Chapter 947 - Was the Legend True?

Chapter 947: Was the Legend True?

“Senior Uncle Yue, did she die just like that?” asked Yuan Hui cautiously as he caught up with Yue Qingjie. He didn’t even notice that he had regained his mobility.

“Even if she doesn’t die now, she won’t be able to live for long. Alright, let’s go quickly. Don’t let anyone see us,” said Yue Qingjie ambiguously as he quickened his pace.

“Then do we still need to call the elders over?” Yuan Hui was puzzled, but he knew that no matter how much he asked, Yue Qingjie wouldn’t say anymore, so he asked about another matter.

“Why would we call them over? What are you thinking?” Yue Qingjie glared at him and inwardly cursed him for being an idiot. At this point, Ling Chuxi had already disappeared. Why would he call the elders over? Did he tell others that he had led Ling Chuxi into the forbidden area and caused her body to be destroyed?

“Nothing. Nothing happened here either. I’ve never been to the forbidden area. How would I know what happened?” said Yuan Hui when he finally got his wits back.

“Hmph.” Yue Qingjie ignored him. He felt a little regret. Although Ling Chuxi had been eliminated, it was a pity that Ling Wushang wasn’t involved.

However, he felt much better when he imagined Ling Wushang’s expression once he found out that Ling Chuxi had disappeared. Knowing how strongly Ling Wushang felt about his sister, it was easy to imagine how big of a blow it would be to him. Hopefully, Ling Wushang would not recover from this setback. With this, Yue Qingjie basically felt as if he had already achieved his goal.

Little did he know that a pair of eyes filled with killing intent were staring at him from afar, though the owner of those eyes was not in a hurry to make a move.

Just as Yue Qingjie turned around to leave, Ling Wushang’s figure flew out like a flash of lightning.

The beast bone earlier that was covered with golden sand truly looked extraordinary. Could the legends be true? Ling Wushang’s heart shook. He did not dare to be careless and did not want to waste time on Yue Qingjie. Instead, he raced over as fast as he possibly could to enter Flowing Cloud Valley.

“I thought you were so sure. Heh.” Bi Xuanshan smiled faintly as he watched Ling Wushang grow unexpectedly concerned.

Just as Yue Qingjie threw out the beast bone, Little White’s eyes narrowed. A thought similar to Ling Wushang surfaced in its heart, “Could it be that the legends are true?”

Then, a strong turbulence surged over. Little White jumped out from Ling Chuxi’s shoulder as the halo on its body circulated and formed a defensive barrier around them. It was like an invisible light cocoon, protecting the two of them.

Ling Chuxi also woke up from her momentary shock and quickly used her True Qi to protect her body.

The turbulence was overwhelming as Ling Chuxi felt her body sway as if she had entered a huge vortex and could not help but fall into its depths.

The light in front of her became dimmer as if she had fallen into a bottomless abyss. The wind whistled by her ears, and the turbulence collided with the barrier around her. The collision sounded like metal colliding with each other. Sparks flew out and everything was distorted. Even the hard rock was distorted into various shapes like clay under the turbulence before finally exploding into dust.

Ling Chuxi took a deep breath. Fortunately, Huangfu Qingjue had activated his barrier in time. If she had been on her own, she probably would not have been able to withstand the impact.

Time passed, but the turbulence was still surging. Her body continued to fly into the depths of the vortex as if it would never end.

Ling Chuxi almost suspected that if this continued, she would not be able to travel to another space again.
