Primordial Dimensions

Chapter 295 - Preparations

Because the system mission Shane had obtained indirectly informed him that the RadiantRing shelter was about to face a huge beast tide, he had to give his utmost efforts to provide as much support as possible.

That was, if he wanted to save both the shelter, and solve his mission!

Nevertheless, the most important thing was to reassure that he and every single member of the Starlight guild would survive the beast tide.

If the chances to accomplish this were too low, Shane would rather leave and let the government take care of the beast tide.

This might be cruel, but Shane valued the Starlight guild members and his own life the most!

He was responsible for them, and his own life was worth that of several hundred Astral Artisans who were still working within the Hidden Paradise!

It was not problematic to tell them to leave the Hidden Paradise, but from his experience with them, Shane was able to tell that they would be reluctant to leave, some of the Artisans he had hired were on the verge of insanity after all!

Their determination to improve every single day had increased by a large margin since the day Igra's mana heart had awoken.

The Hidden Paradise had the same capabilities as Igra, yet, at the same time, it required fewer funds for its advancements thanks to the [Cultivation-stage] and [self-earned] discounts!

Not only was his soul bound world a great asset, but it also brought him a huge burden, which was the responsibility of ensuring the safety of every single being in this world.

After Shane had explained the whole situation to both the female shelter captain and the Astral Starlight faction, everything had to go fast.

Nobody was sure when exactly the beast tide would occur, but it would be in 71 hours at the latest, and it was more likely to occur sooner!

As such, the necessary preparations that had to be taken had to be processed quickly.

When he had explained the situation to the female shelter captain, Shane had also shared the fact that he had an Artisan hall that had more than a dozen [Tier-2 (Uncommon)] Unique ballistae with hundreds of magic bolts stored in their warehouse.

At the same time, he had also told her that they had a huge number of Mana-sphere crossbows with enough small magic bolts.

If one had enough mana to fill the Mana-sphere crossbow, one could kill a peak-Awakened stage beast!

Even someone at the Apprentice stage could shoot two to three bolts with the Mana-sphere crossbow and if one reduced the amount of mana required to inject into the crossbow, one would be able to shoot more often and kill several lower ranked beasts.

This was the only great news to the shelter captain, and Shane had refrained from telling her that he had a Greater Astral tower and the capabilities to build the Tagradar wall because of a simple reason.

The most common Tagradar wall was strong enough to defend against Superior beast's attack which was its greatest advantage in addition to its low costs.

If he were to bombard the female shelter captain with too much information, she might be unable to digest everything at once.

There were too many things happening at once already!

Furthermore, the Greater Astral tower and the Tagradar walls would require lots of time to be fully implemented into the already existing shelter wall and towers.

It would create more confusion if he were to mention them now and Shane was aware of this.

While Shane and the others had started their own preparation, which mostly included purchasing a huge bulk of [Tier-2 (Extraordinary)] armors, a few more weapons and a larger number of miscellaneous items.

It decreased his funds by quite a few gold coins, but he was able to provide everyone with the best equipment according to their preferred combat style that he could purchase within the Primordial Shops.

There might be [Tier-2 (Legendary)] items available for sale, but they were neither what Shane was searching for nor worth the price.

That was, at least, under his current circumstances.

Because the demand for 'Legendary' quality items was so high, their price had skyrocketed too, and Shane noticed that 'Extraordinary' quality items were not much worse in comparison.

At least, the price-efficiency ratio was acceptable to Shane!

In the end, Shane had a reserve of more than 5 million gold coins in his finances thanks to the small part of the Syldalyr Sand sales and his share of profit received by the sale of the goods prepared by the Astral Artisans.

He was saving up for his soul bound world's mana awakening which was one of the most important tasks he had at hand!

However, what astonished Shane was the fact that the Starlight guild members wanted to purchase their own equipment.

Upon hearing their wish, Shane had to explain to them that they had to fight with their life on the line because of his 'Hidden-Universal mission'!

As such, they had to accept the fact that he had purchased their equipment, even if they didn't like it.

It was obvious that Shane's gifts were precious and that everyone saved thousands of gold coins, but they had acquired their own funds thanks to following Shane.

If they were unable to help Shane even once, how else could they thank him for taking them with him to the underwater cave!

Shane, however, was not thinking like them because he believed that he and the Starlight guild members had helped each other within the underwater cave.

He was too weak to take care of the surrounding beasts by himself, while the Starlight guild would have never entered the underwater cave in the first place.

Nevertheless, there was no time to waste thinking about what had happened and what would happen.

The Starlight guild members accepted Shane's gifts reluctantly while trying to find out a way to increase their combat prowess to thank Shane.

"How about we purchase Skills? We have enough funds and a few powerful skills should be available for us? At least, those that are suitable for our occupations!"

It was only when Lias, the scout, had proposed this that the others began to smile.

With this task in mind, they had begun to search for suitable skills that might help them in surviving the next three days while supporting Shane with all their might.

At the same time, the Astral Artisans received a request from the government that was interested in buying all Unique ballistae, Mana-sphere crossbows, and ammunition manufactured by them.

There was no need to deny this, and after Talia had been sent the gold coins, Shane rushed towards the shelter's warehouse.

In front of it, he accessed the Hidden Paradise and pulled out the goods which the government had purchased.

With that, the system labeled the business to be concluded!

Several hours flew by and the mission countdown had decreased to [66h:45m:29s].

Two hours prior, the news of a large-sized beast tide had been released as the first group of beasts had begun to move towards the shelter.

The citizens had already fled through the Dimension Portal and reinforcement had arrived.

Unfortunately, the battle preparations were still ongoing and had not been finished yet, but this was not as bad as Shane had imagined it to be.

That was because Aisha and the Valkyries had emerged out of the Dimension Portal an hour ago, followed by Miriam, who was fully clad in a crimson red armor that released even stronger mana currents than [Tier-2 (Extraordinary)] armors!

Seeing them arrive made Shane sigh in relief and he had rushed towards them in order to inform them about the current situation.

They had thanked him before walking their own separate ways.

While Aisha would fight with her own group, Miriam, who was known for being a lonely wolf, was about to fight alone like usual.

However, when Shane had confidently told her that she would have to fight with the Starlight guild in the future, either way, Miriam was astonished.

'How can he be so sure that he'll defeat me in the future?'

It had been a long time since someone had dared to say such words straight to her face.

Yet, instead of feeling the need to beat him up in order to demonstrate her strength, she had just shrugged her shoulders before saying.

"Alright, then show me how powerful the Starlight guild is! However, if it's not up to my standard, I'll leave, and you can forget about the promise I made! I won't fight with those who are too weak, and are a burden instead of being helpful!"

When Miriam accepted his offer, Shane couldn't help but exclaim inwardly.

Inviting Miriam into his group, even if it was only for a single beast tide was much easier than he'd estimated!

With Miriam next to them, their chances to survive increased by a large margin, which, however, didn't mean that Shane wanted to rely on her!

Instead, Shane was confident in his own capabilities, even more so after he had purchased a few skills and a new martial art technique!
