Reborn As A Dragon Girl With A System

Chapter 691 - Will Not Stand For It!

Chapter 691 – Will Not Stand For It!

Kana found herself standing in front of a large cave entrance. Next to her was a dog…. Fan Sengya, the archer girl whose name turned out to be Fei. She did not give a last name, just that her name was Fei. Fei did not speak much, but after Kana held her hand, she stuck close to her and said a few words here and there. As for the monk, his name was Zhong Liuxian, and came from a monastery to learn different ways of cultivation besides body cultivation.

The group of three and their dog were now split from the rest of the group. It seemed no one dared to speak with the four disciples who were able to keep a rank three demonic beasts busy for an entire day without getting a single scratch. The disciples who passed the second test, including Kana and her group, only numbered in the forties.

After the array was canceled during the second test, Elder Shaun went to capture the disciple who had been hiding, but when she did, he seemed to have had some kind of technique used on him because just before he could speak, his head exploded. So any leads as to who was the mastermind behind the wind falcon was lost with his death.

But even with all the drama, the tests still had to go on. Elder Ning stood in front of the cave looking at the last of the hopeful disciples and smiled: “You have done well. Those who were able to keep the determination to join the sect are all here. You kept trying to climb the cliff. Whether you got even a few centimeters off the ground or not, you showed your determination to join the Moon Crest Academy.

“But now is the last test. You will all enter this cave at the same time. You will face dangers and many obstacles that you must overcome. Only those who pass through the exit will be allowed to join the sect.

“I will not say any more. I wish you all good luck. Please enter the cave.” Eldering Ning waved his hand and signaled for the disciples to enter as he backed up out of the way.

Kana and her group of four walked forward and entered the cave together. The entrance was just a  straight tunnel that went deeper into the cave. They walked for almost five minutes before they finally came to the end of the tunnel and out into an opening. It was just that this opening led to a ledge that dropped off into a black abyss. All of the hopeful disciples all stood on the ledge and looked out over the gap. On the other side was another ledge and what looked to be an exit.

“Hmmm…” Kana rubbed her chin as she looked around. “The first part of this trial is to cross the gap, but it does not seem like it will be easy.”

“What is this!? How are we supposed to cross this!? It’s not like we can fly!” A female disciple yelled out.

“No, it does seem like one person can fly.” Another female disciple replied as her gaze fell on Kana and her wings. Her words also brought the gazes of the other disciples to look at Kana. Seeing this, the girl snickered and continued:  “We should just have her carry us over, no? Nothing wrong with a demonic beast doing the bidding of us human cultivators.”

“Hey, watch your mouth!” Fan Sengya’s anger quickly spiked. He unsheathed his sword and took a step forward towards the girl.

“Young Master Fan, why are you getting mad? It’s just a dirty….”

*Slap!*

“Say another word, and this demonic beast as you called me will do a demonic thing and toss your dirty mouth and the body connected to it off this ledge.” One thing Kana hated the most was discrimination. She did not care what people called her, but if they discriminated against her for her race, she would not stand it. She had seen what discrimination leads to, and she did not like it one bit.

“You!? You dare hit me!?” The girl held her cheek, looking at Kana in shock and a bit of fear.

“I already hit you! Why are you asking me if I dare to do it? Should I do it a few more times? Maybe I can knock some sense into that stupid brain of yours! Do not act high and mighty in front of me just because you might have numbers. Your little bit of confidence is nothing to me. If I so choose, I can kill each and every one of you with ease. Do you think just because I am a stage one qi gathering realmed cultivator, that I am easy to kill? Sorry to tell you, even if you were in the qi condensation realm, you would not be my match.” Kana’s voice echoed through the cave. Her eyes filled with killing intent. Her aura that was once a happy-go-lucky girl without a care turned into a murderous demon ready to slaughter all those who stood in her way.

Every dragon has a reverse scale, Kana was a dragon with quite a few of them, and this girl had to go and step on one. All the disciples on the ledge all averted their eyes when Kana looked at them. Even the girl shut her mouth, no longer daring to say anything. She had only dared to say something due to there being more people. But after feeling Kana’s killing intent directly directed at her, she shivered in fear. She wondered just how many people did this girl have to kill to get such a strong thick killing tent.

Seeing everyone go quiet, Kana retracted her killing intent and smiled. “I do not mind helping others cross. Even people like her who bad mouth me I do not mind helping, but….. We do not know if this place has some kind of an array to block people from flying, now do we? What if I have one of you dangling over the gap that goes down into the deep dark abyss and I lose my ability to fly? What then? We both die, right? Think before you speak! If this is a trial for those of our cultivation level, do you really think flying is the answer? How many qi gathering cultivators do you know that can fly? Besides myself, I bet you can not name anyone else unless they are of divine beast heritage. So instead of relying on one person to give you the easy answer, begin searching and share your findings!”
