Origin Court: Accepting Disciples With A System

278 Yang Fei I

Sheng Ao’s eyes went wide as he looked at this mysterious being in front of him. He was confused. “Why would you take me in as a disciple with this state of mine?”

“You have a strong fate with you. I know that once you soar again from the ashes, you will become stronger than ever before. Trust me. I can give you all you want, while also not restricting the freedom that you have before,” Yang Lujia said, enticing this very soon-to-be-disciple of his to rally by his side. “If you refuse, however…”

“I accept!” Sheng Ao felt that it was sensible to acknowledge a mysterious master like this. At the very least, what he wanted the most would be fulfilled—and that was to prove himself that he wasn’t wrong. After that, he would follow this master of his who had given him this opportunity to turn the tides.

He had his own pride, despite the invisible halo above his head.

Yang Lujia nodded his head as he smiled in satisfaction. He wondered what kind of rewards he would get after he accepted this new disciple of his.

[Ding! Congratulations to the Host for obtaining your fourth disciple, Sheng Ao! Rewards: Golden Lotus Scripture, Beads of the West (Heaven-Ranked Divine Artifact), and Two Chances to Draw from the Wheel of Fate!]

“No bottle of elixirs or something?” Yang Lujia was somewhat disappointed. However, seeing that he now had the chance to draw from the Wheel of Fate once more, compensated for his disappointed feelings. “Fortuniel, I still have two unused chances to draw from the Wheel of Fate, right? Can I still use them to draw now?”

“Yes, you may, Host,” Fortuniel replied in his monotone voice, but there was a tinge of childishness from it. “Do you want me to perform the drawing now, Host?”

“Not yet,” Yang Lujia said as he suppressed his expecting heart over what he could draw from the Wheel of Fate, which was called one of the top 10 wonders of the world. He then looked at his new disciple, kneeling in front of him. “You have your cultivation crippled. I already thought of something that can heal you. It’s said to be the Nine-Leaf Nirvana Herb. Let’s go first to a place where I can inquire more information about your situation.”

Yang Lujia and Sheng Ao disappeared from the cage. Unknowingly, a person emerged from the ground of the cage as he looked at the disappearing duo. Only Yang Lujia knew who this was. This was the same person as the one he just took in as a disciple—the difference only being that this one was a decoy to make the Holy Light Emperor believe that his most important was still there.

Sheng Ao’s mind was filled with wonder as he looked at how the event that his master employed happened so fast that he could not even start to imagine it. They were just at the edge of the Sacred Region earlier but miraculously reached a Sacred City in no time with just a grab from his master.

He did not even feel nauseous—completely understandable because it was only a short duration that Yang Lujia brought him from one place to another. If it was any other place very far from where they came from, with his mortal body currently, he would have vomited or worse, faint.

However, this wasn’t what concerned Sheng Ao. He was more curious about his current master. Even the Holy Light Emperor could not do what he did. Was he some hermit expert that had only chosen to come out now? If he was some hermit expert, why did his master look so young? Even younger than him who did not even reach the age of 50?

As his mind gradually settled down, Yang Lujia brought him to the Adventurers’ Association. This was the same association that Yang Lujia had acquainted himself with. However, this time, he did not choose to enter through the front door. Instead, he immediately teleported to the room where the leader of the association and the lady before were usually talking.

“What do you think of him?” the Association Head asked the lady in front of him, who was drop-dead gorgeous from head to toe. “You know, he had managed to rein me into his side. Regardless of his goals, I support him. I feel like even the main branch would be no match against him.”

“I think so, too,” the lady replied. “That’s why I also want to take the initiative and… and… mar—”

The Association Head laughed at her, wherein this usually cold-faced girl was now glowing red due to her feelings for that man she just met.

“A-Although…” She coughed and looked at the Association Head in determination. “Although we only met a few times, I could feel that only he could conquer me, other than the one that dreaded me the most in the rankings. Moreover, I like men like him… calm and…”

“Calm and…? May I have the honor to join your conversation, o Association Head and this beautiful Counterlady?” A man suddenly appeared beside the lady as he sipped a bit from the coffee prepared for the former. “Association Head, long time no see…”

The Association Head was terror-stricken at first and sighed the moment he noticed the arrival of a man that he never expected to appear. “Young Head Linghu Fan, you came here again unattended. What do you want this time?”

“Nothing… I just want to visit this lonely little girl here who apparently had someone in her heart already… Sigh… my little sister has actually fallen…”

“Fuck off!” the lady shouted as she tried to push him off the couch, but could never make him budge a bit. “Linghu Fan, know your bounds! Even if you’re my big brother, you should know your limits… “

“Limits?” Linghu Fan stared hard at this sister of his. “Who is this someone who talked about limits with me when she was intending to marry someone unknown to his father and big brother?”

Hearing the tease from his big brother, her ears turned bright red. “S-Shut up!”

“What you talked about earlier. Was it him? The one you always admire?” Linghu Fan’s face turned grim as he thought of the man who even he could not defeat. “I admit that he’s very strong but he has to go through me first.”

The Association Head did not know what to say and turned to look at Linghu Fan. “Young Head Linghu Fan, your little sister isn’t in love with that ‘man,’ she was infatuated with somebody else who just came here days ago. He was the one who was able to split open a part of your little sister’s heart. Moreover, compared to that man, I don’t know who’s overwhelmingly more powerful, but I feel like he could defeat him with ease… he could even kill those at the Saint Emperor Realm as if they were ants…”

Linghu Fan’s blood turned cold as he looked at this little sister of his who was infatuated with another man yet again… and this time, this man was even stronger than the previous one. “Are you sure about this? Although I don’t like Yang Fei, I think he better suits you than someone whom I don’t even know. I haven’t even seen his face. Moreover, Yang Fei did not even have feelings for you. What made you think that man would like you as well?”

“He’s different! I can feel it!”

“Linghu Ran, raise your horses. Do not fall for somebody just like that. What’s his name, anyway?” Linghu Fan turned to look at the Association Head.

The latter shook his head and said, “You don’t even want to know his name. He’s got the same surname as Yang Fei. His name is Yang Lujia.”

Linghu Fan’s eyes turned wide when he heard the Association Head’s words. “Don’t play tricks on me,” he solemnly said.

The Association Head once again shook his head. “I’m not tricking you or anything, Young Head. He is truly called Yang Lujia, or at least, that’s what he calls himself.”

“If they’re really blood-related, I suppose he also has the same eyes as Yang Fei. Purple. Yang Fei once said that only those of their descendants could have the same eyes as him and battle prowess like no other.”

“Who is this Yang Fei you spoke of? I’m interested.”
