Primordial Dimensions

Chapter 275 - Realization

The beasts that had ambushed them were not really strong.

There were several dozen Awakened stage vociferous bats, and Shane thought that the fight might have been interesting if he were to be alone.

However, that was not the case and the Starlight guild butchered them as if they were wild-stage beasts.

None of the vociferous bats was able to cope up with their opponents' superior strength, great teamwork, and affinities that they utilized.

Even Shane, who was targeted by those bats as he was the weakest opponent, had started a small massacre.

His mana purity had already reached 60% and the only characteristic he was lacking behind was his physique!

Nevertheless, this was not important because his physical strength was still more than enough against the vociferous bats.

Utilizing the Slaughterer's path technique, and a little bit of mana helped him, but Shane's combat prowess and perception were looked at with surprise.

The others had never seen Shane fighting against a beast, and the only time they had perceived his strength was when he had emerged behind Jack, who was demonized before Shane had knocked him out.

However, after they had figured out that Shane hadn't even started refining a flawed Expert stage physique, which had been visible on the [Body refinement] characteristics Shane had shared, everyone had been a little bit confused.

It was not difficult to understand that Shane was extraordinary!

Even according to Jack and Kylia's standards that were already high as descendants from big clans, Shane seemed unique.

He was not arrogant despite the fact that he had already established an Artisan hall that seemed to earn much more funds than every member of the Starlight guild that belonged to Shane as well..

Furthermore, he had already refined two perfect stages of his physique, which was something only a handful of humans would have attained until now.

Other than that, Shane's whole mindset and attitude felt like he would conjure a solution for emergencies that might occur.

Everyone thought that Shane was reliable despite the fact that they had known him only for a short time.

It didn't take long until the vociferous bats had been defeated, but the commotion they had caused was more than they had initially expected.

As such, they stored the bats' corpses before departing hurriedly.

Shane was not sure which exact tunnel among the several dozen, different sized and shaped tunnels he could see in the cave hall they were currently in.

There hadn't been any information about that on PrimWeb and they had to figure it out by themselves.

With that in mind, several hours had passed and their large group had already been through multiple cave halls.

They had marked every hall with a specific mark in order to know when they had entered that cave before.

It was possible and highly likely that the whole underwater cave's architecture was similar to a huge cobweb, where many tunnels led to the same cave hall.

Thus, marking every single cave and tunnel entrance specifically allowed Shane and the others to create a map of the entire cave!

During the last few hours, they had encountered several large beast groups at the Awakened stage which they defeated without many issues.

Shane had explained to Kylia about the mistakes she was making as the group's sole healer and he had started to guide her to his best capabilities!

He was neither a healer nor wanted to become anything like that but he was taught about the most important occupations from a young age nonetheless!

That meant he was aware of the basics an occupation had to focus on.

The others didn't need much help, but Kylia's mindset was trained on helping everyone, every single second.

As such, he had to change this slowly.

Shane told her many possibilities in which Kylia's mana could either be completely used up, or she would be too focused for a long duration, which would drastically drain her energy.

In these possibilities, he had used the worst scenarios that might occur considering her current state.

Thus, everything he said frightened Kylia, and Jack, who noticed this, wanted to intervene.

However, Lias held back Jack saying that Shane was attempting to fix the issue they had been unable to solve.

It was just that they didn't want to scare Kylia because she was just too kind and it would be painful for them to see her being overly frightened about possible scenarios!

Nevertheless, it was required and Shane, with his blunt honesty, was the perfect person to do this!

In the end, after a whole day had passed and they decided to rest, one could visibly perceive the changes within Kylia.

She had turned more serious and started to observe the whole group more intently, asking herself whether using her skills and mana was really necessary every now and then.

Kylia had already noticed since the beginning that she would have to take care of every single member of her team and that this task would be taxing.

However, after Shane had explained to her lots of things she had been unaware of, Kylia figured out that it wouldn't be as difficult as it had always been.

Using a healing skill to administer its effect over a wide area was useless if only one person was injured.

Furthermore, Kylia wasn't forced to heal everyone immediately after they sustained an injury, otherwise, the whole group would have relied on her too much.

Serious injuries had to be tended immediately, but letting shallow cuts and small injuries take their time to heal would help the whole group to become more resistant to the pain they had to endure.

This would make it possible for the group to retain the same combat prowess which wouldn't be possible if Kylia were to heal everyone immediately, only to fail a single time.

After having used up her entire mana pool, the member that wouldn't be healed immediately should have a drastically reduced combat prowess as one was unable to endure pain.

If their body was never forced to endure pain, how should they learn to ignore it?

There were many more examples and situations that Kylia had misinterpreted and she had to readjust her whole mindset about her tasks as the sole healer within a group of around 40 members!

Meanwhile, Shane got to know most skills Kylia was able to use which was also good in order to help her coordinate better.

This might be hard to do while fighting, but it would help her a little bit!

When they decided to rest, the group noticed that they had yet to encounter a beast at the peak-Awakened stage, let alone one of the beasts Shane had been talking about.

As such, they began to wonder how long it might take to find the cave hall with the Syldalyr sand inside!

Suddenly, they heard loud steps from the tunnel behind them and everyone turned around, completely on guard against all possible threats.

Yet, the scene in front of them astonished them more than a large group of strong peak-Awakened beasts!

A young-looking man, who wore shorts, a bright colored shirt, and flip-flops were walking towards them.

He was strolling around nonchalantly, only to see that Shane and the rest had created a small makeshift resting place in the middle of the cave hall he had entered.

"Have I turned insane or is this real???" The young-looking man shouted as he rushed towards their location.

Shane found that the man's appearance was somewhat familiar until he realized that he had seen that face on a certain forum thread on PrimWeb!

"Aren't you the guy that has been stuck in the underwater cave for more than 20 years?"
