Reaper of the Martial World

Book 13: Chapter 4: RageRage

Book 13: Chapter 4: RageRage

Madeleine slowly rose.

The air around her had matured in the last several hundred years. It held a sharpness that couldn’t be hidden in addition to an undisguised confidence that was almost suffocating. Even when she sensed the awakening of The Entity, aside from a slight frown, her expression didn’t change much at all. It was as though even if such a thing were to happen, she still felt that she could deal with it.

She had hardly stood when several auras converged onto her.

Madeleine looked up to find Ri, Clara, Amphorae, Jade and Luna.

“Where is Little Alauna?” Madeleine asked, her frown deepening.

The four women looked at each other helplessly after hearing these words.

“She went to attack the Sapientia again.” Luna finally responded.

Madeleine sighed. “The Sapientia aren’t as simple as they seem. If she keeps antagonizing them like this… a cornered beast will eventually bite back.”

Despite hearing Madeleine’s words and understanding where they came from, the other women didn’t respond. They all understood Alauna’s rage very well, because they felt the same rage.

All of them wanted to leave the mortal plane and go off to Dyon’s side. However, they knew that they couldn’t. If they just left, the mortal plane would be finished. There simply wouldn’t be anyone left who could deal with the coming catastrophe.

Plus, even if they left to the immortal plane now, there was no guarantee that they’d find Dyon in a short time. The Immortal Plane was so impossibly vast and the locations they would be teleported to would be random. Even if it was their husband… it would take him some time to become famous, right? It would only be then that they would find it a bit easier to find him.

Of course, they had no idea that, let alone famous, Dyon had already turned the Immortal Plane into a chaotic land. But, even if they knew this, the first reason still stood strong.

“… She really wasn’t satisfied after dealing with Emytheus…”

The lips of the women twitched when they heard Ri’s words.

‘Dealing with’? Is that what they should call that? It was more like a massacre. A continued, relentless, savage pounding. It was to the point where she healed him to his peak condition, just so that she could kick his ass again.

It sounded like a comedy special, but it really was anything but that. There was a long time where the women were scared that Alauna might lose her mind to her rage. Back then, if it wasn’t for all of them working together to contain her, the mortal plane might have been destroyed even before The Entity was close to waking up.

Even with their imploring attitudes, it wasn’t until Alauna paid a visit to The Entity’s prison in an attempt to kill it before it could awaken that she finally mellowed out. Though she never spoke about what happened then, it was clear that she had come back in failure.

After that, she aimed her rage toward the Sapientia. But, it was obvious that she was feeling helpless.

She wanted to make Emytheus die in regret for daring to scheme against her father like that, but she grew so powerful that he was weak to the point that defeating him wasn’t satisfying. She wanted to go to see her father after getting revenge, but she couldn’t leave because of The Entity. She wanted to kill The Entity so she could go after her father, but she was unable to do so.

It was blow after blow for a young girl who had been pampered since her youth.

Though Dyon was tough on her when it came to her training, she never minded because her father was still by her side. All the physical pain in the world didn’t faze her. But, this was different. She wanted to see her father, but she couldn’t. And, such a stifling feeling left her in a rage.

Now, the target of her anger, the Sapientia, were holing themselves up in their universes like frightened mice. And, completely out of Alauna’s expectations, she couldn’t break the formations that acted as their turtle shells.

By now, with her power, destroying an entire universe wouldn’t even take that much effort anymore. But, she would never do such a thing just for the sake of getting rid of the Sapientia. And, since their formations could survive her assault, there was a chance that even if she destroyed their universe… they would be just fine.

So like this, a vicious cycle began.

Every time Alauna felt stifled to the point of boiling up with rage, she would tear through space to appear in the territory of the Sapientia, unleashing all of her rage. And, every time, it would end in failure and she would return, her hatred simmering with nowhere to turn it.

**

Across the mortal plane, at that moment, it was possible to see the scene of a peerless beauty standing above the skies.

Her hair flowed like a mesmerizing platinum red. Her eyes, though a gold green, were tinted by a crimson that came from the depths of her heart.

Her dress fluttered in the skies as she sent a barrage of fists toward a barrier formed of hexagonal energy shields. With every strike, it seemed that the universe around her would collapse, let alone the planet the energy shields surrounded.

Eyes red with fury at yet another failure, the peerless beauty flipped her palm and a light soared out from her belly, forming the half-dead figure of a man with an ordinary appearance.

“Form another one.” The peerless beauty said.

Her voice was soothing beyond compare. Even in a rage, it seemed to calm the heart. Yet, to the half-dead man, he trembled ceaselessly.

One could tell by the still determined look in his eye that he still wanted to resist, that he still held onto his pride, but he simply couldn’t control the physiological responses of his own body. He didn’t shiver and tremble because he consciously felt fear, he did so because his body recognized the undeniable threat before him.

This young man was none other than Emytheus. He had thought that after sending Dyon away, he would be able to slowly recover and then seek revenge.

In truth, he didn’t care about Dyon’s family. After a while, he felt too ashamed to target them. He instead reaffirmed his dao heart and his resolve to defeat Dyon.

That was right. He was going to completely ignore Dyon’s family and his wives. If there was any danger toward Dyon’s family at all, it would have been from the Sapientia as a source. And, there was no doubt that the Sapientia would make a move.

But, who knew that just when he had fully recovered and was ready to prepare for his transcendence, Alauna would come and find him in a rage?

Not only did she defeat him, but she completely humiliated him, even to the point of healing him back to his peak several times, just so that she could continue to vent her anger.

And now… he was nothing but a doll for her to vent her anger on.

Gritting his teeth, Emytheus complied with Alauna’s orders, his resolve burning even greater in his heart. He would get his revenge one day.

With a thought, his massive platinum wings appeared on his back once again, stretching hundreds of miles to the left and right. Even in his sorry state, they still held an undisguised beauty and majesty that made the qi around them sing with pleasure.

But in the next instant… they were ripped off, only to be followed by a horrid, heart wrenching cry that sounded no different from a pig being slaughtered.

Blood flowed like a river from Emytheus’ back. The pain couldn’t even be described as just excruciating. His wings were connected to all the meridian pathways of his body. Having them ripped out like that, especially with how sturdy his meridians were, felt like having his tendons and ligaments ripped from him.

Despite his screams, Alauna hardly reacted before she tossed him back into her inner world.

She brandished the two massive wings like two swords and turned her attention toward the Sapientia Planet once more, her rage blooming as she began to madly swing Emytheus’ wings as though they were two platinum death scythes.
