Origin Court: Accepting Disciples With A System

297 Dragon Emperor, Silent Mutilation

In the Dragon Emperor Palace, what Long Guang did was first find out about his uncle’s situation. For the few years that he had been away, he wondered if he was still alright. After all, the poison that was stuck within him should be more fatal than he could imagine. He heard that even the Dragon Ancestor was unable to cure that old man.

He was somewhat sad but it wasn’t time for that. It was important to check his situation first and find ways to cure him. That was why he needed to search for his master. Other than his master, no one could possibly cure his uncle.

The Dragon Emperor that he knew was persistent so he must still be hanging on his life. Long Guang knew his uncle best. He was childish but he had the tenacity that no other dragons had.

“I hope you’re doing okay, uncle,” Long Guang muttered to himself as he sped towards the room where the Dragon Emperor was situated.

While the Dragon Ancestor was caressing his son’s face, he noticed an approaching aura that he actually felt danger from. It was the kind of instinctive peril he would feel, an inexplicable one. This was exactly also something he was afraid of falling into. After all, now that his son was in this state, he did not want to fight. He only wanted to protect his son to the bitter end.

“Rest easy, ancestor.” From where the Dragon Ancestor was looking, he saw the appearance of a kid that was only about fourteen to fifteen years old. He was not anymore tiny and even had some muscles. “I mean no harm to uncle. I’m just here to visit him.”

The Dragon Ancestor, however, did not acknowledge him and said, “What are you doing? Who are you? Why are you calling my son your uncle? Are you related to him?”

Long Guang sighed upon hearing the series of questions from the Dragon Ancestor. Although he became the Dragon Son, that was not too long ago—and at that time, the Dragon Ancestor did not bother coming out at all. Therefore, he never knew or saw the face of the Dragon Emperor Palace’s Dragon Son.

“Do not take offense, ancestor. I am the chosen Dragon Son by uncle. He is hoping for me to inherit his mantle after seeing my talent. After ascending here from the lower realms, it was uncle who took me in and raised me as a kid. I am indebted to him. Although I can’t be of much help, I know someone who may be able to help him,” Long Guang said. “You need not hesitate. This someone is actually my master. He is extremely powerful. Even the void beasts that we encountered are no match for him. I also don’t know what realm master has reached. However, I am certain that he already surpassed all of us by a large margin…”

When the Dragon Ancestor heard what Long Guang said, his expression softened, and looked at Long Guang tenderly. His eyes no longer carried animosity. “So, that’s how it is… I’ve been told by him that he accepted a successor, but I paid no heed as I was too focused on my seclusion. Although I ignored him, I have great faith in my son’s judgment. Truly… what a talent… I can’t even read through your cultivation now…”

“That’s only natural, ancestor. I’ve been in seclusion for about three years and have just recently come out after I was besieged by the Dragon Princes because of the war for the throne. Now, they’re chasing me. However, I am not here to find shelter. I am only here because I think I can help uncle by finding my master. Other than my master…”

The Dragon Ancestor shook his head and stared back at his son. “There’s actually no need for that. I have a friend of mine from one of the temples. He already asked the Temporal Lord to lend me some help. The Temporal Lord said he can cure my son, so I got my brother to go back there after activating the Paramountcy Vessel’s functions.”

“I see,” Long Guang replied, not trying to refute. Since there was a way, it was not anymore necessary for him to find his master. However, he kept on feeling that something wasn’t right. “Ancestor, I don’t why but I have a gut feeling. It seems like something isn’t in place. However, you don’t have to worry about it. It’s just a gut feeling. How can a child like me who has no experience in things like this have this kind of gut feeling?”

The Dragon Ancestor looked at Long Guang and nodded his head. “Remember, while I am guarding my son here. I implore you to stabilize the situation of the Dragon Emperor Palace. Since you have become the successor, it is only natural for you to partake in this duty.”

“Yes, ancestor,” Long Guang answered with a reassuring tone. After he clasped his hands and bowed at the Dragon Ancestor, he left the room and sped back to his own building which was nothing more than a desolate place.

Through the cautiousness he had developed, he felt like something did not sit well. He had heard about the Paramountcy Vessel from the Dragon Emperor. The latter told him that one of its functions is to bring people to the lower realms. It also had other functions that even the latter did not know. Long Guang was perplexed but this feeling he had seemed to be linked with what the activation of the vessel was all about.

Why would they ask first to activate the Paramountcy Vessel before giving the antidote? How hard was it to give the antidote if they really had one? Moreover, there was something important to note when it came to the vessel.

The Dragon Emperor, his adoptive uncle, told him that once all of the functions of the vessel are activated, it could never be turned off unless its goal had been achieved. As for what this goal was, he said it meant destruction and reconstruction. The Dragon Emperor did not know about any of these; let alone Long Guang who just lived in Da Shikong for only a few years.

However, he felt like he needed to get to the bottom of this. While he was strong, against something he didn’t know—who knew what surprises this could give him?

“But first, let’s settle the Dragon Princes. I don’t want them to make any further ruckus anymore. Based on what I can observe on what they did to my building and all the blood was spilled, it seemed like they killed all of those who were assigned for the maintenance of my property.” Long Guang, being a dragon himself, who was quite protective of his things, was pissed off.

Calming his emotions down, he first thought about which of the Dragon Princes he should first attack. With a serious look, he sent his mental power out of the building and saw that there were already a lot of their people waiting for him to come out—they were trying to ambush him. Approximately, they had a hundred men outside, with ten of them being at the peak of the Saint Emperor Realm.

“Hmph! As if I’d let you!”

“Dragon Emperor Scripture,” Long Guang muttered. “First Roar, Silent Mutilation.”

Silence ruled the whole building. For a second, everyone who was stationed outside felt death, and in that exact second, before they could react, they found their bodies slowly butchered into pieces—from their feet to their heads. And just like that, the 100 men met their doom.

 TAP.

“It’s the first time I used one of the moves of the scripture that master gave me. You’re all lucky to experience it before you all met your death.” Long Guang grinned. Although there were several peak Saint Emperors among them, they were weak. They were not needed in this world only befitting for the strong.
