It was clear who would win. However, I understood that if one of its kind was here, there was bound to be more beyond the walls. I couldn’t lackadaisically overpower it.

To fully gain the most from my fight with this Hobgoblin, I had to learn as much as possible.

“Let’s go!” I grinned.

>WHOOOOOSSSHHHH< I dashed straight for it.

“Guruuuukkkk!!!” It growled, bringing down its large arms to crush me.

Still, as expected, it was slow. Twisting my body to the side, I easily dodged the hit, once again propelling myself forward to strike.

The arms that fell crashed upon the ground, making a huge dent In it. Seeing this, I expertly spun my daggers and aimed to cut one of them.

The Hobgoblin Tanker was nearly as large as an Ogre, having a size about twice my height. Well, all things considered, that wasn’t too impressive.

>SWISH!<

I flung my arms to sever his own. However, to my surprise, my daggers bounced back, causing a recoil in my body.

Quickly retreating, I leaped back while observing the change in the Demon.

“T-that is!” I beamed from the distance I created.

“Garrukuukkk!!!”

The Hobgoblin Tanker’s body was now dark green, a contest of the lighter color their kind had. The most interesting factor about this was that the Demon changed colors when I was about to cut off its arm, causing my blade to be bounced back without causing damage.

“A defensive Skill, maybe?” I reasoned aloud.

I could see why it was labeled as a tank. In terms of defensive capabilities, I would say it was better than my <Aura> Skill.

‘Oh? Now, this is getting interesting. That Skill… I want it!’

Deciding to take the fight a little serious, I activated the core energy within my daggers. This caused red bursts of energy to emanate from it as well as flashes of buzzing electricity.

“Let’s see how much it can handle!”

“Garuiiik!!!!” The Hobgoblin Tanker growled, pounding its arms on the ground, but refusing to leave the gate it guarded.

That was most likely its duty from the onset. Picking up my pace, I dashed at the beast, wielding my glowing weapons in both hands. I saw it raise both hands to deal damage to me once more, but instead of dodging, I jumped high to meet its descending arms and slashed at them with my blade.

>SWIIISSSSHHHH!!!<

Like hot knife through butter, my blades passed through the monster’s hardened skin and cut both arms off. Though I met little resistance, it was insignificant in comparison to the destructive ability of my daggers.

>SPLURGEEE<

Blood gushed out of the Hobgoblin’s severed hands, causing it to screech in pain and anger.

‘So that’s all its defense amounts to? Disappointing.’

I didn’t even use the full abilities of the dagger, yet it easily cut through the defensive Skill of the monster.

‘Maybe it only offers physical resistance and little to no defense against energy-based damage…’ My thoughts trailed.

In any case, I had learned enough from this monster. It was time to kill it.

Adding more power to my legs, I launched myself at the monster which was still recoiling from the damage it received.

Ignoring its cry and terrified expression, I diced and cut it up real good, rending its flesh into mincemeat.

In no time, the body disintegrated, leaving no more foes to challenge me. In a way, it was a rewarding experience. And as expected, I got a reward for my hard work.

[You Have Leveled Up]

‘Even though it was strong, it only relied on its defensive capabilities and brute force. It’s safe to assume that it has no long-range abilities and will attack at a close distance…’

So far, I was to expect three enemies;

The Archers, number unknown, but would most likely be the majority.

The Brawlers, their number most likely very few or non-existent.

The Tankers, numbers fewer than Archers, but a great deal.

No… now that I thought of it well, it would be a good thing to scratch the Brawlers from the list.

In an all-out battle, with Archers firing shots at me, and the other melee fighters dealing damage, Brawlers would only get in the way and would be killed by the arrows of their allies.

‘Brawlers have physical resistance, so the arrows shouldn’t be an issue for them…’

Alright! I got a rough idea of what my fight would be like. The only thing left would be to actually engage in it. Picking up the Demon Core from the vanquished Demon, I o served it well while giving a smile.

It would come in handy.

*******************************************

Within a few moments, all the preparations were made. Looking high at the fence, I was confident that I could make the jump in one go.

Readying my legs, I prepared for my jump. If I appeared at the top of the fence, I would most likely be met with a multitude of arrows, shot down before the fight began.

However, I didn’t intend for things to be that easy.

“Now!”

Instantly, the Demon Cores I had placed in front of the gate exploded, sending a loud noise across the area. Instantly, several arrows passed through the gate. I smiled, watching from a far end by the fence. The Archers who were already waiting must have been waiting for their queue to eliminate the intruder.

Since the explosion came from the gate, they all focused their attention there.

“Now then, it’s time for the main show!”
