Rebirth: Over the Horizon

"Bam" 

As he expected the black knight blocked the fireball easily with its longsword. 

However, it missed to notice the fiery red circle which formed beneath it's feet, "Fwoosh..." 

Flames mercilessly erupted from the magic circle, washing the black knight with beautiful and magical flames. 

Without giving a chance for the flames to extinguish, Adam's mind calculated another plan. 

"Earth hands" 

Two over large formed at the two sides of black knight and made a dome which covered the black knight perfectly.

After confirming it with system's notification, Adam directly went out of the cave.

Then, started to head towards the primitive village.

The mighty chief waited at his house, fortunately, there were no demonic monsters attacked them at that time. 

Even if they did invaded the tribe, Alumig would have took care of them. 

"Lord, we are finally free from this terrible place!" 

The chief kneeled down and handed over the black magnificently enraged rune to Adam. 

"Here! My Lord your the new chief of our humble tribe now onwards." 

As Adam took the rune in his hand a deep black symbol formed on his arm. 

Adam glanced at both the tattoos, one he got from [Palndera] which was placed on his wrist. 

Another one was this black rune tatoo which tattooed on his arm and sighed. 

Adam placed the rune on his inventory and walked towards the portal. The tribe also packed their things and quickly followed his suit.

Outside the portal. 

The atmosphere outside awkard, Arsha Kiemia glanced each other from time to time. 

However, both of them didn't tried to start a conversation, because they thought they couldn't converse. 

In reality, because Adam had defeated the black knight and made them hoin his faction. 

They were already recognized as his subordinates by system, so they will not have any trouble speaking each other. 

'Ah, I hope you come quickly out, My Lord.' 

At that moment, Adam walked out of the portal and with his bew gained followers. 

Arsha was stunned for a moment seeing h easily conversing with this unknown people. 

"My Lord, how can you speak?" 

Before Adam could reply her a sweet ans tender voice greeted Arsha's voice. 

"I also don't know sister, however I can easily understand your words." 

Hearing another voice, Arsha eyes quickly rolled to spot who it was, but she stunned for a moment again. 

"How can you understand us?" 

Kiemia shrugged and opened her hands wide while saying, "I don't know..." 

"That's not important Arsha. Now onwards they will be part of our guild as fellow faction try to cooperative with each other." 

"Mhm..." 

"Yes!" 

As this matter of problem resolved, Adam and his troops continued to move forward.

When they reached the base again it was mess, piles of human and NPCs bodies were being burned. 

While medic and healer teams were frantically running in and out of the battle field. 

Few seconds after the arrival of their leader the wave finally ended and the time were next invasion also reprinted on the virtual screen which floated in the air. 

"Guild leader, we though we can defend relentlessly. The number loses keeps raising as the raids increases." 

"You don't have to worry about that Azumi, I have already found the [city token]." 

"City token?" 

"You didn't know about that right?" 

"Yes" 

After explaining what's the use of city token, Azumi was delighted. 

She left the place to teleport to navy troops and give out the valuable information.

Green beautiful lights slowly appeared at the topmost centre point of the space and covered an area which can hold about 5 lakh people.

Adam clenched his hand, after few minutes he used [Heal] on his hand and headed back to rest.

There is a strange, dark energy here. Where it comes from, or if it even has a focused point at all, is impossible to say.

I blink a few times, trying to adjust my eyes to the darkness around me. 

When I open my eyes after the fourth blink, a single lamppost has appeared next to me, its globe emitting a weak light that flickers over my surroundings.

I know I ought to be more surprised to see something as illogical as an object appearing out of thin air, but I find myself too captivated by the faint gleam to react.

 If whole hours or mere seconds pass by as I stare at the light, I can't tell; time doesn't seem to move in an ordinary fashion here, but I find that I don't really care either way.

Then, as if suddenly being shaken awake in the midst of a happy dream, I notice faint silhouettes appearing in the distance.

The strange shadows move before me, their motions unclear and abstract, almost like candlelight fighting against wind.

 I recognize them somehow, but for some reason I can't seem to place them. 

A strong feeling of dizziness has invaded my mind, making it impossible to form a single coherent thought.

Their sudden appearance had shocked me into stillness, but when they venture closer to me, I finally gain enough control of my body to act.

'I have to fight' 

I immediately position myself in a fighting stance, curling my hands into fists and glaring at the shadows. 

They stop moving for a moment, almost as if they are shocked by my reaction. 

I take the opportunity and swing out towards one of them, but my hand ends up going right through it.

Well, it does make sense for an immaterial being to be unaffected by physical touches….
