Sovereign of the Firmaments

          Spirit beast name:- Haunting Ethereals.

          Strength:- Low-level rank 4, Mid-level rank 4 and High-level rank 4.

          Information:- These spirit beasts always stay in a group of three and they will haunt their prey before killing them.

'Can I even injure them?'

The three floating beings around him looked like ghosts and after learning about him, Lucas felt it was impossible for him to touch because they look transparent.

'Ding,

          An emergency mission is generated.

'Ding,

          Mission Name:- Escape the Haunting Ethereals.

          Mission Reward:- A random advanced spell.

          Mission Failure:- Death

          Mission Information:- Even Higher Knights or Mages can't escape the triad of Haunting Ethereals. So, the host has to try his best to escape them. If you fail to escape, then you will be killed by them.

'What? These spirit beasts are that powerful?'

Lucas frowned after checking out the new mission's details. What surprised him a lot was the information where even Higher Knights can't kill these three spirit beasts.

Even though the mission reward was good, Lucas was not thinking about it as he knew he had to stay alive and escape these ghost-type spirit beasts.

'What should I do?'

Lucas was racking his head while staying alert as he didn't know when these spirit beasts would attack him.

"Keke...that's what I want. Fear more, human brat. The more you fear us, the more we will enjoy it."

The leader of the triad chuckled in his usual way as said those words to Lucas.

"Fear?"

When he heard the Haunting Ethereals words, Lucas frowned for a moment before revealing a slight smile and thought, 

'When did I start fearing death? Is it because of little Evan?'

'If I froze in fear, then who will save him?'

'I need to be alive and powerful to save him from the mysterious organization.'

'Haha'

When he thought about how fearless he used to be regarding death in his previous life, Lucas could not help but laugh.

"Huh? Why are you laughing, human?"

"Maybe, he lost his mind seeing us...keke."

The two lackey ethereals mocked Lucas for laughing at his current situation.

"Shut up."

However, the leader berated them as he looked at Lucas and said, "You are an interesting human. You are the first human I have seen to laugh like that. So, I will give you a chance to leave this valley."

"Leader..."

"Shut up."

Just as the leader of the Haunting ethereals finished his words, the lackeys looked at their leader and were about to say something; however, they were rebuked by him.

"Human, as long as you leave this valley, I will not let you live...keke."

The Haunting ethereals like to make their prey helpless and hopeless before killing them. So, even though the deal sounded good, Lucas knew he could not outrun these three spirit beasts.

"Haha...are you sure about it?"

Nevertheless, Lucas maintained a confident look on his face as he looked at the three Haunting ethereals.

"Keke….let's see whether you have the capability to do that."

The leader of the Haunting ethereals was surprised when it saw the confident words of Lucas; however, it didn't think much because even if Lucas was able to go out of the Hidden valley, it was not planning to let him live.

"Sure. I hope you will keep your promise."

As the deadly killer himself, Lucas could easily say these ghost-type spirit beasts were just toying with him.

Nevertheless, he went along with his plan and shouted, "Shadow clones."

'Swoosh'

Three of his shadow clones came out of his shadow and at the same time, he chanted a spell in his mind.

"You are planning to use shadow clones as a distraction? Why don't you send him out of the Hidden valley?"

As though the Haunting Ethereals were expecting Lucas' to summon the shadow clones, they asked Lucas to send them out.

"You heard them? What are you waiting for?"

As soon as Lucas finished chanting his spell, he shouted at his shadow clones and at the same time, he cast the spell he chanted.

'Invisibility'

'Swoosh'

Just as the three shadow clones that were covering him rushed in three different directions at their full speeds and at the same time, Lucas disappeared from the sights of the three haunting ethereals.

'Die'

The three haunting ethereal's eyes glowed with purple coloured light as the three shadow clones blasted into nothingness as soon as they said 'Die'

"Huh? Where did he go?"

After killing the three shadow clones, the Haunting ethereals looked at the place where Lucas was standing earlier and frowned.

Earlier, even though they took their eyes from Lucas just for a second, they thought it would be impossible for Lucas to escape.

However, now, there was no trace of Lucas as though he had disappeared into thin air,

"Leader, is he not in the  Hidden valley?"

The lackeys searched the entire hidden valley in less than 10 seconds before informing their leader.

"Why will he hide in the Hidden valley anymore? He must have already left the valley when we killed his shadow clones."

The high-level rank 4 spirit beast was so angry with Lucas' escape right in front of its eyes and vented its frustration on its subordinates.

"What are you still doing here? Go and search for him. He must have used all his strength  while escaping from this hidden valley, so, even if you have to enter the Baron grounds, don't let our prey go."

Even though the Haunting ethereal didn't know how and what Lucas used to escape from the hidden valley, it was sure about one thing and that was, Lucas must have used so much of his energy to do that.

"Yes, leader."

As soon as it finished its words, its subordinates disappeared into the darkness to search for Lucas.

"He must have a teleportation talisman...damn it. I was so careless this time."

The Haunting ethereal cursed itself for looking down on Lucas so much that it gave an opportunity for Lucas to escape.

'Anyway, I also look for him.'

With that thought in its heads, the high-level rank 3 Haunting ethereal also continued to search for Lucas.
