Chapter 215 Gu Yechen in the Trash

　　Su Zhiming was taken to jail to await his trial. He had the right to a lawyer and a trial, but all of that was no use in the face of Gu Yechen.

The trial was going to start in a few days, and He Xinyan and Gu Yechen were going to watch, since He Xinyan was the victim and Gu Yechen was a witness.

However, today, He Xinyan was going to go visit two people she hasn’t seen in a long time.

Gu Yechen and He Xinyan drove and stopped in front of the house. The door to the house was opened already, and Xu Mengya stood in front of it.

She jumped up and down excitedly when she saw the two of them, and she ran out without any shoes on to greet them.

”Xinyan!” She ran straight into He Xinyan’s arms and hugged her tightly, “Oh, I missed you. We haven’t seen each other in so long!”

He Xinyan nodded her head, “Auntie Xu, I miss you too!”

”Come in, come in.” Xu Mengya held onto He Xinyan’s hand and pulled her into the house. Throughout this entire conversation, Gu Yechen was ignored. 

He sighed with a small smile and walked behind them and into the house.

However, when they reached the door, Xu Mengya slammed the door shut after she had walked in with He Xinyan, right at Gu Yechen’s face.

He blinked a few times and pressed his lips together to try and remain calm.

The next second, the door opened again. Xu Mengya’s face peeked out and she chuckled awkwardly, “Hahaha, oops! I forgot about you!”

Gu Yechen raised one eyebrow but didn’t say anything. Maybe he was actually found in a trash dump when he was a baby. . . 

Once they entered the room, the delicious smell of food entered their noses.

It was lunchtime, so they immediately began eating once they arrived. 

Gu Hanyu once again cooked up several delicious dishes, and they were all Xu Mengya’s favorites.

”Eat this, it’s really good,” Xu Mengya said as she placed a piece of salmon on He Xinyan’s plate.

”Mm. . . it’s so good!” He Xinyan’s eyes widened as she took another piece of the salmon.

Hearing He Xinyan compliment her husband’s cooking, Xu Mengya smiled happily and continued to eat the food placed into her plate by Gu Hanyu. 

Halfway through the meal, Gu Hanyu, who was usually silent, finally spoke up.

He looked up at Gu Yechen and casually asked, “When do you two plan on getting married?”

He Xinyan almost choked on her food as she looked over at Gu Yechen, who seemed very calm. To be honest, she didn’t think about marriage, because she was still quite young.

She still wanted to stay as an “unmarried individual” for a while longer!

Gu Yechen ate another bite of rice, “Soon -“

”Soon?!” He Xinyan gasped. When did it become soon?!

Gu Hanyu nodded his head and went back to being silent again. Meanwhile, Xu Mengya got very excited at this topic.

She put down her chopsticks and looked over at her son, “What do you mean by soon? When is soon? What date? Is the proposal ready? What is your proposal plan? When is the wedding date -“

”Madam Xu,” Gu Yechen looked up and raised one eyebrow. Xu Mengya rolled her eyes and turned to He Xinyan.

”Xinyan, is it really soon? When are you two going to get married?”

He Xinyan blinked a few times, “Um. . . Well. . . I don’t know.”

Xu Mengya glared at Gu Yechen, “See! Yanyan doesn’t even want to marry you yet! Stop overthinking! Ch!”

Gu Yechen looked over at He Xinyan, “You don’t want to marry me?”

He Xinyan looked between Gu Yechen and his mom, “It’s just a matter of time.”

Gu Yechen was pleased with this answer, and he continued to eat happily.

After eating, He Xinyan sat down and talked with Xu Mengya for a while before they left. When they returned home, Gu Yechen didn’t immediately get out of the car.

He turned around and looked over at He Xinyan, “So, when are we going to get married?”

He Xinyan thought for a few seconds before replying with a grin, “Soon!”

The first day of Su Zhiming’s trial was here.

He Xinyan and Gu Yechen arrived at the court early in the morning and sat down in the front row of the audience section.

It was a private trial, so there were only a few people there.

A few minutes after they arrived, Su Zhiming was brought out.

Su Zhiming had brought his private lawyer that worked for his company and him. On the other side, Gu Yechen had invited the Gu Corporation’s lawyer team, also known as the strongest lawyer team in the country.

Therefore, Su Zhiming basically stood no chance.

The trial began and during the first day, both sides read their opening statements, and there were a few questions. Nothing much happened and the first day of the trial finished.

He Xinyan looked over at Su Zhiming once in a while, and something confused her. She expected him to be very nervous or anxious. After all, there was no way he wanted to go to jail.

And, the lawyer team on the other side was the Gu Corporation! There was basically no way he would win.

However, he seemed very relaxed and didn’t even seem to care about what was going on during the trial.

During the car ride home, He Xinyan decided to ask Gu Yechen, the all-knowing person!

When he heard the question, he smiled. Smiled?

”Why are you smiling?” He Xinyan frowned.

”Su Zhiming is just going to pay his way out of jail even if he gets in,” Gu Yechen said.

”What?! Can he do that? Can’t you only do that prior to sentencing?” He Xinyan wasn’t very familiar with law, but she didn’t think it was possible to buy your way out of jail. . . right?

Unless you were Gu Yechen.

”Su Zhiming’s company is doing quite well now. He definitely has a lot of money by now, and there is no way he would want to go to prison during a time like this. My guess is that his plan is to buy his way out of prison if he does get sentenced to jail.”

”That is possible?!” He Xinyan asked. The legal system was this corrupt?!

Gu Yechen grinned, “With me, it isn’t.”

The next day, the biggest news on all of the news companies was the bankruptcy of a big entertainment company: Newstart Entertainment.

All of Su Zhiming’s hard work all these years had been destroyed overnight. . . by Gu Yechen.

He Xinyan’s mouth fell open when she saw this news, “You – You did this?!”

”His company is no match for the Gu Corporation. It isn’t even that powerful. This was just like stepping on a fly,” Gu Yechen said proudly, glancing at He Xinyan, almost as if he was asking for her compliment. After all, Su Zhiming was still her ex-boyfriend and first boyfriend.

No matter how disgusting and lowly Su Zhiming was in comparison to Gu Yechen, he still felt a little. . . just a little. . . maybe quite. . . okay, very jealous.

He had been waiting to get rid of Su Zhiming for forever! Now, he finally did it!

He Xinyan noticed Gu Yechen’s eager expression, and she leaned forward to kiss him quickly on the lips, “Good job, good job! You did great!”

Gu Yechen smiled happily, and his cheeks turned just a little pink, making him look incredibly cute!

He Xinyan couldn’t help but reach up and pinch his cheeks, “Aww, my baby is so cute!”

Gu Yechen raised one eyebrow and used one finger to lift He Xinyan’s chin up. Then, he leaned down for another kiss. . . a much longer one.

Su Zhiming’s trial was continuing, and the next few days, Su Zhimign’s attitude during the trial had changed completely.

He was very anxious, and you could tell that he hadn’t slept well in several days. The dark circles under his eyes were so dark and big that He Xinyan could see them from several feet away.

His skin had also turned into an unhealthy color, and his hair seemed to have not been brushed in a long time.

In the end, the Gu Corporation’s lawyer team won the case easily, and with Gu Yechen in the back controlling the case, Su Zhiming’s punishment was much worse than normal cases of this sort.

He was sentenced to life imprisonment in jail.

Upon hearing the final verdict, He Xinyan couldn’t help but feel a little, just a little bad for Su Zhiming. If he had just divorced Li Yuyan and lived his life without bothering her, maybe he wouldn’t have ended up like this.

Gu Yechen would have definitely done something to punish Su Zhiming, but it wouldn’t be as bad as life imprisonment in jail.

However, the small feeling of pity quickly went away.

After all, He Xinyan was the victim. 

And, Su Zhiming deserved it.

The case was closed.
