Origin Court: Accepting Disciples With A System

268 The Fallen Genius

Facing such a dilemma, the two clans seemed to have reached a conclusion. In the end, Patriarch Hao had to end his farce and swallow all the rage accumulated in his insides. Stimulated by his son’s death, he knew that it was only natural for a father like him to feel that. Completely valid.

But he was not entirely unaware of his son’s behavior. That son of his was an offender of anyone in the city just because he had gained his status. Partly, somehow, he had realized that it was his fault and no one else’s.

Sighing, he calmed himself down and looked at Patriarch Du thoughtfully. “You’re right. We should not have acted according to our emotions.”

“What we did is pretty normal for a response. Wanting to exact revenge for our sons’ death is by no means wrong. It’s just that we did not dig well on this matter and directly barked and ended up barking at the wrong fortress,” Patriarch Du replied.

Seeing the two of their patriarchs reaching a consensus at the moment, some of the elders around were silent while some were affirmative of the decision they made. Most of them had been scared shitless of what happened back there. Just the amount of power needed to kill someone with just a gaze wasn’t something even their patriarchs were capable of.

Moreover, from the shocked expression of the Association Head when he was discovered by the young man, the latter might be even stronger than they thought he was.

Meanwhile, Cardinal Lin was trying to pacify Saint Prince Huang’s thirst for Lan Mingyue. He even detained him for being insolent and not following his instruction. It had to be known that he had the highest authority in this region.

And Saint Prince Huang was acting out of place. It was necessary for him to detain him.

Lan Mingyue and her mother were thankful for Cardinal Lin. Although the latter was injured badly by Saint Prince Huang, he still did not back down and helped them resolve this matter. However, Saint Prince Huang gave a warning that after his breakthrough, he would free himself from detention and go pursue Lan Mingyue again.

He was so strong. Not even Cardinal Lin would be his match if his subordinates did not help him quell this young man. He was indeed worthy of being a Saint Prince of a large palace. Cardinal Lin was somewhat worried about what will happen, so he hid Lan Mingyue in his place and did not intend to let her go out.

Moreover, he also helped stabilize the condition of her father and also did not let their Grand Elder off.

Cardinal Lin was filled with the air of righteousness. No one dared to question his sense of justice and the Grand Elder was even more speechless about what transpired.

“You will really pay for this! Once the Human Emperor descends here, it will be the end of you!” Grand Elder Lan shouted as he pointed at Cardinal Lin. “They’re supposed to be guests but you actually detained them!”

Shaking his head, Cardinal Lin did not concede to these taunts. He had his own principles and these principles came from the Holy Light Emperor himself. He would not sully his principles just because of some guest.

A boy with a bald head was fetching two buckets of water, climbing several steps before arriving at his destination. He had no cultivation and was only considered a mortal. Hence, he would stop from time to time to take a rest.

“When is this going to end?” the boy muttered. “I didn’t do it. I swear I didn’t. Why would you believe him rather than me?”

His life was hanging on a thread. Just a breath from anyone would blow him away to death. He still had the strength to carry something as heavy as a bucket of water, but it was only up to that. Anytime around, he knew that he was going to die, but he was not convinced.

He was once hailed as the strongest genius only second to the Holy Light Emperor. The latter had high hopes for him, but it was also the latter that thrashed him and sent him here to the Second Region, detested and hated to the core by the Holy Light Palace’s people.

People adored him for being strong. People adored him for the light he was able to give them. People adored him for his healing ability which was more efficient than that of others. He was also the only one who cleared three Transcendent-Level Sacred Areas, directly hailing him as the only Holy Son!

But they did not expect that he would actually dirty his hands for a girl.

However, although his reputation was destroyed, there were still others who believed he did not do something like that and that he was only framed. Until now, there were still people who rallied and even died for him, just to get to the bottom of the truth.

Thinking about how devoted they were to him, he clenched his fist, his lifeless eyes gaining another color of resolve.

“If I can get out of here, I will not take revenge. I will only save them from damnation,” he uttered. “I am not thirsty for revenge. I only wanted to clear my name and save those people who framed me up from becoming heartless machines.”

As he said these, he continued walking up the stairs and arrived at his own hut. He had been training his body here. Although he found this situation hopeless, he knew that at one time, the gods would heed his prayers and someone or something would eventually save him and them.

Looking up at the skies while lying on the bare ground, he said, “I am what they say the fallen genius. But am I really the fallen one?”

Early in the morning, Yang Lujia and his companions woke up under the sunlight’s shining rays. When he heard the commotion outside the inn, he smiled widely and said to Brownie and the others appearing right in front of their beds like a ghost, “The show has started. They’re here.”

“…”

As they only woke up recently, their minds were still blank. Yin Hang did not even bother and only went back to sleep after hearing Yang Lujia’s voice. Even Cao Xing slept as though she did not hear anything from him.

Sighing, Yang Lujia was hopeless and only brought the sleeping Brownie in his arms and went down to the inn. Crowding inside the inn, the people brought so much stress to the innkeeper lady. She looked ragged and did not expect that some mighty figures (to her) had come to her inn and paid a visit unexpectedly.

She even thought she was going to faint. She did not want to offend any of them.

Yang Lujia’s body turned transparent as well as Brownie’s. He first observed the surroundings before finally letting them see him.

“Innkeeper, we know that you’re hiding him! We want to see Master Yang! He’s the savior of our family’s young masters! We can’t thank him enough!” Patriarch Du was all tears, pleading in front of the innkeeper.

The innkeeper was shocked that she did not dare utter a word.

It happened with Patriarch Hao as well. The sincerity was overflowing from within them and kept on whining like children who wanted to find their parents because they lost their way.

“Please! I beg you!” Patriarch Hao knelt in front of the innkeeper. Young Master Hao also did the same as was so for Young Master Du.

Everyone inside the inn who was only there for gossip exploded and went out to bring the news to everybody. They did not expect that the two patriarchs of the largest clans in the city actually knelt in front of a mere innkeeper just to see that young man that offended them!

Moreover, what was even more explosive was that Young Master Hao and Young Master Du seemed to be alive and well.

“What the hell happened?” Even the Association Head felt like a bomb exploded in his mind.

He was only talking leisurely with the young lady in front of him when his subordinate suddenly barged in and told him about this news.

“What the hell did he do?”

Even the young lady was extremely perturbed and shocked to the extreme.

“What are you doing?” Brownie asked. He opened his eyes slowly the moment he noticed that Yang Lujia had gone invincible while looking at the expressions of these pathetic people.

“For fun. Not every pleasure is sinful, right?” Yang Lujia replied, smiling.
