One Piece: Gambling to The Top

Chapter 212

After moving out of Dressrosa, Josh stopped by a near-commercial country to sell the gold he has, and he got another 20 Billion Berries. Giving him a total of 35.000 Draw Points. 

At this rate, Josh can turn his girls to deal with Admirals soon. Let alone him. Viola, his new member, seemed to have a good strong foundation, so spending enough epic-excellent rank can increase her basic power by folds, and thus, will raise her level to be a good combatant. Barely 500-1000 points are very good for her. But Josh felt that he should know her better before investing. 

Before moving to Big Mom's place for the Birthday Party, Josh and his group decided to stop and have a small break. Josh ordered some coffee, and the rest of the girls left for shopping. While sipping, Josh looked at how many points he has. 

He realised that he had spent too much money on himself, and he decided to turn to the waitress, asking her. 

"How much is for the coffee." 

"2 Berries." 

"That's like one of three of its original." Josh tilted his head. 

"It seems that the money was disappearing. At first, everything got higher. But then the prices got so low." 

"Okay." 

Josh nodded to himself. 

Had he stolen the gold, then everything would be expensive, since the currency needs gold to support its value. 

But since Josh stole the Berries and made that money vanish, the whole economy of the world was affected. There was less money, but more gold to support it. And thus, the Berries value got higher. 

Josh suddenly felt sore in his heart. 

'So, one Draw Point is more expensive than it used to be in the past.' He took another sip of the coffee. 'I feel that I'm being robbed.'  

Letting a sigh, Josh decided to use this time to increase his power. The amount of the money he has may allow him to turn a regular citizen, who had never trained, into someone at an Admiral's level. 

After the girls came back, Josh noticed how happy they are. The reason they are happy was because of the discounts on the clothes. Viola, since she had come without picking up her clothes, was the most one in need of shopping. 

"Alright. Time to move." Josh said as he gave them their back. 

"Mmm…"

"Okay. Are we going to Big Mom's place?" 

"Yes." Josh turned to Viola and extended his hand. There was a small cup, and it contained a few drops. Two red drops and a blue one. 

"What's this?" Viola understood and took the cup.  

"If you drink it, you have to keep it a secret." Josh smiled. "Nothing to be afraid of." 

"As if I can do something you don't want to," Viola said. Her country is under Josh's protection, so there is no way she can disobey him. Unless she is stupid. 

Closing her eyes, she drank the thing. Somehow, it was horrible and good at the same time. But in the next second, she felt everything was getting different. 

Her vision range extended, and she could see things clearer. "My power…" 

"It's increased by 125%. And you can swim." Josh said casually. 

Because when he gets repeated things in higher packages, Josh had plenty of those. Of course, he can't get Legend rank in packages. But never mind. 

"Can swim!" She exclaimed. "And I can see this far." Viola felt her ability extended. She could see everything in the 1000 km range, and it didn't bother her. 

Blinking twice, her eyes shone in purple, and she could see what was inside of everyone. Looking at Mikita's head, she could see what's in her head. 

'Something so kinky.' Viola covered her eyes. Usually, she would have to join her thumb and index together to do this. 

Mikita walked by her and patted her back. "You'll get used to this." 

"Fufufu…" Robin chuckled a bit. "You won't get used to it. Right, Josh." 

"Right." Josh yawned. He then walked toward his ship, where the snake had been waiting. "By the way. We have to buy a gift for Big Mom. Marianne." 

"Yes, Daddy." 

"Draw a copy of the Poneglyph," Josh smirked.  

"Okay." Marianne reached her back and took the Creation Paper, and started painting. 

"Not here, in the ship," Josh said. 

Big Mom had the best info gathering network in the world. In the Anime, she could collect info about an isolated country from the world, let alone here. 

Josh then got to the ship, and he directed the sails in Totto Land. He adjusted the speed to be slow, so he may arrive one day and a half later when the party starts. 

Josh asked the girls to not disturb him for now, since he needed some time alone, to sit by himself and think of what to do. The ship sailed, and Josh rested in the cabin, drinking a bit of wine. 

He had been quite angry ever since Big Mom sent Pekoms. And since Josh could read thoughts, he could tell why he was invited, and that they are willing to hurt Vivi. 

Josh had been a friend with her during his days in Alabasta, owning the casinos. She was a good girl… too bad he hadn't had the chance to talk to her ever since he had become a wanted. 

Josh put a hand on his shoulder, and he growled a bit. 'Calm down… calm down…' it may not be noticeable, but his strength was raising too much. His constitution gives him the power to turn emotions and pain into power. Ever since he had gone Berserk, Josh tried to calm himself. 

"All of this anger." Josh clenched his fist. "Will be repaid." 

All he ever wanted is to have a peaceful life, a rich one with the help of the system. 

But everyone must stand in his way. 

First is the World Government. 

And then Akainu. 

And once Josh had thought that he can have some fun, the last person he had expected to interfere in his life, Big Mom, came into the picture. 

Josh took the glass of wine and stared at his reflection. His face isn't the same as when he had come to this world. 

In the beginning, when Josh had been in Baroque Works, he had been conscious of his actions, and how delivering weapons to rebels would affect the innocents. He had felt so wrong to the point he had betrayed Crocodile earlier than he had planned to. 

But with time, Josh had his first kill when he stabbed people from the back. And then he had cut his enemies into very small pieces. The taste and the look of the blood seem no longer to be effective. He had even come into peace into killing enemies that he had attacked first. 

He had dehumanised Kid but didn't do the same with Enel. One can say that warriors have to accept death.  

Now he is going to the party for blood, to get rid of the pain in the ass. He will attack a country under Big Mom. Many innocents are living there, and they may get caught in the war. 

Josh stared at his reflection. 

The old him will think if this is the right thing to do. 

But the current him had one idea. 

"Does it even matter what I think is right or wrong?" Josh let a sigh and drank in one gulp. He's coming into inner peace. 

His conscience will bother him in his sleep only when his enemies are alive and scheming. 

If innocents were used as a shield every time to protect the tyrant, then more innocents, other ones, will suffer.

Josh decided that there will be nothing to hold him back.

Josh smiled and raised his eyebrows. 'Haven't heard from you for so long that I thought you've been crushed..' He opened the gamble to see what he'd gotten.
