Chapter 570: Chinese Herbal Drink.

One after another, Luo Fang’s top management personnel expressed their views and solutions.  Ultimately, they all settled down and waited for Xiao Luo to make the final decision.

Xiao Luo’s tapping hand on the desktop stopped and he stood up from his seat. He said in agreement, “What everyone said is very reasonable. I summed up three key terms; habit, trust and price. Let’s talk about the price first. What Minister Li said just now is quite right. If we engage in the price war, we will definitely lose.  Sumir’s own economic strength is strong enough. Coupled with Huayao Group, our assets are not enough to compete against the two. If a price war does start, it will only end up with our defeat; so, it doesn’t make much sense to lower the price of our products.”

The others also agreed while taking notes.

“But…”  Xiao Luo smiled, “a price war is not necessarily a competition for whose price is lower, it can also apply to whose price is higher.”

‘Whose price is higher?’ 

‘Is this a theory? Would we have an advantage and attract more customers by raising the price?’ 

The staff were confused and couldn’t grasp their boss’ intention.

Xiao Luo continued, “Our current bread, pastry, etc. should be on par with Sumir. Therefore, we need to launch a product with absolute advantages against Sumir, which will then bring the term ‘habit’ to the customers in the long term. Can a bakery only sell bread and cakes? We’ll let this drink become our main product, and only promote the sales of bread and cakes along with it. “Big boss, this idea is good; however, at the end of the day, we are a baking company. No one here is an expert in Chinese apothecary. Do you want to invite doctor(s) to join us?”

Luo Qi was the head of the R&D department. Her department was in charge of producing new products. But she wasn’t knowledgeable in Chinese apothecary, not to mention a drink, which was not her area of expertise.

“En.  Moreover, if we do manage to develop such a product, how do we promote it and let the people of Xia Hai believe that it has such an effect?” Li Zimeng also raised her questions. Communication was key in a successful company.

Xiao Luo smiled, “I will personally lead the research and development of the Chinese herbal drink(s). As for the publicity and promotion…” His eyes landed on Cang Jiamei, Minister of the Propaganda Department. “Minister Cang, I’ll hand this task over to your department. I have some connection with Guo Taining, the Dean of the Municipal Women’s Insurance Institute. You can reach out to him. He has a wide network of contacts in the medical field. Xiao Luo didn’t care much about his pestering though, and simply focused on studying several traditional Chinese herbal combinations; extracting their essences by heating at high temperature for fusion.

Luo Qi was also amazed, “Big boss, you are far too knowing. If I can marry an excellent husband like you, I am willing to bear a lot of babies for him!”

She also agreed with Zhang Dashan and thought that Xiao Luo really seemed to know everything. This further deepened her worship for Xiao Luo.

Xiao Luo just smiled, and didn’t comment. Even if he did know, it was still not that simple for him to develop good and effective health care products. There were many aspects to consider in the integration of traditional Chinese herbal, such as whether the medicinal properties would be rejected; whether the effect after the integration would be enhanced or weakened, or whether it would have toxic effects on the human body.  He must consider every aspect and approach carefully. This was science, it needed numerous trials and errors.

Five days later ‒ the Chinese herbal drink(s) were successfully developed!

More than a dozen volunteers were randomly selected to have a drink of it every morning. And after three days, they were examined at the hospital. Both the participants’ blood lipids and blood pressure obviously returned within normal range. Those with hypertension came back with lower blood pressure results; whereas, those with hypotension had their blood pressure returned to normal range. This was not just a simple adjustment, but a comprehensive recovery!

In addition, the Public Relation department were also done with their promotional plannings, and everything was in place and ready. Guo Taining recommended Luo Fang to enlist the president of Xia Hai Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital as the spokesperson for the product. In addition, it would be good to get a certification from the Food and Drug Administration as proof that the product was tested and certified by the Chinese Medicine Hospital. Overall, this traditional Chinese herbal drink would be recognized as authentic.

Once the advertisements started circulating, it convinced Xia Hai citizens to buy their products. While buying up this new traditional Chinese herbal drink, the customers also conveniently bought a lot of bread and cakes. These certainly turned over Luo Fang’s sales drought.

After the citizens had personally experienced the efficacy of the drink, its popularity started to spread through word of mouth, and more and more citizens headed towards Luo Fang stores to get one for themselves.

Luo Fang’s sales continued to increase, and it was about to overtake Sumir.
