Han ignored Gregory as he moaned in pain and then turned back to Risque. Luckily, she was in the middle of drinking her wine and she missed the jab that Han gave Gregory. He waited for her to finish while thinking. It seems he was right about his reputation preceding him. But he really never thought his image would become so different! A barbarian!? Really!?
Ah, whatever. If I have to change their image of me that will be too much work. Their opinions don’t really matter anyway. Han thanked Risque for her information and then he brought them back to the topic at hand. How were they going to get the badge?
Risque dropped her drink and looked serious as she spoke. She needed Han to know she wasn’t doing this to spite him or use him. It was just the rule that the kings put up for them.
“Before you can get the badge, you will have to perform one quest for the guild at least. The normal amount is meant to be five quests but for you, I’m sure you can just carry out one quest and get the badge. But before I can give you a quest, I need to take your reading and give you a Tier level. Do you mind?”
Risque said this while bringing out a ball from beside her seat. She dropped it on the table and then told them how the ball works. The ball was a special artifact that could carry out assimilation on adventurers and then rank them into tiers based on their skills and stats. Han immediately realized that this is what Rau told him about before. They will be sorted into one of five Tier groups. The stronger you are, the higher your tier.
The first people to do it were the siblings. Rau put his hand on the orb and the orb shined a dull white before disappearing.
“Tier 2. Impressive for someone that has never been an adventurer before and so young too. I think you can be something great in the future,”
Rau blushed as Risque said all this with a smile. She was so beautiful! Rau suddenly felt someone grab into his hand and hug it tightly and he looked to his side to see his sister Grey pouting while glaring at Risque. He smiled and told her to put her hand in the orb as well.
When Grey put her hand on it, the orb shined a duller white and disappeared. Risque clapped cheerfully and told her that she is a Tier 1. Grey smiled as Rau ruffled her hair in affection and told her she did a good job! Hehe. Her brother praised her!
Han couldn’t help but smile at their interaction. It reminded him a lot of him and Rina when they were still in high school. She used to be quite clingy, just like Grey. Wait, now that I think about it, didn’t that mean she had a crush on me from way back then? Han put his head in his hand as he groaned internally. How much of an idiot was he back then!?
Han straightened up and decided not to bother about it too much, he would go see her after this whole mission thing and finding Ratte. He kinda missed his girls. Han heard Risque telling Gregory that he should also put his hand on the orb and Gregory gently put it there before the orb glowed a bright white light and then went dark again.
Risque’s mouth formed into a surprised ‘o’. She had no idea that he was that strong!
“Tier 4! That’s very impressive! You’re in the highest level of white stars!”
Gregory shrugged and Han smiled as he has to stop himself from hitting his son on the shoulder. He was feeling this sense of pride for Gregory’s achievement! Like a father happy about how far his son has come! For him to grow from that small boy that only wanted revenge into someone that was this strong!
Han shook his head and came back to reality as he heard Risque telling him that it was his turn. And here lay the dilemma! Han was a king. No matter how you look at it, this orb will never be able to measure his power. Han’s power could possibly just break the orb if he tries to use it. One of the only things that could help Han right now was the [Ring of Invisibility] that he received from Quinthreath. That ring was supposed to reduce your power by 80% so that anyone that is looking at you will not know how strong you are. Han has been wearing that ring ever since he left his castle and now he just hopes that it will be able to fool this artifact as well!
Han pput his hand on the orb and it shone brightly before a loud crack resounded across the room and the light then died down! Han blinked and looked down at the long crack that was traveling from one side of the orb to the other. Fuck. Did the ring not work!?
The ring actually worked very well. This orb that Han was using was only calibrated to measure power up to the weakest king. But even if Han removes 80% of his full power he is still stronger than Quinthreath and the orb just couldn’t handle that much stress!!
Han looked up to see Risque blinking in surprise. Her mouth was hanging open and she didn’t look like she would be talking for a while. For someone to break the orb they must be as strong as Quinthreath! That means this man might be the number eleven on the ranking! He could become the next king! Risque cleared her throat and quickly got herself back.
Han began by trying to apologize for the orb but Risque didn’t care about that! It’s just an orb, we have a hundred of those!
“You are a tier 5! I didn’t know if I could just give you this mission but now I’m sure that you can handle it easily!”
Risque was quite happy about all this. She has been hoping someone as strong as Han would come around for a long time now and she will not let this opportunity go! Risque pressed a button on her table and told the attendant to send in the Wyvern party.
They were the strongest party in this guild branch and she called them because she needed them to be here for what would be happening next. Han rose a brow when Risque told him to be patient before she tells him about the quest he will go on. He agreed to wait and before long the door opened and a group of people came in.
There were three men and three women that came in. They all wore adventurer clothing and looked like they just geared up and came as quickly as possible. When the guild leader asks for your presence you answer her as quickly as possible!
Risque stood up as she introduced Han to the people in the room. The Wyvern group couldn’t stop looking at him in shock as they were introduced one by one. They couldn’t feel any power coming from him! It was like he was an empty black hole that nothing could escape from! This man is definitely a black star! There is no other explanation! How did a black star even find his way to their guild!? They haven’t seen one in hundreds of years!
The leader of the group was a woman with short black hair that framed her face on both sides. She had a mole under her left eye and it just added more to her beauty. She walked forward and shook Han’s hand once the introduction was done. Her name was Tyla and she has always wanted to meet a black star! She has heard a lot about them and she never used to believe the tales about how you could never understand how strong they were because you can’t feel their power. She always wanted to meet one because she wants to know how far she has to go before she can also be a black star, she has been a white star for hundreds of years and she wishes to go higher already! She wanted to understand exactly what she needed to do in order to get up to the level of black stars.
Tyla had a skill called [Power Scanner] that worked in almost the same way that orb from before works, except that her skill only worked with her as the benchmark! It would tell her how many times stronger or weaker than her someone is!
Tyla activated this skill once she touched Han, and she finally understood what all those people were talking about. She couldn’t feel anything coming from Han at first, but once she was scanning him, she could feel an immense pressure coming from his body! Like a mountain that was about to crush her!
Even when Han was using his ring to reduce his power output, Tyla still couldn’t fathom the amount of power she could feel coming from him! He was strong! Unbelievably strong! Almost a thousand times stronger than she currently was! How is this even possible!? What kind of a man is this!?
