Primordial Dimensions

Chapter 442: Ready to evolve

Chapter 442: Ready to evolve

Now that the last mission he was supposed to do was completed, Shane could purchase the [Basic-Gathering] knowledge crystal.

This was great, and he didn’t waste any time in requesting the funds from his family.

It was only then that Shane began to wonder how much funds they were left with in order to purchase so many overly expensive knowledge crystals and other items.

However, instead of being bothered about that right now, he rather returned to Umbra, by using several spatial portals one after another.

The lightning currents hadn’t hit him, making it possible for him to leave the King Serpents without any issue.

Now that he was done with the task at hand, Shane wondered what he should do with the egg of the King serpent!

He had no use for it, and because the system mission was much easier to complete than expected, Shane didn’t feel like destroying or leaving the egg behind either.

Sighing, he broke through the water surface as he met Umbra, only to take out the dragon seat boat from his spatial ring.

After that, Shane told Umbra and Viridy who were still inside the water, to return to his soul world.

His soulbonds did as they were told and he picked up the egg before they disappeared. He was now left alone holding a head-sized egg, shaking his head before he started the sea dragon boat.

Turning around the boat in a wide angle, he returned to the proximity of the King serpents, where Shane was still able to hear their loud roars filled with pain and agony.

As such, he simply released a faint amount of mana with which he enveloped the egg in his hand before he gently placed it onto the water surface.

In no time it sank, and the enveloped mana acted as a sensor, telling the King serpents that it was not far away.

After Shane was done, he inserted enough mana into the sea dragon boat so that it could reach its highest velocity. With that, he returned the egg to its rightful owner.

Meanwhile, hours passed and Shane completed many things as he was supposed to.

First, he had been able to purchase the knowledge crystal as promised, and quickly initiated Umbra’s quality upgrade to the [Extraordinary] quality.

With this upgrade, his first soulbond would be unable to remain inside the Basic dimension, which was however not an issue for now.

The problems would only arise once its quality had been fully upgraded, as the system would expel Umbra, and along with him, Jason too!

But that was not important because Shane had completed the tasks he was supposed to finish inside the Basic Primordial dimensions.

Now, he had to take care of his soulbonds’ quality upgrade and their evolutions before liquefying his own mana, which would finally help him enter the Master stage.

The liquefaction process was a necessary step to enter the Master stage, but at the same time, Shane knew that he would meet the Creator of the System and Primordial dimensions then!

As such, he was starting to become nervous.

It wouldn’t be long before he would receive the answers to all the questions he had in his mind.

At least, that was what Shane hoped. How could he have known that even more questions awaited him after returning from the Creator, whose strength nobody could even remotely measure or assess?

The moment Shane completed every task to increase Umbra’s quality, a dome of darkness had enveloped the 130-meter long body that was coiled up, preventing anyone from seeing something.

Yet, what Shane could feel of his first soulbond was its vibrant heartbeat that was filled with vigor.

However that was already everything for now, and before he would start the evolution for both Cosmo and Viridy, he wanted to leave the clear abyss ocean.

Even if the evolution process in its entirety was not special, Shane wanted to witness it in person, which was probably also the only step to activate their evolution, to begin with.

It had already been difficult to initiate Umbra’s quality enhancement without the system creating a highly purified pill out of the provided materials for him.

Thus, he had been forced to ask Aunt Loris to make a pill out of the things he had provided, without knowing what exactly she had to do.

There was no proper recipe she could refer to, and it was only because Aunt Loris was talented,  that she could create the necessary pill for Umbra’s evolution without wasting even an ounce of a substance as they had the exact amount of necessary materials, neither more nor less.

Shane was not sure how they would pull off such things after the system would completely vanish, along with his ability to see the outlines around items his soulbonds required to increase their quality.

It would definitely become more difficult to enhance their quality because he feared he would always lack one thing or the other, but that was not worrisome.

Rather, Shane assumed that the necessary items to increase a beast’s quality were used to force a ‘one rank’ upgrade, and that it was possible to increase the quality of a beast with single items!

The effect would be worse, but it made sense because beasts were unable to properly store away items they had procured in order to tell the system to make the quality upgrade pill.

Exactly the same applied to every other tamer, who didn’t have the system’s help but for Shane who could utilize it through the Innate Taming Skill!

Because of that, Shane had to change his mindset.

Thus, the moment he arrived at the Dimension portal, he felt like entering the neutral primordial dimension [Primordial shop].

Earlier, Shane had never visited the Primordial shop in person, and he had only used the system to sell goods.

However, now that his ability had changed, it was impossible for him to directly know what items his soulbonds required to increase their quality, let alone the amount and exact quality rank of materials.

Rather, Shane could only see them by activating his ability with a faint colored hue enveloping the goods he required.

This was already more than enough for Shane to be ready to spend a huge fortune in order to procure all necessary items.

Nobody knew how long the Primordial dimensions would remain active, allowing him to purchase the goods when it was required after all!

Having a stock of the high-ranked items his soulbonds required in the future was not a bad idea. It would help him plan well in advance and prevent the unwanted scenario of his soulbonds’ strength stagnating while he could advance without any issue.

With that plan in mind, Shane shook his head.

‘First the evolution, then the shopping spree!’

Right now, he was not as rich as before, and he had to request a transfer of funds from the Astral Starlight faction’s financial department.

This was a hassle, but after explaining the situation roughly which included the fact that an increase in his soulbonds’ strength led to a corresponding increase in his own strength too which was correlated to the soul world’s growth, the financial department had sent him a few million gold coins.

Apparently, the faction was still doing well which was mostly due to the Uniters that had sold everything they didn’t need anymore.

This included extremely rare items at the [Soul] grade, in addition to unique skill tomes that would lose their value in the future, either way.

Only the things they needed were to be kept in their possession, a decision which left a dull ache in the heart of Aunt Loris and Uncle Kai, who were known for storing the goods they had been proud to produce.

This was not something Shane would worry about, thus he emerged on Masua through the Dimension Portal, where he was greeted with a high gravitational force, and bright sunlight that scorched his fair skin.

His mask blocked the excessive sun rays, while he used the soul world to unleash the full extent of its energy absorption rate!

Huge streams of energy were directly led to Shane, who had already averted his attention to Cosmo and Viridy, both of whom had emerged from the soul world.

Both soulbonds knew exactly what was going on, but instead of releasing their evident joy, they looked at him with gleaming eyes, waiting patiently.

This caused Shane to smile, as he activated his ability before touching Cosmo first.

Upon touching his furry soulbond, he saw the image of a slightly larger form Cosmo could take. It represented the [Uncommon] evolution Cosmo could take, turning him into a normal Starlet fox.

The second image was a familiar picture because it was the Starlet fox, which was also one of the tamed beasts the Elus race’s emperor had.

Despite looking amazing, it was not Shane’s choice for Cosmo because they had increased the little fox’s quality to [Legendary] so that he could choose the [legendary] evolution path, transforming the Lesser Starlet fox into a Cosmic fox!
