Solo Player Arvin

Chapter 99 - -13<Memorable Night-5>

'Betrayal… Lust… Wine… These scenarios would make a hell of a good novel.' Arvin commented.

{Meh… There are so many novels that involve all these points. This has just become cliché for the murder mystery.} Loki commented.

'That's true…' Arvin said.

When coming to this room Arvin realized the strength that those two black-cloaked people possessed. They were very strong. Far stronger than Arvin at the moment. It was a surprise to see that they followed the commands of a woman that is far weaker than them. But he didn't think about it too much. His only concern was that how many items would he be able to take from here.

Those black cloaked people were very strong. Arvin had a trump card of his own but he would rather no use it...

Arvin when heard that they started killing people in the mansion he thought that he should probably wait for them to leave the house. Only then he would start to make his move.

He didn't make his move while they were killing people from left to right as he didn't want to gather any attention to himself while stealing things from this mansion. He didn't think of them as idiots who would not notice when things of the house magically start to vanish in thin air. After all, it was better for them to believe that there was no witness of tonight's massacre rather then a guy with hell hiding skill who saw the whole ordeal.

So after the noises died down, Arvin started his work. First, he looked at the room that he was currently in. He became curious. He had recently started consuming alcohol and he didn't have a chance to drink any other type of alcohol like whiskey, scotch, etc. That is why he became curious about these bottles, so he transformed back to a human. He then started checking out bottles in the room…

First Arvin went towards the bodies of the old couple. He took out their jewelry and stored them in his inventory. They might be helpful in the future. There were many intricate bottles in Stuart's collection. And with his inventory, he didn't worry about the space that these bottles would take. He started storing these bottles one by one.

Then the other thing that caught Arvin's eyes was the hookah. Although he had seen hookahs before, he had never used one before. His roommate back in college possessed a smaller version of the hookah of the one in front of him. Thinking that he should take those hookahs with him too. He will be able to sell those things in the future.

So Arvin stored the hookahs with him. And then with vigilance, he went out of the room. He ran straight towards the library. Looking at the circumstance, Arvin decided that it would be better for him to first take the books from the library. Because as far money was concerned he had enough. And he could probably steal more money. But books were the things that not everyone posses. So first he should take care of the books in the library.

With that Arvin went straight towards the library. He swung the gate open of the library and started going through all the books. Any book that caught his interest, he would simply send it to his inventory. Thus the journey of sorting the books began…

While sorting Arvin's eye caught the sight of a set of books. There were seven books in the set. All the books of this set were lined perfectly back to back with each other. The most peculiar thing about those books was that they were clean. CLEAN.

From what Arvin had seen till now, all the books or this library were rotting in the dust. Even the books related to magic. They were all rotting in the dust. Thus when he saw a set of books that were clean when compared to other books it piqued his curiosity.

These books were not squeaky clean. They had some amount of dust on them. But the amount of dust suggested that these books were used frequently. Arvin then read the title of book. The set of books were kept in order…

Playful Tales Volume-7

Playful Tales Volume-1

Playful Tales Volume-2

Playful Tales Volume-4

Playful Tales Volume-5

Playful Tales Volume-6

Playful Tales Volume-3

It was weird enough that these books were clean but they were not kept in order. This library was a mess. But from what he had seen up until all the set of books that this library had were all kept in the order. Seeing the distorted order of books Arvin realization that maybe these books were used frequently. But the real question was that what was so important in the books that these books were used frequently?

Curiously Arvin took the volume-1 out and started going through it. From what he read, he found that these books were in fact children's books. This book seemed to filled with short stories for children. But that was weird. As Aria had told him, she was the only daughter of her parents. That meant that there shouldn't be any small kids in the house. But who would read children's books over and over again?

Arvin then took all the volumes out and checked them too. They were all children's book. Then why would someone take these books out? Still curious about what must be the reason behind it, Arvin started checking the shelf that these books were kept on. He had read in some novels that sometimes there is a false bottom or something like that behind the books…

Arvin started by knocking the wooden surface behind the books. But there he didn't found anything. There was a peculiar thing that he found there. Arvin noticed that there was a mark on the wooden surface. It was a small round mark around an inch in diameter. It was engraved on the wooden surface. Arvin checked the mark by sending mana into his eyes. But he couldn't find anything special about that mark.

Arvin was sure that this mark was the reason that these books were used from time to time. That is the only logical explanation for this. Or else why would anyone want read children's books.

Arvin started feeling the mark engraved on the wall. He tried sensing the mark as he wanted to know what was engraved on that mark. It was then he realized it. The pattern on the mark is the same as the ring of the old man that was killed earlier in the wine room. While taking out all the valuables from his body, Arvin took out his ring too. It was then he felt the engraving of the ring. And this mark has similar engraving as his ring.

Arvin had that ring in his inventory. He took the ring out from his inventory. It was dark in there, so he was not able to see clearly whether the ring and the mark have same type of engraving or not. That is why he started feeling the engraving manually by his fingertips. And upon comparing he was 80% sure that the engraving of the ring and the mark match each other.

But then what? The engraving on the ring and the mark may be the same but what then?

{Try sticking the ring on the mark.} Loki chimed in.

'Why?' Arvin asked.

{Just do it.} Loki said.

Arvin then took the ring and tried sticking it to the mark. And to his surprise as soon as the ring made contact with the mark two steps away from Arvin split opened. Arvin rushed towards the tile to see what was inside.

Inside the tile was a small black color-safe. It had a big dial on it and the whole thing was buried inside the ground. Just like when he opened Alman's safe, Arvin used his mana eyes to check the safe out for any types of runes on it.

But instead of runes, Arvin found number 3 written on the safe. Because of number 3, Arvin became curious as to what does that means? Does it mean that this is the third vault this family has? Or does it imply something entirely different altogether? Arvin ignored the number for now and started focusing on the safe. He would apply Alman's procedure on this safe too.

He decided that he would dig this safe out of here. And he would bang it open when he would come to a secluded place. Determined if what do, Arvin slammed his fist in the tile adjacent to the tile which split opened. He wanted to start digging out the safe.

BAAM

As Arvin slammed his fist the adjacent tile broke into small pieces. And as he that he created a lot of noise. He ignored the fact that it slamming his fist might cause a lot of noise. After all, he could essentially get out of here anytime he wants. He just has to fly away after transforming into a fly.

Arvin was pretty lucky at the moment. Because he still was using his mana eyes. Or otherwise, he could not have seen the number 3 on the safe transforming into a 2….
