Soul for a Girlfriend?

Chapter 210 - Breaking Ties

It seemed like the gravity of the situation was finally setting upon her as a stern look formed on her face and narrowing her eyes, she looked slightly away from him and mumbled in an irritated tone, "Jeez… you want me to continue a half assed relationship then?"

Taking a slight pause, he stared at her in silence for a good minute or so before continuing with a vague nod, "I… didn't say that."

There wasn't even a trace of remorse in her eyes, but rather it appeared like she was getting annoyed by this entire ordeal. This girl was definitely going to be a handful for me to handle because she was crazy. Naoto seems much tamer in her comparison at that moment.

She looked at Shig but her eyes shifted towards me slowly as there was a strange look in her eyes too which seemed to be piercing through me, as she chuckled and continued with a sigh, "See, I enjoyed my time with you. But right now, I got a taste of him."

"Oh shi…" I heard those words leave from the blonde's mouth who was standing next to me as I glanced at her and noticed a look of dread on her face. I was getting quite confused with each passing second. Even though I knew what was going on, I wasn't aware of latent discrepancies.

Biting her lower lip, as she smiled at me, I felt a strange feeling in my stomach which I couldn't quite comprehend at that time.. Her eyes would make me feel a certain way that no target has ever made me feel.

Chuckling to herself as she covered her mouth with her palm, she said shifting her glance back at Shig, who was giving me side glances, "I want him now… after that kiss… I can't get him off my mind."

"I…" Raising his hands, his fingers tried to reach for her but his hand didn't move an inch from his chest as the words never came out of his mouth, but rather a wry chuckle came out as he asked, "So it's like that now… huh?"

"I'm sorry but I was…" Shiraishi was about to say something but it appeared like Shig was finally at his threshold as he turned around and glanced at me for a second before walking off, while showing his palm to her as a gesture for her to stop talking.

Shiraishi came to an abrupt stop as he looked at her one last time and said in a low and deep voice, "Yeah… whatever. I don't wanna hear something from an easy girl like you."

"Huh?" Shiraishi tilted her head as there were slight hints of irritation in her eyes as she walked towards him, and in a sarcastic way, she said, "You should be happy that I gave a virgin like you a chance to date me."

"Bitch, shut the fuck up. You can suck his dick now." He said, looking at her with his blank dark eyes and even though he said that, I couldn't feel the weight behind those words as they seemed rather forced than being from the bottom of his heart.

I understood that he didn't want to say any of that to her, but his predicament was such that he had no other choice. Either letting a girl toy around with your self respect or letting her know about her value. He chose the latter even though he didn't want to hurt her.

"Wha…" She was dumbfounded at the choice of his words as it was a rather vulgar way to address a girl, but Shig definitely didn't care about those trivial things anymore, as showing his middle finger to her, he walked off while saying, "I'm done with you."

"Whatever, go…" Shiraishi was getting agitated too, but I finally decided to interrupt her as I said in my usual indifferent tone, "Shut up."

This was something that she brought upon herself and she had no right to be mad about this, but still she felt the need to express herself and justify her unnecessary behaviour.

If I wasn't a slave to situations too, I would've never talked to a girl like this. Maybe it was too soon for me to judge her, but my first impression was weird and on top of that, knowing about her true nature, just acted as a catalyst for me to be more wary of her.

"Eh?" Her eyes shifted towards me as she looked at me in confusion, and I said in a calm tone while looking at the figure of Shig walking off in the distance, "Why are you provoking him? It's no use to continue this fight. Just let him be."

"Did you not hear what he called me?" She said with a slightly annoyed voice, as I replied, "A single person calling you name doesn't change the fact of your reality."

"What... what?" She tilted her head in confusion. It was the first time I was actually having a conversation with her. Looking at her being dumb, I said with a slight nod of head, "Nothing… just don't mind him."

"So what is your name?" Morika seemed to be observing me for a while before she finally asked, as I looked at her and replied with a slight smile, "Oh yeah, I'm Sakamaki Saishi."

Her eyes moved diagonally upwards as she seemed to recall something. Slowly nodding her head, she pointed at me and asked, "You're Sakamaki?"

"You seem to be familiar with my name." I replied as she nodded and said, "Yes, I remember someone named Sakamaki came second in the sprint."

"Ah… that. It was just me…" I was a bit surprised when she seemed familiar with my name, but it appeared like it wasn't a big deal. I suddenly felt Shiraishi's fingers wrapping around my hand, as I looked towards her, slightly startled and she said, "You're so cool!"

"I'm not. Trust me." I sighed with my slouched shoulders as Shiraishi kept looking at me with her curious eyes while Moriko let out a slight chuckle by herself.
