Pokemon: Master of tactics

Chapter 64 - Pokemon Master Of Tactics: 64

1 hour later, in Alex's room.

Alex was unpacking the package he just received from Team Rocket Lackey.

The most important order was, of course, the Registeel metal piece. Alex wants to use it for evolving Scyther and increase his potential.

He took the Registeel metal piece out of the packet and put it in front of Scyther, who looked at this metal piece with enthusiasm.

Since Golbat evolved to Crobat, Scyther's confidence in defeating Crobat had declined. He knew that this metal piece could make him a lot stronger, and that's why he was looking so much forward to this package.

Alex said, "Scyther, you have to keep the metal piece on your body to be able to evolve."

Scyther touched the metal piece waited for the evolution, which didn't happen.

Alex, who saw this, said with a smile, "As far as I can know, you have to keep the metal piece close to your body for at least 1 hour to be able to evolve. Though it may even take as long as an entire day to evolve. So be patient."

Scyther picked up the piece of metal with his teeth and went to the armchair to sleep there. Although he prefers to sleep in the Pokéball, he wasn't able to wait until morning to start evolving.

Alex saw that Scyther would rather sleep uncomfortably than evolve a day later and shook his head.

After a few minutes, Alex and all of his Pokémon went to sleep together. Almost all of Alex's Pokémon prefer to sleep in their Pokéball than on Alex's bed. Only Ralts and the baby Pokémon Shieldon sleep next to Alex.

Although Alex feels weird that his Pokémon see him as her father (He is still not sure whether Shieldon sees him as his father or not), he can't say that it doesn't make him a little happy. Though he would never admit it.

In the middle of the night, Alex heard Scyther screeching loudly and woke up. Not only him, but Ralts and Shieldon also woke up due to the cry of Scyther.

Alex saw how Scyther, or rather Scizor, gave out a loud victory cry and said loudly, "Scy... Scizor, Shut up!! It's the middle of the night, and you're screaming around here like a madman. We can celebrate your evolution tomorrow. Now, go to sleep. "

Scizor noticed that he woke up Alex, Ralts, and Shieldon and said with the help of sign language, "Ohh... Ok, see you tomorrow."

Alex suppressed the feeling of getting up and screaming at Scizor and went back to sleep. But as soon as he wanted to go to sleep, he couldn't suppress his curiosity and looked at Scizor's info.

He saw the info from Scizor and was able to go to sleep comfortably. Now he has 3 Shallow Gold Pokémon, all of which are still young and can probably be further enhanced.

Early in the morning, Alex and his Pokémon woke up and had breakfast together.

Scizor and Crobat "discussed" who was now the strongest Pokémon while eating. And Ditto, Ralts, and Shieldon talked about miscellaneous things.

At breakfast, Alex thought about his next goal.

He heard that the Kanto rookie tournament would start within 25 days and that he had to register 3 days in advance to take part.

This Kanto rookie tournament takes place once a year and is organized by the Alliance to give rookie trainers a chance to show their talent to the whole world. Alex is sure that the reason Giovanni has his own rookie tournament is that the Alliance was able to find a lot of talented rookies with the help of this tournament, and he wants to copy this success too.

Alex lost to Maria and can't take part in the Boss tournament. But he can still take part in the Kanto rookie tournament since he has a new Alliance ID. Alex decided to take part in this tournament and to prepare for it here 10 days before he goes to Celadon City to register for this tournament.

Although Alex is not sure that he will be able to win this tournament, he thinks that he can make it into the top 10 relatively easily. And with that, he will win many valuable prizes.

The reason Alex thinks this is simple. Only trainers who are 17 years or younger are allowed to take part in this tournament. The reason why Alex doesn't presume that he can win is that some trainers start training their first Pokémon at the age of 13-14. Some start even earlier.

Although Alex is sure that he can defeat most of the trainers of these "experienced" trainers, there are some genius trainers who have managed to train their starter Pokémon to the elite rank within these 2 to 3 years of training time. For example, Brock (16) trained his Onix to the Elite Rank 3 years ago and was able to secure second place in this tournament.

When Alex has to fight such Trainers, he doesn't think he has a high chance of victory.

Although Alex thinks that even Brock levels his Pokémon relatively slowly, he has to admit that without combat training in the wild, it is difficult to level his Pokémon quickly. Especially if you don't burn money as swiftly as Alex.

After he decided to take part in this tournament, he thought about which TMs he should buy for Ralts and Scizor. The reason he's only buying TMs for the two Pokémon is quite simple.

Shieldon is still a baby Pokémon, and Alex wants to wait for him to grow.

Crobat got TMs last time, and Alex doesn't have enough money to buy TMs for all of his Pokémon.

And Ditto is Ditto.

Alex considered which TMs to buy. He picked out the TMs he found most important.

Ralts:

Protect (1,000 TR Points)

Shadow Ball (65,000 TR points)

Psych Up (1,000,000 TR Points)

Reflect (550,000 TR Points)

Will-O-Wisp (15,000 TR Points)

Thunderbolt (50,000 TR points)

Thunder Wave (10,000 TR Points)

Helping Hand (1,000 TR Points)

Scizor:

Toxic (5,000 TR Points)

Light Screen, (500,000 TR Points)

Sandstorm, (1,500,000 TR Points)

Thief (70,000 TR points)

Facade (7,500 TR Points)

Giga Impact (50,000 TR Points)

U-turn (25,000 TR points)

Alex would love to buy all these TMs, but he doesn't have enough money for that. Especially those valuable TMs are way too expensive for him.

He has to make a decision about which of these TMs he considers more important than others. He also has to factor in the price.

Alex estimates he can sell the other 5 Silver Pokémon for 400,000. Together with the money he already has, Alex is ready to spend 500,000 TR Points on TMs.

He pondered on which of these TMs he should buy with the money.
