Reborn As A Dragon Girl With A System

Chapter 711: Every Step Brings Death

Chapter 711: Every Step Brings Death

The male disciple did not even think before turning and running. Kana could only sigh as she raised her hand. All that was heard was a scream and then silence. On the ground was a pile of black dust that was quickly blown away by the wind. Kana stood up and looked at the withered bodies around her before turning them into dust as well. “Just thinking about the fact that they might have touched me makes me feel dirty….”

Kana put the last of the roasted snake meat away before making her way back towards the pond. When she arrived, she didn’t even remove her clothes and jumped right in. She submerged herself underwater, holding her breath for as long as she could before resurfacing. She did this quite a few times before finally laying flat on the water’s surface floating around. “I wonder what I should do next… I could go find the others, but I am afraid they might accidentally touch me. But I should also make sure they know I am okay….”

*Plop*

*Plop* *Plop*

*Plop* *Plop* *Plop* *Plop*

Kana heard bubbling sounds around her making her turn her head. She sighed as she saw all the dead, withered fish floating to the surface. “I guess I ruined this place as well… if only….”

Kana’s thought process stopped when she remembered something very important. She was the Goddess of Life and Death, which meant that she not only held power over death but also power over life… “Is it even possible currently?”

Kana had no idea how to even use her life element. She had no idea if she needed some kind of trigger to allow her to use it like her death element. She swam to the shore through groups of dead fish. When she reached the shore and stood there dripping wet looking out of the water that was once very beautiful to look at but now looked like a pond filled with death. She closed her eyes and tried to feel for any other kind of element in her body, but no matter how much she searched, she could only feel her fire and death element.

Kana’s brow wrinkled as she knelt by the shore and touched the water’s surface once more. “I am sorry for destroying this beautiful place.”

Kana stood back up after a moment of silence before heading towards the forest exit. Every step she took killed everything within a few centimeters around her. Kana did her best to ignore her situation as she tried to come up with a way to explain things to her friends. She did not want to scare others. She could remember from her past lives how people would treat her as some kind of monster. They would throw things at her and chase her out of town, forcing her to fend for herself.  She had to spend her life alone until the day she died.

Sometimes she got lucky and was able to meet one person who would sympathize with her, but in the end, they would try to get close and end up dying. At least this is what happened in her past lives. “Luckily, no matter what happens on this planet, I have people waiting for me to return. Although if I hurt my friends, I do not know how I would feel. I just hope something like last time doesn’t happen.”

Kana’s worst fear was losing control of her power. She did not wish to do something that was irreversible. “I will just need to be careful.”

Kana sighed as she continued moving forward. She knew where to find her friends. She just hoped that they did not meet with trouble along the way.

As Kana was making her way towards her friends, a group of disciples from the Heavens Tear sect were making their way into the forest she had just left. “Are you sure this is the way they went?”

“Yeah, they said they were going to go check out the glowing spring to see if there was really a dragon there. They should be there by now.”

“Hey, who’s that?” A girl yelled out as she pointed at the figure coming towards them.

“Looks like a divine beast! And one of a low rank. If we capture her, she can form a contract with one of us.” A young man licked his lips as he stared at Kana’s body.

“You’re disgusting. If anyone forms a contract with her, it will be one of us girls.” A young woman suddenly spoke up as she smacked the young man on top of the head.

“Senior sister, that is not fair.” The young man rubbed his head, feeling aggrieved.

“What did you say? Do you want to find out who is stronger?” The young woman asked, causing the young man to quickly shake his head. He was not dumb. He knew his senior sister was powerful.  “That’s what I thought. Watch me force this divine beast to submit to me.”

The young woman ran to stand in Kana’s way, causing Kana to frown. “Are all people in this world idiots? Do none of them have a sense of danger?”

“Stop!” The young woman yelled out as she smugly looked at Kana as if she was the most powerful being in the world.

Kana sighed and looked at the young woman, who looked no more than 20 years old. “If I stopped just because you said so, wouldn’t that make me look weak? Plus, I do not think you want to get close to me.”

The young woman seared as she said: “I don’t want to get close to you. I want nothing more than to get close to you so you can become my spirit beast!”

Kana now realized what was going on. While it was true that she was considered a divine beast. She would never become anyone’s pet, that was for sure. But since there were quite a few cultivators behind the young woman, she knew it would be hard to outrun them, and she had already decided she would no longer run anymore.

“Okay, but I did warn you.” After saying this, Kana unsheathed her sword and struck out, sending blades of sword qi at the young woman and the other cultivators.
