'Why is he here?'

Lucas saw someone that he was not expecting outside the barrier.

He was none other than the guild of the Silverstone's branch of the assassin guild, Ghost snake.

Even though Lucas had not met him personally, he saw him once in the auction house and he also knew that he escaped the moment the barrier was broken.

"You can come in."

Lucas knew there must be some reason for why he came here. So, Lucas gave permission to him into the barrier since he was invincible inside the barrier.

Also, there were some things he wanted to ask him regarding the assassination attempt on him and Beck in the past.

"Family head Lucas, I want to join the Hellmore family."

The moment he entered the town, Ghost snake fell to his knees and said his request.

"Huh?"

Lucas frowned and thought, 'Is it some kind of joke or the assassin guild is planning something?'

"I know you must be thinking that the assassin guild is planning something and you are right, it is planning something. Planning to erase the entire Silverstone town."

The previous guild master of one of the assassin guild's branches, Ghost snake, could guess what Lucas was thinking in his head. So, he hurriedly said a few more things.

"As long as you make me your subordinate and let me join your family, I will swear my absolute loyalty to you and the Hellmore family."

'What the hell?'

Lucas was still in confusion about Ghost snake's actions; however, he was sure about one thing and it was that Ghost snake was telling the truth.

"And do you really think I have to let you become my subordinate to know what the assassin guild was planning?"

Even though he didn't know what the assassin guild was planning to do to Silverstone town yet, Lucas was confident in his torture methods to pull out any information from anyone.

Moreover, he also has a spell 'Soul search' to find what the other person was hiding. So, he didn't bother whether he killed the Ghost snake or not.

"If you do not let me join your family, then I will not say anything about the assassin guild's plan. Also, if you are planning to torture me to get the information, I am sorry to inform you that, it is not going to work."

Ghost snake didn't know any fear because the moment he entered Silverstone town, he already decided to risk his life.

"Is that so?"

Lucas scoffed when he heard Ghost snake' words and decided to use the [soul search] spell on him.

'As for whether he lives or dies, it is not my problem.'

Lucas was not a saint, to begin with. So, he didn't give much value to others other than his family and subordinates.

However, when it comes to his life or his subordinates' life, he would, of course, think about his life and those closest to him.

'I don't want to let a wolf join my family.'

Even though his [fighter sense] was not showing any abnormalities, Lucas didn't want to take any risks.

With that thought in his mind, Lucas chanted the spell for [Soul Search].

'Is this a soul space? It is so big and there are so many memories.'

This was Lucas' first time using the [Soul search] spell. So, he was marvelled at how big the soul space was.

While looking at the memories around him, Lucas touched the memory that was closest to him.

'Nameless bastard, are you looking for death?'

A brute looking middle-aged man kicked a skinny 10-year-old boy and shouted at him.

'Sir, please give me my last year's pay for working in your inn. I need to buy some medicinal pills for my mother.'

The skinny boy begged the middle-aged man for his salary as his face was completely covered in tears.

'Bastard, letting you eat in my inn for your work is already a generous thing to do and you are asking for your pay?'

The brute whipped the skinny boy and threw him out of his inn.

  'It's already been five years since that crazy bitch went into a coma.'

'That bitch didn't even name her own son. So, why does he care about her?'

'I think the reason for his mother to turn crazy was because of the assassin guild.'

'Yeah. I heard they drugged her and enjoyed making her turn crazy. Later, she gave birth to him.'

'I thought he was going to die but he survived.'

As the skinny boy walked back to his shabby tent, he heard all the whispers from the surrounding crowd.

The skinny boy clenched his fists as he cursed the entire world.

Lucas frowned when he finished seeing a small memory.

'The world is always cruel to the weak.'

Nevertheless, Lucas didn't think much because the world, be it his previous world or the current world, both are the same, where the weak are always crushed by the strong.

'How should I find the memories I want to search?'

There were millions of memories and Lucas knew it was impossible for him to search all the memories. Also, he knew he had a limited time to stay in the soul space before being kicked out by Ghost snake' consciousness.

All of a sudden, the system notification rang in his head and Lucas followed the system's advice.

'Assassin guild's plan to destroy Silverstone town.'

As soon as Lucas thought about it, millions of the memory bits disappeared in an instant and a single memory bit appeared in front of him.

'This is so good.'

Lucas liked the 'search function' as it reduced a lot of work for him.
