Retired Villainess Transmigrates into a Cannon Fodder

Chapter 127

Chu Xiang shrugged his shoulders innocently and replied, “I’m not sure what other people think about my words. However, I would never offend someone who has never offended me. Thus, if I happen to offend someone, that person must have done something to wrong me in the first place. Of course, I understand that I’m but a mere celebrity who has just made her comeback, so I settled things by simply shouting a few insults. I mean… what else did you think I could do?  If you claim that I was being too harsh, hmm… I guess I can be even more so.”

Upon hearing her words, Zhang Nan couldn’t help but chuckle. “Since your marriage only lasted for a short year, do you think that it was considered a failure in your book? Do you have any advice you would like to say to both the married or single ladies watching the live broadcast?”

After pondering for a moment, Chu Xiang replied, “I guess it would be to search for your own happiness. Whether you’re married or single… whether you’re a guy or girl… make sure to think before you act. If you’re unhappy with your current relationship, don’t be foolish enough to think that your partner might just have some sort of difficulties in their life. If they’re only acting nice to you in person and doing something to make you unhappy behind your back, their ‘love’ to you is merely a hypocritical show of affection. You must definitely not be influenced by their outward appearance. Furthermore, don’t wrong yourself by trying to fit in with others as it isn’t worth your time to invest in a relationship where you’d have to change your entire personality and character, even if it’s for your elders. As the saying goes, the bad guy will eventually grow old and turn into a grumpy person.”

Although Chu Xiang never mentioned anything regarding her own situation, it felt as if she had just said everything that she personally experienced. Everyone who heard her speech could empathize with the  hardships of being oppressed, wronged, and scorned.

Feeling soft-hearted for once, Zhang Na couldn’t stop her next question, “Do you still feel any sort of unwillingness or regret?”

Chu Xiang’s lips curled up into a slight smile. “After attaining my enlightenment, I finally realized that I should work hard to achieve whatever I want. Even if I may not be able to achieve my goal for the time being, it would only be a matter of time before I do so in the future. When that time comes, all those regrets will inevitably turn into happiness, as long as I am bold enough to follow through with my decision.”

Unable to grasp the complete meaning behind her words, Zhang Nan initially wanted to talk more about the topics regarding the Lin Family. However, since they would run out of time for other questions otherwise, she had to reluctantly switch the topic of the conversation.

“I’m sure that you fans definitely hope to see you living a happy life in the future. Everyone should have known about your past now… about how you grew up as an orphan. Recently, there have been rumors floating around the web suspecting your relation to the Mo Family since you happen to resemble the appearance of the chairman of the Mo Family. Were you aware of these rumors and speculations?”

Chu Xiang nodded and broke into laughter. “That speculation is complete nonsense. Since the world is so big, there would naturally be people who happen to resemble one another. Besides, I wouldn’t care whether I may resemble someone else or not. Isn’t this simply a waste of time? To further clarify, I’m extremely satisfied with my past and current identity. I’m also quite fond of my current life. Who wouldn’t want to live a life without having to worry about the stains on your shirt coming back to bite you?”

Zhang Nan’s eyes bulged out of her refined face. She didn’t think that Chu Xiang would be this bold of a person. After all, wasn’t she basically implying that Mo Xinru is living a life covered with stains? Well… she is a mistress.

She tried her best to hold back her laughter. “It seems that Xiang Xiang is quite open-minded and carefree. Do you have any plans in mind after successfully making your comeback? What are you going to do next?”

“Shooting a movie, releasing an album, organizing a concert, and a variety of other things. Only after leaving the industry did I finally realize my true passion for this profession. I will never leave such a wonderful world ever again. Who knows? Perhaps I might still broadcast myself on TV even after turning seventy or eighty years old.”

“When that time comes, I will definitely watch your broadcast. In that case, why don’t we wish for Xiang Xiang’s dream to come true together, everyone? Let’s also thank her for taking the time to partake in [Unusual Q&A] as a guest! Thank you, Xiang Xiang.” Zhang Nan stood up and hugged Chu Xiang for a second before the live broadcast finally ended.

Backstage, Chu Xiang giggled. “What does Sister Nan think about my performance?”

She was given a thumbs-up “It was a magnificent performance, indeed! This week’s broadcast will definitely blow up. I already have a premonition that your supporters will support you until the end. Of course, your haters will naturally bring over even more hate. Aside from that, I reckon that your cryptic words will definitely cause a few people to go wild!”
