Never Judge

Chapter 433 - 433

LONG CHAPTER AHEAD!!!!

When Alexi arrived at the coffee shop he had agreed to meet Selina, he parked at the first spot he found, he was late, ten minutes late. He had sent her a message that he would be late, but she hadn't replied. Alexi was worried that Selina would have left after waiting a few minutes, she seemed like a person who didn't wait for anyone.

Alexi entered the coffee shop and scanned the tables, he was relieved to find Selina sitting at a corner, typing away on her laptop. She probably decided to work while waiting for him and got carried away.

He quickly marched on over and sat on the seat in front of her.

"You know, it's not good for your health to work so much." Alexi said with a grin, inwardly he was cursing at himself, he was supposed to be apologetic, not flirty. Old ways die hard.

"Alexi." Selina said with a cold look as she closed her laptop and placed it away.

"You weren't this cold earlier." Alexi commented as he crossed his arms across his chest.

"I wasn't ditched earlier, then of course, how could you not ditch me when your fiance called you up for a quickie and a dinner." Selina said, rolling her eyes. "It isn't easy to make time to talk."

"It wasn't Jen that called me." Alexi said in a sad tone as he remembered why he had invited Selina out. He was enjoying their banter.

"You don't need to lie. I'm not your girlfriend or anything." Selina said with a shrug. "Well I'm here, what did you want to talk about?" Selina asked as he looked him directly in the eyes.

"I'm not, and I'm here because the person who called opened my eyes to some things that I've been way too stubborn and stupid to see." Alexi said angrily as he felt his temper rising. For some reason he didn't like it when Selina doubted him, maybe it was because once upon a time he had feelings for her, and he might still have.

Selina gave him a confused look, he realized that to her it seemed like he was babbling nonsense.

"Explain." Selina finally said.

"First of all, Selina. I need to apologize to you." Alexi said in the most sincere tone possible, he reached out and tried to place his hand on Selina's but she quickly pulled her hand away.

"What for? We don't know each other, you don't owe me an apology." Selina said. For some reason her words hurt Alexi a little bit.

"Selina, I was unfair." Alexi said with a frown. "Our families go way back, we should be friends instead I listened to someone's lies."

"Shouldn't you be defending said someone?" Selina said as she was surprised to hear what Alexi said. "She's your fiancé, you should believe her."

"The person that called me away was the CEO of the Reyes Group, he found proof that Jen has been using me all this time." Alexi said in a harsh and cold tone, he didn't want Selina misunderstanding anymore. "I want to end things with her, but we need to find out why she is doing this."

"That's impossible." Selina said with a look of disbelief on her face. Her reaction shocked Alexi. "Jen is a nice person, she would never do that to you. She's just hurt because of what I did to her."

"Selina, how can you still defend her?" Alexi asked, it seemed like the roles were suddenly reversed. Alexi was puzzled as to why Selina would defend someone that constantly dragged her name through the mud. If it weren't for Cedric, Alexi would have found a way to ruin Selina's business.

"Because it's my fault she is like this!" Selina said in a raised tone making everyone turn their attention to them.

"Maybe, we should take a walk." Alexi suggested. He didn't want to draw any unnecessary attention to them. Both he and Selina were notable figures and could easily be recognized.

Alexi led Selina to a nearby park by the river, very few people went to this area giving them some semblance of privacy. They walked around for a few minutes before Alexi finally spoke.

"Why do you think it's your fault?" Alexi asked as they walked slowly in the dimly lit park. Alexi wasn't afraid of going to places like these, he always had bodyguards around to make sure they were safe.

"Jen used to be a sweet and innocent girl." Selina said with a sigh as they walked side by side. "One day, the day I met you and Katerina, she suddenly confessed her feelings for me and I rejected it. It's a long story."

"I have time." Alexi said with a shrug. For some reason he was itching to hear Selina's side.

"Alright. So years ago. . ." Selina began.

Nine years ago

"Selina, I love you." A beautiful young girl with long wavy hair and porcelain skin said as she looked up to her companion. They were walking out of school along the busy streets.

"Haha. I love you too Jen, duh, you're my best friend." Selina said as she nudged her friend with an elbow. Jen and Selina were always like this, affectionate to one another.

Suddenly Jen stopped walking, Selina had taken a few steps a head by the time she had noticed her friend was no longer next to her.

"What's wrong Jennifer?" Selina said as she looked back. "You're acting odd." Selina asked, placing her hands on her hips. Selina and Jen had been friends since they were eight years old, this year they would be graduating highschool and possibly heading off in different directions to pursue their careers. Jen wanted to become a doctor, while Selina wanted to act, she had already applied for several prestigious universities in America and across Europe.

"I don't mean it that way." Jen said in a small voice, her voice drowned out by all the noise on the street

"Jen speak up. I can't hear you." Selina complained as she walked back to her friend.

"I love you, like how your brother loves his girlfriend." Jen finally said in a loud voice. Her confession made Selina stop in her tracks.

The people around them were now all watching, many were gushing at the sweet confession, but Selina stood still. Her face expressionless, she didn't say a word as she processed what Jen had just said. The bystanders were watching, waiting for what Selina was going to say back.

"Jen, no." Selina finally said breaking the sweet atmosphere Jen had made.

The people around them began to whisper, the beautiful girl just confessed her feelings and her sexual orientation in such a sweet manner, but her friend was turning her down in the coldest way.

"Selina, Selina, you don't need to accept my love now. Give it time, please." Jen begged as she walked forward and touched Selina's cheek.

Selina gently took Jen's hand and removed it from her cheek, letting it drop to Jen's side. It was clear from Selina's facial expression that she wasn't comfortable with what Jen had just done.

"Oy, give her a chance." A bystander shouted.

"Yeah, she confessed to you. Don't turn her down." Another one said.

"This girl, she's just too much." An older lady shouted. "It's the modern times kid, you can love each other, give her a chance."

"Don't discriminate kid." Another person who was listening in commented.

Their comments made Selina feel uncomfortable, what was wrong with her rejecting someone she didn't see that way? Why were people forcing her to love someone she didn't love in a romantic way. Wasn't she free to love?

"Let's talk about this in private." Selina said, grabbing Jen by the wrist, pulling her away.

Jen and Selina dressed like opposites, Jen liked to keep her long hair down, she wore skirts and make up, she also liked to flaunt her assets as she called them, while Selina always kept her hair tied in a ponytail, she always preferred pants and rubber shoes, and although she wore make up she wasn't obsessed with it the way Jen was.

At first sight you wouldn't think that Jen liked girls, as a matter of fact you might be deceived to think that it was Selina that liked girls. You also wouldn't notice that among the two it was Selina that liked acting and fashion, while Jen preferred to stay in, read a book and study.

Selina finally found an empty alley. She looked around to see if anyone was nearby, when she noticed that the coast was clear she pulled Jen into the alley to speak.

"Jen, I don't like girls." Selina told her friend. She had never liked girls, as a matter of fact she was sure that she liked guys.

"Selina, give me a chance, please." Jen begged as she held Selina's hand in hers.

"Jen…" Selina said as she hesitated hunting her friend, they had known each other for so long, she didn't want something like this to ruin their friendship.

All of a sudden Jen pressed her against the wall and kissed her. Selina's first reaction was to push Jen away and run.

She only saw Jen as a friend, nothing more.

"Selina! Selina!" She heard a familiar male voice all her from behind. She stopped and turned, it was her twin brother, Helios.

"Sister, what's wrong?" Helios asked as he approached.

"Brother!" Selina said as she ran up and hugged him.

"Why are you crying Sel?" Helios asked his sister as he held her head. "Where's Jen?" Helios knew that his sister and Jen were always together, if he and Selina didn't look so much alike people would have thought that she and Jen were the actual twins.

"Selina!" Jen called out, panting as she chased after Selina.

"Jen, what's going on?" Helios asked his sister's friend.

Selina lifted her head and looked at her friend.

"Jen, I don't want to lose you. You're my best friend." Selina said as she wiped the tears from her eyes. "But I don't feel that way about you." She told Jen sternly.

"Then don't push me away." Jen begged in a desperate tone. "Don't make me go. Let me stay by your side, don't ruin our friendship. Give it time, maybe, someday you'll feel the same way about me too." Jen said as she dared to walk closer to the twins.

Selina looked up to her brother, asking for advice, but her brother just shrugged telling her that it was her decision to make.

"As of right now, I don't feel that way Jen. I like boys. I'll forget about what happened earlier." Selina told Jen.

"Thank you." Jen said with a smile.

"We'll take you home." Helios offered as he took out his keys and led the two girls to the car.

Present Day

Selina ended her story and looked up at Alexi. Alexi frowned as he listened to the what Selina had to say.

"That wasn't what she told me." Alexi said with a sigh.

"I guess, I was too kind, I led her on." Selina was shaking as she spoke. "I lost my best friend because I wasn't clear enough."

"It's not your fault." Alexi said as he placed a hand on hers. "Let me tell you what lies she's been saying."

Selina looked up and saw the anger in Alexi's eyes.
