Rise of The Anti God

Chapter 362 You Are Weak

Even blood began to drip from her neck as his sword made a slight cut on her neck because of the pressure he was applying.

Nathasia felt her heart tighten, but then she swallowed her fear and said, "I-I want to come with you...please...let me follow you…"

Damien shook his head, "No. Go home," He coldly said as she pushed away Nathasia, making her stumble back.

Nathasia felt hot tears slipping through her eyes as she shouted with all her strength, "I have no home! Not anymore...they killed...my parents…" She sobbed as she kneeled on the ground while Damien stopped for a second though he expected something like that to have already happened.

However, at this moment, he couldn't care less about what happened to others as he continued to walk away.

Nathasia stifled her sobs when she saw that he was walking again and quickly forced her to rush forward.

"Please...let me come with you...I can help you take revenge...I am an Ascended a-and...maybe if I train my powers I can be useful to you…"

Damien was again a bit surprised to hear that she was an Ascended, but then again, he suspected that the moment the military showed up at her house. He knew they wouldn't show up for no reason.

Still, he didn't pay her any mind and kept walking.

Nathasia felt her heart wrench, not knowing how to convince him, but all she wanted to do was make up things for him and also get justice for her parents by helping him.

She now hated the military to the point she was willing to do anything to help Damien destroy them since she knew the only one who had any real chance of destroying them was him.

So even if Damien was treating her coldly, she knew it was either do or die. She didn't really care, nor would she hold it against him if he decided to kill her.

That's why she was fearless in trying to follow him and get him to accept her.

"I promise...to not disturb you...please...I can be very useful...here look…" Nathasia said as she took a stone from the ground and concentrated her best to try and use what was left of her exhausted energy.

She kept on walking as she continued to concentrate, and after a minute or two, she was able to finally transmute it into a long spike with a sharp tip.

"Look...I can make dangerous things from normal stuff...you can certainly make use of—"

However, before she could complete her sentence, Damien quickly walked towards her and pushed her again with an annoyed expression, making her fall on her bottom.

"Stay away. You are a burden that I don't want to carry. You are weak...weak enough to get everyone around you killed or suffer. And I work alone...always…" Damien sternly said before turning around.

Nathasia felt a pain in her heart as she felt that he was right, especially when she thought about her parent's death and what Damien lost.

But then she buried the pain with her own thoughts about why Damien was like this, and in fact, the fact that he hadn't killed her out of annoyance was proof enough that the old Damien was still somewhere inside him.

She was now more determined to follow him and ease the pain in his heart.

She continued to follow him, desperately pushing herself even though she felt like her legs were numb and her body and mind too fatigued even to form a coherent thought.

It was only her sheer willpower that kept her moving, and she was glad that Damien didn't seem to walk faster or run.

But she had no idea that the reason Damien was slowly walking was that his mind was buried in his own thoughts and memories that he could only cherish but never relive again.

Suddenly a few vehicles were approaching Damien's way, and he quickly pushed away his thoughts when he saw that these were military vehicles as well.

He saw five men and women in Ascended uniforms getting off with weapons like daggers, knives, and maces in their hands. It seemed as if they knew that guns were ineffective against him, but he sneered inwardly, wondering what makes these fools think that blades were going to be effective against him.

Nathasia felt her head clearing a bit when adrenaline began to pump in her body upon seeing some military people trying to take down Damien.

"Take him down!" The tallest man among them ordered.

One of the women quickly dashed towards Damien at an insane speed that one wouldn't be able to track her with their naked eye.

Damien only looked at her contemptuously as he swiftly sidestepped and inserted his sword right through her back, puncturing her chest in the process, till a bloodied sword came out through the other side.

The shortest man among them suddenly disappeared from his spot and reappeared behind. Damien was about to stab him when suddenly a sword punctured his solar plexus, and he succumbed to the ground.

The other three had their skins turning into a dark brown color, no different than the color of earth, and leaped towards him with their weapons.

Damien simply stepped back and slashed his sword against the neck of one of the men. However, his sword didn't cut through, and he realized that these three had hardened skin.

So, before they could counter-attack, he quickly jumped backward and closed his eyes as if he was focusing on something as he held a sword stance.

The three didn't hesitate to take this window of opportunity to attack him and dashed towards him.

However, Damien suddenly opened his eyes and did a semi-circular cut in the air as the sword let out an invisible force that easily slashed the bodies of the three into halves.

Nathasia had her jaws slack, unable to believe how he easily took down these trained Ascended people.

But her eyes narrowed when she saw one of the women who got stabbed through her chest before slowly raising her gun towards Damien.

Apparently, her heart was on the other side, unlike what Damien expected.

"No!" Since Damien's back was facing her, she felt that he wouldn't be able to react in time and jumped forward to protect him from getting shot.

*BANG!*

She felt her back pressing against his back as the sound of the gunshot echoed, due to which she closed her eyes shut in panic.

However, seeing that she wasn't feeling any pain, she opened her eyes to see the bullet floating in mid-air just inches away from her neck.

"You seriously think I need your help?" Damien snorted as he pushed away Nathasia and stabbed the woman in the head, immediately killing her.

Nathasia bit her lip, feeling that Damien seemed to be angrier because of what she did though she had no idea why.

Damien continued to walk after making sure all six were dead, and Nathasia still continued to follow him. But this time, he briefly turned his head to say, "You better not slow me down."
