Soul for a Girlfriend?

Chapter 226 - Wasting Myself

"Yes? What if I spread a rumour that you're a masochist?" I asked him in my usual plain tone, as I heard a chuckle from Kizhashi. Both of us stared at her as she averted her eyes in embarrassment from us.

"No one would believe it." He replied with much confidence in his voice as I asked, "Why is that?"

He stared at me in silence for a moment and answered with a subtle smile on his face, which was an indication that he found my question rather amusing and dumb, "Because words travel faster than actions but actions carry more weight than words."

There was a moment of silence between us again as both of us stared at each other awkwardly. Our silence was broken by Kizhashi commenting, "Tsūmen saying smart stuff… damn."

"Shut up, fam!" Tsūmen narrowed his eyes at her as she chuckled. Her friends found it rather funny as they were laughing too. Shifting my eyes towards Tsūmen, I asked, "So you're trying to say that the rumours about her are from her actions?"

"Precisely." He nodded with an agreeable smile on his face. I knew what he was saying was correct, but it was still wrong to judge someone before actually observing their actions.

"Listen… if things get bad then I'll just break up with her." I said, as that's what I would've done if my circumstances weren't like that. He shook his head from left to right and sighed in irritation as he said, "It's not that easy, you dimwit!"

"What the fuck is the problem?" I asked as he replied in a slightly different tone as he looked at me a bit confused and continued in a hesitant voice, "That girl… she has problems. She is the problem."

From his tone it appeared like he knew quite a few things about her. But I was sure that most of it was heard from someone else's mouth. I narrowed my eyes and asked, "Have you ever talked with her?"

"Do I look crazy enough to talk with her?" He asked in a sarcastic tone as I replied, "See… you haven't even talked with her and you're judging her."

"Bruh… I don't need to talk to her to know those things. Everyone knows that!" He replied with one of those chuckles from nose as I stared at him for a slight moment and replied in a rather blunt tone, "Well I'm not everyone."

"Bruh you trying to be her white knight or something?" He asked in a rough tone, as I looked at him and he had a stern look on his face. I replied with a question of my own, "Oi… are you trying to piss me off?"

"You're acting like a complete simp. What the heck is wrong with you?" He asked with clear irritation and astonishment in his voice as I replied in a rather indifferent tone, "It's not being a simp… it's that I don't like the fact that you're judging her based on some rumours."

"Are you fucking stupid? The rumours happen to be true. What can I do about it?" Tsūmen said, slapping his forehead, as I found it irritating that he was making a big deal out of nothing.

"She happened to be a..."

"What happened?" Tsūmen was cut off by a familiar voice as both of us looked behind us and saw Gaisen approaching us with a subtle smile on his face. He waved at us, as Tsūmen greeted him in a rather lazy tone, "Oh… Gaisen…"

"Why are you two so energetic early in the morning?" He asked, wrapping his hand around Tsūmen's shoulder as his gaze travelled at both of us. Tsūmen pointed towards me and said, "Bruh, this dude acting like a simp all of a sudden…"

"Eh?" Gaisen looked at me in confusion and then at Tsūmen, who added, "That too… for Shiraishi!?"

Gaisen raised his eyebrows and nodded subtly as he seemed to recall something. Raising his index finger, he said, "Oh yes… she came and kissed him the week before."

"Yes…" As that word left my mouth, there was a slight pause on Gaisen's face as he was also not expecting to hear that from me in the least. I replied glancing at Tsūmen and added, "I'm dating her and Tsūmen doesn't like it."

"Because you're wasting yourself. You deserve better." Tsūmen said what he was honestly thinking and it made a smile form on Gaisen's face as he looked at me and I replied, "I won't know if I don't try."

"Oh my…" Tsūmen looked at me in irritation, about to say something but he was interrupted by Gaisen who patted his back and said in a calm tone, "Tsūmen… let it be. It's his decision, after all."

What a pacifist.

Tsūmen shook Gaisen's hand off his shoulders and walked to the front of my desk as he pointed at me and said, "Absolutely not! He is fucking retard when it comes to handling feelings."

Gaisen stared at him for a while and then glanced at me for an instant before nodding and agreeing with Tsūmen, "Ok… touché."

"What do you mean touché? I'm not a kid." I asked, staring at them in confusion as Tsūmen rested his hands on my desk and shook his head from left to right, while explaining, "See this is your first relationship. We don't want you to have a bad experience."

I was actually relieved to see that both of them were looking out for me but I wasn't going to change my ideals for them. I was firm on my stand as I said, "See… maybe she isn't what she appears to be."

Both of them looked at me as Tsūmen looked rather disappointed. The voice of Kizhashi again interrupted as all of us looked at her and she said, "Actually, she broke up with Furata last week…"

She knew about Shig because the whole drama took place before eyes while she enjoyed it from a safe distance.. I, on the other hand, was caught in the crossfire between Shig and Shiraishi.
