Soul for a Girlfriend?

Chapter 59 - The Unwanted One

Yasurouka's POV

"Anyway, Guys I'm going to the washroom too." I wanted to pee, because the AC was blasting. I got up and walked towards the door.

"Ah, return soon tho, the food will be here any minute." Haruka reminded me as I opened the door.

"I got you." I nodded.

"Ayyy" He nodded back.

I went out and walked towards the washroom. On the way, I checked my mobile for any texts and there was indeed a text from the person I was expecting. Sakamaki texted me.

I opened the chat, and he said, "What are you doing?" It was sent to me around half an hour ago.

I replied with, "Nothing much, just out with Koi." The text was delivered but it wasn't seen. Maybe he wasn't near his phone. As I put my mobile back inside my back, it vibrated. I didn't expect a reply this fast.

"Oh, that karaoke thing?" He texted.

"Yeah" I said, and added a smiley emoji after it. The text got delivered, and it got seen too, but no reply came afterwards.

Why is he so weird? He just replied to that text so quickly and then he left me on seen? Why is he so annoying?

"Who are you texting Yasurouka-san?" I heard Isobe calling me.

"Ah, no one in particular. Just an acquaintance." I answered them vaguely.

"Could it be that it's your boyfriend?"

"What? You have a boyfriend? Yasurouka-san, you should've invited him too." Uyeno said while wiping her hand on a tissue paper.

"No, I'm single at the moment." I shook my head in denial. Well, I said as if I was ever in a relationship before.

"As if you're ever in one." Isobe chuckled. She said it in a joking manner, but I know in what sense she said it.

"Though I have a friend, who is a boy." I decided to tease them a little too.

"So, you do have a boyfriend?" She asked me with curiosity and confusion.

"No, I don't." I again nodded in denial.

"Huh?" Uyeno looked at me with narrowed eyes and frowned eyebrows.

"Well, don't hurt your brain. It's fragile, might break," I also chuckled.

"Eh?"

"Anyways, I'm heading back." Uyeno rolled her eyes and walked in the room's direction.

"Isobe-san… oh hey… Yasu…" I heard the voice of Kichirou call out for his girlfriend but as he noticed my presence, he acknowledged me.

"Rouka" I said.

"Yes, sorry I'm bad with names Yasurouka-san" He laughed awkwardly.

"Ah… no… no problem... My name is pretty weird."

"No, it's quite unique though." He said in an assured tone. I gave him a smile in return and glanced at Isobe. I noticed her getting jealous that her boyfriend was talking to another girl in front of her.

"Let's go Kichi-kun" She said in a passive aggressive tone and dragged him along with her.

What a weird pair. I don't like them. The romantic pair of a bitch and a pervert.

On my way back to the room, I again met with Isobe and her 'Kichi-kun'. She opened the door and went in. I looked at the table, as different dishes were served. The aroma of food filled the room.

I looked at Uyeno and Koi talking to each other, but their demeanour was different than what it was a few moments ago. Both noticed our presence, and their usual smiles formed on their faces.

I glanced at Haruka who was sitting beside the standing figure of Uyeno with a downcast expression on his face. It looks like she doesn't like him being all friendly with her.

Well if it was Gaisen here, and Koi was being all friendly to one of his friends, then I guess he might have been a bit jealous too. Though he wouldn't express himself like this girl.

I sat next to Koi. She looked at me with a smile. "This looks delicious."

"I know right, can't wait to dig in." I replied.

Everyone started eating while talking among themselves. I was passing a comment or making a joke every now and then, because my motto is if there's a chance to make a joke, don't let it go.

The time passed really quickly; it was almost 7 pm. We were done with everything, and finished our lunch with a touch of desert at the end. I ate butterscotch ice cream because it was really good.

We were leaving the building, with Uyeno and Haruka walking in front of me holding hands and Koi walking at a steady pace next to me while texting Gaisen. Isobe and 'Kichi-kun' were walking miles ahead of us.

The streets were lit with street lamps, and the streets were as busy as ever. On top of that, this was the station area, so it was always crowded. I'll walk back alone from the point where we all met at the start.

I slightly glanced at Koi and she was indeed immersed in texting Gaisen.

"Is something wrong?" She glanced at me and her azure eyes pierced into mine. There was much certainty in her tone.

"Not really…" I answered vaguely to brush her off, but she kept looking at me intensely. Seems like my answer didn't satisfy her.

"Come one… spill it." She knew exactly that I was unhappy with this arrangement.

"No… it's like… I felt so out of place in this plan." I said with hesitation in my voice.

"Oh my… why though?" There was surprise on her face and a bit of confusion, too.

I didn't want to say it because it might sound like a bitch, but looking at her curious eyes locked onto me, I ended up saying it anyway, "You like, it was all you couple… and I came here as a replacement for Gaisen."

"This is the real reason you were so against this plan, isn't it?" Her lips curved into a smile, as I understood that she was playing dumb to make me say this and get this off my chest a little.

"Pr… probably." I looked downward and kept walking in silence.

"Come here." I heard her voice, as her right hand approached me and grabbed me by my shoulder. She pulled me closer to her for a side while her hand gently stroked my shoulder.

"You overthink a lot, girl, you have to stop that." She said with concern in her voice.

"Why didn't I think of that?" I said in a sarcastic tone, which ended up making me receive a punch on my head.

"Ouch! my bad." I said while rubbing the spot on my head where she hit as she chuckled lightly.
