Chapter 102 - A Surprise For The Bodyguards

Sunday, continued ...

After leaving Flagstaff Hill, Rosemary hurried everyone towards the cars getting into the driver's seat of one along with Hou Yi, Anna and a bodyguard and the other four bodyguards in the other. She headed west out of Warrnambool to Tower Hill, and as they were driving through the crater, she spotted a Koala climbing a tree. She carefully pulled the car up, and other car stopped behind her.

As everyone moved close, the bodyguards could not believe that they were able to get this close to something so iconic to Australia. Anna observed that they all wanted to get close to the Koala so she stopped and warned them that they were wild animals and if they got too close they could get seriously hurt.

Having grabbed her camera Anna played photographer snapping photos of all the bodyguards close to the Koala but not touching it. As they turned around to return to the cars, they saw some Emus and a couple of Kangaroos, which further surprised the bodyguards. They were having great fun, forgetting that they were working and had been dragged a third of the way around the world.

Hou Yi knew that he felt relaxed it felt so serene and calm, despite hearing many vehicles nearby. He kept glancing at Anna and realised that despite the hurt he observed in her eyes from her mother's words, she was having some fun. The fun of being photographer was really a distraction for her. Like the bodyguards, being here was fun given how close he was able to get to iconic Australian wildlife.

As they drove through Tower Hill, they stopped on five occasions to wander around. Once they left Tower Hill, Rosemary drove back to the airport, with the bodyguard's following behind in the second vehicle. Despite the crowd looking at the plane, as the guards Hou Yi left with the plane identified him to the police, they were able to get in.

Hou Yi looked at his watch and noticed that they had twenty minutes before the pilot would ensure that everything was ready to fly. He turned to Rosemary and said, "Assuming my pilot does not want to leave immediately, or is requested to leave immediately, would you like to come aboard and have a look."

"You are kidding?"

"Absolutely not," responded Hou Yi.

As they walked towards the foot of the plane's stairs, they were greeted by the pilot, and Hou Yi asked "Are we required to leave immediately?"

The response from the pilot was "While the police would prefer us to leave as soon as possible, the airport authorities know our slot at Tullamarine and there are not demanding that we leave early. Madam Hou, so there is time to show your sister-in-law around, and I will not leave until she is safely away from the plane."

Directly talking to Hou Yi, the pilot said "Sir, I took some time and inspected the runway and spoke to the airport authorities. While we can just land, it is too tight for my liking for future landings. They indicated we could talk to the aviation authorities about extending the runway and facilities here if you and Madam will be here on a regular basis but indicated that we would have to pay the money for that."

Hou Yi nodded, realising that this was something that he needed to consider with other decisions that they might make in the next few weeks about property and the like. However rather than continuing to discuss the matter, they climbed the stairs and entered the plane. Rosemary's eyes were wide open throughout the tour. At the end she said, "Just the two of you and the bodyguards flew on this?"

"Yes. Senior Management and I need to get to locations as quickly as possible therefore Commercial Flights are not always convenient. Additionally, this allows us to use the travel time to get other work done. Most importantly for me, on this plane unlike a commercial flight our security can be guaranteed."

Rosemary, called Ben, and arranged for him to collect her. She said her final goodbyes to Anna and left the plane with a promise that Anna would call her when she was back in Melbourne. The pilot and cabin crew made all the arrangements and carefully checked everything was ready for departure and took off returning to Melbourne. Within ninety minutes, they were back at the hotel, and Anna was sending text messages to confirm her return to Melbourne, as she did not feel like talking.
