good use of his night stay in the viscount grounds.

So, he increased his speed and continued his search.

'A three rank 3 wolf chimeras? I think I can become a tier 4 lesser knight after killing them.'

Lucas saw three wolf chimeras resting in front of the remains of a spirit beast as though they were having a delicious meal.

Looking at them, Lucas decided to increase his knight rank.

'Time to change the weapons.'

The two rank 3 daggers in his hands disappeared before two rank 3 short swords appeared in their place.

As soon as he swapped the weapons in his head, Lucas jumped down from the tree as he slashed his short swords at them.

'Ding,

        The host killed a rank 3 wolf chimera and gained 10 sovereign points.

However, he was able to kill only one wolf chimera as the other two escaped his attacks before growling at him.

"Huh? You have good reaction speed; however, it is not enough."

'Fiery rage'

With a slight smile on his face, he cast a basic spell which took him 50 seconds.

During that time, the wolf chimeras were in a state of hesitation. So, Lucas had enough time to cast the spell.

With the help of the spell, Lucas' battle prowess temporarily increased by 20 percent as he rushed at them.

Both the wolf chimeras didn't stand a chance in front of Lucas as they got killed by him.

'Ding,

        The host killed two rank 3 wolf chimeras and gained 20 sovereign points.

        The host's short sword mastery has reached the full experience points to break into the tier 4 lesser knight. (4000 / 4000 experience points.).

'Finally, the system notification I am waiting for has come.'

Looking at the latest system notification, Lucas revealed a satisfied smile on his face; however, it froze in the middle, when he saw the next system notification.

'Ding,

        The host's 'Knight's talent' is still at 'Baron-level'. Please upgrade it to the 'Viscount-level' to increase your rank any further.

'Damn it...I forget about this.'

Lucas was a little dissatisfied; however, he knew without talent, he could not increase his strength.

That's the reason why the guilds or families recruit the young ones with high talent because they would reach high ranks as long as they worked hard.

Moreover, with time, their initial talent will also upgrade; however, if someone wants an instant upgrade in their talent, they have to find the specific crystal for themselves.

'Looks like I need to keep my Knight training on hold for a while before focusing on the other two professions until my Knight talent is upgraded.'

Lucas's talents in his two other fighting professions like 'Mage' and 'Assassin' are Viscount and Earl respectively. So, he would not be limited to tier 3 Lesser Mage or tier 3 Lesser Assassin.

With that thought in his mind, Lucas stored the three corpses in the space ring before moving away from that place.

Time continued to pass and one hour passed in a flash.

Lucas was getting tired of his search for a suitable rank 3 spirit beast for his 'Assassin sacrifice'.

'Huh?'

As though the heavens could not see his continuous search for a suitable spirit beast for sacrificing, Lucas saw hundreds of small rank 3 spirit beasts flying in the air.

Since Lucas was currently in the Viscount grounds, it was not uncommon to see that.

'Looks like I found a perfect spirit beast to sacrifice.'

Looking at the colony of the red-coloured bats in the sky, Lucas was not worried; instead, he was excited before he finally found what he was searching for.

'These Vampire bats only hunt at night. So, no wonder I didn't see them even though I came to this place multiple times in the past.'

During the last six days, Lucas had entered the Viscount grounds a dozen times; however, he didn't stay for more than an hour and he came mostly in the daytime.

Currently, the sun has almost come down and the Vampire bats came out of their caves to hunt for food.

'Even though these vampire bats are rank 3, a single vampire bat can't even win against a strong rank 2 spirit beast; however, when they stay in a colony, they could even dry such a rank 4 spirit beast dry.'

Lucas was not in a hurry to rush into the colony of the vampire bats as he started planning.

If it was just a swift kill, Lucas would have not thought much; however, after sacrificing a spirit beast, he had to stay in a single place for a while to get blessed by the assassin skill.

So, he was thinking of a plan to increase his chances of surviving.

'I can't use any skill to trap one of the Vampire bats before killing it because it would be not considered as assassination.'

'I can use the 'Lightning bullet' to assassinate a vampire bat, but it will only make the entire colony of vampire bats come after it and I will not have enough time to get the skill.'

'Should I just give up on these vampire bats and search for other spirit beasts?'

Soon, Lucas thought of all the possible ways for him to complete his rank upgrade mission; however, he was unable to find a way where he could survive it without a stroke of huge luck.

In the end, he even thought of choosing another spirit beast to sacrifice.

'It is such a waste to leave such a good spirit beast.'

Deep down, Lucas didn't want to choose another spirit beast to sacrifice for his rank upgrade.

'Wait a second. I am yet to check the new items in the Sovereign shop.'

A few hours back, his sovereign shop had upgraded the items in it as it's been a week already. So, he opened the sovereign shop to see whether any item would help him or not.
