Sovereign of the Firmaments

Chapter 65 - No Talent?

"Place your hands on the crystal ball."

Manager Rean looked at Lucas before looking at Evan and asked him to place his hands on the crystal.

Right now, even Manager Rean could not do anything because Sir Tyler was the one who personally asked Evan's talent should be evaluated today.

'Damn it...without power, I can't even walk away from here with my brother.'

Lucas guessed that Evan would be awakening a high-level talent just like their father and he was sure that he would be taken away by Sir Tyler.

In the end, he could only clutch his fists as he looked at what kind of talent his little brother would awaken.

"Swoosh"

Soon, the crystal ball shone with a bright white light that blinded everyone for a few seconds.

"What is that?"

Even though the light was blinding everyone's eyes, Lucas tried to open them and checked the crystal ball before the white light could disappear.

In the crystal ball, he saw something that looked like an infinity symbol and it disappeared along with the bright white light.

However, the crystal ball was still lit up with white light inside it.

'What was that light?'

'I have never seen something like that in my life?'

'Did he have some kind of heaven-defying talent or what?'

For a second, everyone thought that Evan had a heaven-defying talent; however, when they looked at the crystal ball, they looked at Evan with a face full of pity.

'What? Why is it white colour?'

As for Lucas, he was shocked when he saw the crystal ball and worried about his brother.

"Evan from the Hellmore family has no talent in anything."

Soon, Manager Rean's words resounded in the entire surroundings, making Evan's face lose all the colour as it turned pale.

'What a waste of time?'

As for Sir Tyler, who had a polite look on his face, cursed Evan for wasting his time because he was feeling that Evan must be having some good talent and that's the reason why his brother and Manager Rean was trying to be secretive.

As the guild leader of the adventurer's guild, Sir Tyler knew that managers of the guild would secretly evaluate the talents if they were paid the right amount.

However, right now, after evaluating, he felt he had wasted his time and without looking at Evan, he just left the stage.

"Evan, let's go."

Lucas hurriedly rushed towards the stage and picked Evan before going back to the manor along with Bernard.

"Brother, in this life, am I going to be a weakling for the rest of my life?"

Along the way, Evan asked Lucas in a low voice, apparently, the talent evaluation ceremony hit him heavily.

"No. I will try my best to find the talent crystals for whatever profession you like."

Lucas didn't think much as he replied to his little brother with a gentle look on his face.

"I heard talent crystals are quite rare, big brother; however, I trust you."

After hearing his brother's words, Evan revealed a slight smile; however, from a look, anyone could say that it was just a forced smile.

"Do you really believe your big brother?"

This time, Lucas asked Evan with a serious look, making Evan a little scared; however, Evan nodded his head because in this world, the one whom he trusts the most is his big brother Lucas.

"I don't want you to think about it and I will take care of your talent. Promise me you will do that."

Soon, Lucas asked Evan to promise him not to worry about it.

For a 10-year-old kid, finding out that he didn't have a talent in any profession would be quite a blow. Moreover, Evan and Lucas' father had a talent of Duke's level.

So, it gave another blow; however, Lucas wanted to take that Burden off his little brother's shoulders.

"I will do it, brother."

Seeing how worried his brother was about him, Evan could not help but cry as he promised Lucas.

"Don't cry, Evan. Don't cry."

Lucas took Evan closer to his embrace as he lightly patted his head.

'I don't know whether I should cry at the talentless young master or should I laugh at how close both the brothers are. The Heavens are really playing my Hellmore family.'

From the side, Bernard, who was observing everything, looked at the sky with a face filled with mixed emotions.

Soon, they reached the room and Lucas stayed with Evan in his room until he completely fell asleep.

'I hope he can come out of this thing soon. Until then, I have to find a talent crystal.'

Other than hoping, he could only search for the talent crystal to make his little brother come out of the shock he received today.

'System, what are the chances of a talent crystal appearing in the sovereign shop?'

While coming out of the room, Lucas silently asked the system because finding a talent crystal in this firmament or even his previous firmament which was ranked fifth among the firmaments, was impossible.

So, his only chance of finding a talent crystal was from the sovereign shop in which new items will be upgraded every week.

'Ding,

It is very very low. Probably close to zero.

'Ding,

However, as long as the host increases the shop's level to a very high one, he can unlock the 'Request item' feature in the Sovereign shop.

In reply to his question, Lucas got two system notifications in his head.

'What should I do to achieve that?'

Lucas's thinking speed was not good after seeing his little brother's talent evaluation. So, he didn't want to waste much time thinking about it; instead, he directly asked the system.

'Ding,

The Sovereign shop's level will be upgraded by the number of sovereign points spent in the shop and the complete set of weekly items bought by the host.

'Okay'

Lucas nodded his head and opened the sovereign shop and checked for the upgrade option.

Besides the words 'Sovereign shop', there was a small plus symbol which he touched.

'Ding,

Level 2 sovereign shop requirements.

1) spend sovereign points (310/ 1000).

2) Buy all the weekly items x 3.

Soon, a halographic screen appeared in front of him along with the system notification in his head informing him about the upgrade requirements for the level 2 sovereign shop.

'Looks like it will take quite a while even if I have the remaining 690 sovereign points with me. Not to mention, I only have 40 sovereign points at the moment.'

Lucas felt like he had to find another way to get his hands on the talent crystal.

'At the same time, I need to collect another 70 sovereign points by the end of this week to buy the other two items from this week.'

Even though upgrading the sovereign shop takes time, Lucas didn't think he should not upgrade it; instead, he wanted to upgrade it.

Because compared to a level 1 sovereign shop, a level 2 sovereign shop would be better, right?

'For now, I will take some rest.'

Lucas was tired as he didn't take proper rest from the time he came out of the dungeon. So, he decided to take the rest and go to the 'Myriad primordial forest' tomorrow to collect the sovereign points.

'Before sleeping, I will just take a look at my interface and decide which one I should be focusing on tomorrow.'

As soon as he decided to start his hunting tomorrow morning, Lucas went to his bed; however, he thought of planning which spells he should focus on as he could use more spells.

'Interface'

With a single word, the system sent him a halographic screen with his complete details on it.

'Ding,

'Six basic spells and one intermediate spell. Not bad; however, I am still just an ant in front of the powerful Knights and Mages.'

Lucas felt he had quite a spell haul from the dungeon; however, he was still not satisfied because he was still not powerful enough.

'Even though levelling up the intermediate spell could increase my battle prowess to the next level, I can't do it as I will be emptying my magic power in just two uses.'

'So, Fiery rage and Basic heal would be a good choice and after that Earth Spike. Nevertheless, I can't forget the mighty 'Thunder spell' which only cost 8 units of magic power.'

Basically, he felt like he needed to upgrade all his basic spells and before he could realize it, he fell asleep.

Next day morning.

'Time to check on Evan.'

As soon as he woke up, Lucas thought of his little brother and decided to check on him.

"Evan, are you awake?"

He saw Evan's doors were wide open and entered the room; however, he didn't find Evan.

'He must be outside.'

Lucas came out of the room and searched for Evan; however, he didn't find Evan anywhere in the manor, making him anxious.

'Where did he go?'

Lucas asked everyone living in the manor; however, no one saw Evan in the manor.

"Who was guarding the manor yesterday night?"

After searching for an hour and not finding Evan, Lucas seriously called the young squires who were on guard duty yesterday night.

"Family head, I was with them and I didn't see anyone enter the manor."

Bernard replied to Lucas while kneeling on the ground because if something happened to Evan, it would be his fault.

"Damn it...what is the use of having you all."

Lucas was so angry as he lost control and shouted at Porter.

"What should I do? Where did he go? Has someone kidnapped him?"

While many thoughts were flashing in his head, Lucas' thoughts stopped when he thought of the possibility of getting kidnapped.

'In this firmament, only that Tyler bastard was capable of doing something like that even when the old man Bernard was guarding the manor.'

Lucas went back to Evan's room to see whether the kidnapper left anything in the room.

Even though chances were less, Lucas wanted to check the room and shockingly he found something that made his eyes wide open.

'Th..this is...'

There was a scroll on the bed with an infinity symbol which he had seen yesterday in the crystal ball while evaluating Evan's talents.
