Rebirth: Over the Horizon

Chapter 103 - Corrossion Island

The old man rummaged through his wooden chest and took out an old-looking scroll.

The old man breathed into the scroll. Because Adam had already walked away from the window at this time, he did not block the sunlight.

A thin layer of dust departed from the scroll and flew into the air and it was clearly visible in the bright sunlight.

Then the old man seemed unsatisfied, and shook the scroll in his hand, he nodded in satisfaction after shaking off the dust completely.

Then the old man approached Adam and handed him the scroll in his hand. He reached out and took it, and then opened the scroll eagerly.

[Do you want to learn Epic skill: Aura Purification?]

"Yes"

The scroll degenerated in the air, at the same time a new skill appeared on his skill arsenal.

Adam bowed slightly to the withered old man. He continued: "I am ready to go to the island of corrosion."

He took out a wooden stick which seemed like a walking stick and placed it on Adam's head.

White rays descended above him and sucked Adam with them.

"Since you already know about the Corrosion Island, you should know what you have to do there."

The old man said calmly. "I wish you success." The old man smiled slightly and then yawned.

He lied where he was previous sleeping and closed his eyes.

The sunlight came in obliquely, plating the silver wire of the withered old man with a layer of gold. His slight breathing is the only sound in this space.

[MISSION:

Sub-part 2: Get to the heart of Corrosion Crypt.

Rewards: 240 Pt]

Somewhere in the world of [Horizon]

The bright sun rays fell on the blue ocean, making it shine like a bright jewel, the ocean was beautiful and full of vitality.

Small fishes jumped out of the water but before they could dive again onto the ocean they were swallowed by big fishes.

Groups of tortoises cutely tried to return to their caves but were swallowed by the overloads of the ocean.

Though it's a bit cruel, only things like these proves that the ocean is full of vitality.

From time to time ripples of water formed or something which can call as waves took shape and went towards the nearest shore.

But, the place these waves reached was...horrible, it will be more perfect to call it wasted land rather than shore.

As the waves nears the shore bit by bit, its colour also started to degrade slowly.

It becomes dim and ultimately turned into a rusty looking colour, a shade that is neither attractive as red nor calm as brown.

The island was enveloped by a thick fog, at a distance a mighty eagle tried to enter the fog and across the island.

But, as soon as the air from the fog entered its brain, the eagle lost consciousness and white bubbles started to come out of its mouth.

It fell on rusty looking sand and its body shattered like a tomato thrown out from the top floor of a skyscraper.

The island was like a hideous beast living on a lawn full of roses.

Suddenly, bright white rays formed some 3000m above the island, in the sky.

"Ahhhh..."

A man screamed loudly as he was falling from that white light.

"Damn, why did that old man teleport me in mid-air."

But, when the man entered the island scattering the thick layer of fog with a 'puff'

Unlike the eagle from before he didn't lose his consciousness nor did his mouth throws up white bubbles.

[-1250]

[-1250]

"Fly"

Even though Adam cast his spell earlier, the inertia pushed him into the thickest part of the fog layers.

[-1480]

[-1480]

"To the hell with that, even though I am flying in the middle of the poison fog, how can my HP decrease this drastically."

"If this goes on, I am afraid, I will truly die within the next few seconds."

'Yea, I remember, that old man gave me some skill, right?'

'He also mentioned that it will be useful for me to deal with corrosion island.'

As these thoughts ran in his mind, Adam cast the spell, "Aura purification."

A bright golden light appeared before him and covered his body like a protective barrier.

The fog also didn't dare to near this golden light.

'Even though this golden light is not recovering my HP, at least it stops the poisonous fog which harms my body.'

But, even with the help of golden light, his vision was still a blind spot he can't see anything other than the white coloured fog.

He thought for a while and suddenly a weird idea popped up in his mind.

There was approximately 70-80 cm of the gap between the golden barrier and his body.

Adam tried to shrink the distance between them, even though it seemed ridiculous.

After a few trials and errors, it happened.

The gold barrier shrink to the extent that there was even less than one cm gap between his body and the golden barrier.

'Ha, thank god, it worked.'

With a sigh of relief, Adam re-shaped the left behind golden light into a googles and put it onto his eyes.

Just as he predicted the fog surrounding him become dim and Adam was able to see around him to some extent.

It took him about ten minutes to reach the entrance of the corrosive crypt. Adam cancelled 'Fly' and lightly landed on the ground.

Before the entrance of the crypt, there was a densely packed group of skeletons, the slaves of the little darkness.

They moved around from time to time, but they were not in any formation and seemed like wandering around.

It was enough to prove that they were not controlled by any undead unit.

Adam thought for a moment and waved his staff. Then a fireball flew out.

"Fireball"

"Fireball"

"Fireball"

Because both MP and CD was low in the case of fireball, he casted this spell without any care and quickly exterminated the skeletons.

After wiping out these little slaves of darkness, Adam slowly walked towards the corrosive crypt.

Two of the deadliest attacks are poison and curses, Adam was currently dealing with one of them.

The toxin attack could penetrate through the defence, it's not even considered as penetrating it can literally ignore our defences.

The same goes for the curses, but of course, if there is a problem there is also a solution.

The solution was 'Aura Purification', even though his MP was constantly draining, it was a reasonable amount.

[Do you wish to enter Corrosive Crypt?]

He took a long breath and adjusted his state.. Then his eyes brightened, and he stepped into the front of the corrosive crypt and said, "Yes."
