Rise Of The Hoarder

186 Beast

“The fact that you can’t simply means you stand no chance against me. I’m over 50 Levels higher than you!”

These words flashed at Ana, but they were too unbelievable to accept.

“You’re Level 35, I can clearly see that. Do you want to know my Level? It’s at least Level 85, you know?”

The buff, ebony man laughed as he stared at the dumbfounded woman amusedly. To him, she was someone who wasn’t anywhere near his level. Of course, her attack was going to be ineffective.

Charles, who had been hearing all that the man was saying knew that he was speaking the truth. The man’s Level and the Stats that accompanied it were way beyond what Ana and her team members could handle!

‘What an understatement… his Level is higher than 85… it’s… it’s…’

Charles was trembling now, trying to control himself from breaking into a frenzy. Their only hope now was for Jeremy to save them, but even then…

‘It’ll take a few more days before they’re done with the mission!’ Charles gritted his teeth impatiently.

It was no use relying on Jeremy’s miraculous appearance! Besides, after once again looking at the man’s Level and Stats— his Gift too— he was certain… that not even Jeremy could beat this opponent!.

This beast was in a class of his own entirely… a true predator— possessing an Alignment Charles had never seen before.

Chaotic Evil!

“Now then, shall I make my move again?” The overwhelmingly evil being yelled in excitement.

He had a policy that he strictly followed. It had existed before the Apocalypse began… when he was still a criminal.

“You made your first move, then I made mine and killed one of your allies. Since you’ve made another… I suppose it’s my turn again.”

Ana’s eyes widened the instant she understood what he implied with his crass statement. Her body instantly moved in the direction of her teammates, going at full power.

“Ohh, impressive!” The man beamed, unfazed by Ana’s blood-curdling cry as she moved faster than her body usually handled.

Her movements weren’t quick enough, though. In another flash, the second ‘SNAP’ was heard, and the lifeless body of Ana’s comrade fell.

It was Peter this time.

“Noooooo!!!” Ana’s hateful scream pierced the ears of everyone as she lunged at the brown-skinned man.

He appeared glad that his prey was coming to him of her own accord. With her fists tightly clenched, she made for his face— uttering words she never thought she would say.

“I’ll kill you!”

Unfortunately, at that very moment… Ana felt her great power dissipate.

>WHUUUUSSHHHUUU<

The red aura around her vanished, turning orange… and then yellow. Ana was still in midair as this change occurred. She felt her body move slower, heavier than before. The young woman realized what had just happened.

She had reached her limits!

>BAM!< Her weakened blow reached the opponent with barely any noise of an impact.

Compared to her previous feats, this was too underwhelming. The man felt her hand slide off his face, looking bored.

“Oh? You’ve hit your limit already, uh?”

His mumbles were silenced by Ana’s energetic scream. Her hands moved in a flurry, launching many blows at the unflinching man. She wasn’t thinking anymore! Two of her closest comrades were dead, and her last one— one who was like a dear younger sister to her was going to be next!

The very thought sickened Ana and drove her to the edge of insanity.

“YOU BASTARD!!! I’LL KILL YOU!!!”

At this point, the man who was receiving the blows had had enough.

>WHOOOSH<

In what seemed like a blur, a single hand of his moved, chopping both of Ana’s hands off.

>SQUELCH!!!<

Blood poured out of her exposed wound as her flesh was visible, along with muscles and bones— it was a clean cut!

“Guaahhhhhh!!!” Ana screamed, completely overwhelmed by the pain and rage she felt.

Instantly activating the healing Skill she got from the Ogre previously, she was able to alleviate the pain. However…

‘It hurts! Gahhh! It hurts!!!” Both her arms were lying on the ground and while the bleeding had stopped, a great amount of her red fluid had dripped to the ground.

“Oh? You can heal? Nice. It’s your turn now…” The man muttered, egging her to go on and entertain him more.

Ana clenched her teeth. Deep down she must have known it was impossible. She must have realized that he was just toying with her— no— she had most likely already figured it out a while back.

However… for some reason, Ana couldn’t bring herself to stop.

Mustering the last ounce of her energy, she focused everything she had on her head. Bobbing it backward, she launched it at the target who waited expectantly.

>BAM!<

The impact was deafening. Both sides watched to see the result of the clash between both heads. Blood rushed over, caused by the hit— it belonged to Ana.

Her forehead was severely bruised, having thick red liquid pouring out of it. She had given it her all, yet Ana was unable to land a single scratch on her foe. The only stain on the man’s head was that of her blood that printed itself on the center of his face. How deplorable!

While the Ogre’s recovery Skill was useful, it wasn’t almighty. Having to heal two severed arms and a bruised forehead was too much to ask of it.

Ana slumped back, taking a few staggering steps due to the loud ringing in her skull. Perhaps she had cracked it.

“Well, then, it’s my turn…”

The man turned his head to the side and spotted Lily, the youngest among Ana’s team members. She was small, she was weak… also really cute.

He would have killed her with his turn, but something within the man decided against it.

“The girl is only a Level 15… not much EXP…”

Ana heard his whispers and saw that his eyes were on her little sister. Despite the disoriented state she was in, there was no way she could stay still while her enemy was about to kill Lily!
