Primordial Dimensions

Chapter 365 - No Holding Back

As he quickly lifted his head, he heard the AI announce his victory.

This caused him to smile brightly, disregarding the weird position he and Aisha were currently in.

Shane stood up, ignoring Aisha, who looked at him with a blush, completely forgetting that he had defeated her just a moment ago.

His mana consumption had been quite high, but that was not a problem because he could replenish it within a single second.

After transferring a single trace of mana from the Hidden Paradise's storage into his mana pool, it began overflowing with mana.

At the same time, his soul bound world was continuously absorbing the surrounding mana, quickly replacing the transferred mana from the hidden paradise with new mana.

He was sweating a little bit, but instead of feeling worn-out, Shane's current condition was at the peak.

Because of that, less than a minute had passed before he had taken a deep breath as he stood in front of Miriam.

"You remember your promise, right?" Somehow, Shane wanted to provoke Miriam, but no sooner had he uttered those words he had realised that this was evidently a stupid idea.

As such, he had to calm himself before he would say anything stupid.

When Miriam heard Shane she just nodded her head knowingly.

It was not difficult to decipher what Shane hinted at, and even Aisha knew about it.

However, her mind was already on a completely different level, oblivious to the fact that Shane didn't even need to take some time off before he would continue fighting.

They entered the combat ring without any time-off. Miriam had asked Shane if he needed a break to rest, but he readily denied it.

As such, she could only nod her head.

Inside the combat arena, a crimson red halbert manifested in her hand, as her eyes turned into yellow slits that reflected burning flames.

This caused Shane to halt in his tracks for a moment as he pondered about her eyes.

'Did her Phoenix fire transform by entering a new rank?' Mankind's knowledge about Innate Skills and affinities was shallow.

As such, nobody knew what exactly could happen if one were to finish a difficult mission to enter the next quality or rank in one's Innate Skill, ability, or affinity.

Thus, Shane could only estimate that Miriam's Phoenix fire had become stronger once again.

Fortunately, he saw this early enough, and it was no issue to determine that he had to pay more attention to Miriam than Aisha.

She wouldn't hold back because that was not her style!

Thanks to that, Shane knew that there was no way for him to hold back either, but that was not necessary.

As long as he could defeat Miriam in her current condition, the majority of opponents' participating in the Primordial tournament wouldn't be a problem to fight against.

In the end, only the topmost elite of the elites would be strong enough to defeat, or even kill him.

Shane's excitement intensified, and he couldn't help but sport a radiant smile while his eyes glimmered brightly.

The Invincible Scimitar had already manifested in his hand and instinctively his fingers curled against its hilt grasping it tightly, he could barely hold himself back from charging at Miriam.

Just before the AI initiated the start of the fight, Shane had shared a quickly devised plan with Umbra and Cosmo, who were ready to move out too.

They felt Shane's excitement and were also influenced by it.

Shane not only wanted to get Miriam to join his faction by defeating her but he also wanted to see whether he had just become the human race's most powerful prodigy within the basic dimensions.

This was something he had never expected to achieve so quickly, and the only young prodigies he had as opponents would be those who had already advanced to the Intermediate dimensions.

Nevertheless, he couldn't underestimate Miriam even for a single second, and the moment their fight started, his entire demeanor changed.

Shane had become serious within an instant. Exerting the [Light steps] movement technique, he was also inserting mana into the [Eagle eyes] skill that was passively activated.

Other than that, Shane had only activated the [concealment] skill, which made it more difficult for others to perceive his mana fluctuations.

At the same time, Umbra shot out of the Hidden Paradise, shrouding the entire arena in utter darkness.

This forced Miriam to rely on her mana fluctuations and senses to perceive Shane and his tamed beasts.

Meanwhile, Miriam could still be seen as her flames burned through the enshroudment, turning into a brightly lit torch in the darkness.

However, instead of allowing Shane's plan to succeed, Miriam could only smile lightly as she mumbled,

"Petty trick."

After that, huge wings of flames sprouted out of her back, allowing her to shoot into the air.

Suddenly, five spatial portals manifested right around her. Four of them were a pair of two, making up a total of two sets, while Shane emerged from one of the portals, slashing at Miriam.

Yet, instead of being surprised, Miriam's smile just widened.

Rather than backing off, Miriam simply thrust out with her halbert that was suddenly enveloped in a blazing flame, evaporating the darkness that was several meters below her.

The heat was unbearable for Shane, but his smile didn't waver in the slightest.

It was as if he had expected Miriam's reaction.

Suddenly the two of the five spatial portals disappeared while a total of three new ones appeared around Miriam.

One was right in front of Shane, through which he disappeared, while the blazing halbert followed him, passing through it as well.

However, just as Shane emerged out of the spatial portal that was connected to the one he passed through, another spatial portal manifested, leading him to a different position.

Miriam's mind was fully focused on the spatial portals around her, trying to figure out where exactly Shane will appear next, to thrust out even before he would arrive.

Unfortunately, this distraction made her forget about Umbra's existence. He was hidden by the shroud of darkness, preparing for the next attack.

As such, when half of the spatial portals disappeared, with Shane inside one of them, Miriam just realized that she had moved to the center of the combat arena with a total of three spatial portals around her.

Just at that moment, the shroud of darkness vanished, revealing several hundred highly compressed spears of darkness which Umbra had conjured in the time, both Shane and Cosmo had distracted Miriam.

With the several hundred highly compressed spears of darkness, Umbra's prideful roar resounded through the surroundings as he shot every single spear towards Miriam at once.

Some were shot through the spatial portals, reaching her first, only to be followed by the rest that shot towards her through the empty air without any hesitation.

Shane knew that if Miriam was unable to defend herself, she would die without question.

However, making a mistake and risking her life was not something the most powerful prodigy of the youngest generation would do!

He planned to attack Miriam, once she had successfully defended herself against the onslaught of darkness spears by using up a vast amount of mana.

Yet, what he hadn't expected was that Miriam's phoenix flames started to turn crimson as they erupted, filling her entire surrounding.

The illusion of a ginormous phoenix enveloped Miriam as a screech reverberated throughout the arena, filling every being with fear.

Even Shane's passive skill [Hunter's mind] was not strong enough, and a sliver of fear was instilled within him, as his eyes widened in shock.

"Is she comprehending a domain while being at the Expert stage?? Is she tired of living?"
