Never Judge

Chapter 374 - 374

Daisy didn't say anything for a while as she stopped in the middle of the lobby. They were lucky that it was the middle of the day so there weren't that many employees coming in or out of the building, or else Daisy would have caused a jam in the lobby.

"I can't say." Daisy finally said with a frown on her face. "We all don't know his name, we just call him Mr. CEO. We know he is the CEO when we see him but his name was never announced and they are never on any documents, the final signatories are always members of the Carpio family." Daisy said with a sigh.

"That's odd." Cedric said as they reached the reception area where Cedric would leave the badge. The receptionist smiled at him as she noticed that Daisy herself was walking him out.

"Hey, Jan, this is Cedric, he just got hired. Be nice to him." Daisy teased. "Jan needs to be cold to visitors, many of them hit on the female receptionists so it's like a barrier she had to put up."

"Nice to meet you Cedric." Jan said as her expression turned from cold to warm.

"Nice to meet you too Jan." Cedric said as he smiled back. "I can't wait to start working here." Cedric said with a grin as he turned and walked towards the door with Daisy.

"Odd should be a norm for you by now." Daisy laughed as she said this. "You came from a company where the boss never shows his face and people don't even know his name. You'll fit right in."

"I can't wait to start." Cedric said with a grin as he waved goodbye.

Cedric walked a few blocks past the bus stop and made sure he wasn't being followed, he didn't want to risk people finding out that he had gone undercover inside Regis Inc. He could just imagine what people would say if they found out that the CEO of the Reyes Group pretended to look for a job at its competitor.

After walking for a while, Cedric eventually spotted Leon standing outside his car. He nodded to Leon who went over to the security vehicle that would be trailing his own. Cedric got in and finally breathed a sigh of relief, he enjoyed being undercover but that moment with Calathea was a close call, if he had been any slower she would have spotted him.

"I don't know how long you can keep doing this." Ayanna, who had been waiting in the car said as the door closed. "We've got so much work to do and you're out there playing spy. Did you at least get the job?" Ayanna said as she shook her head, she had been adamantly opposed to her brother's idea of going undercover just to find out what the Carpios were planning. He and Ayanna had left their assistants to pretend that they had gone out for a meeting.

"Of course I did. I also found several interesting things out though." Cedric said with a grin, he was proud that his trip was quite fruitful.

"Will you tell me?" Ayanna asked as she picked up the tablet next to her and continued to work. The whole time while she was waiting for Cedric she was going over some developments being proposed for Clarin Industries. If they passed her standards she would then hand them over to her older brother for his approval. Their mother Priscilla had slowly let go of any involvement in the company, the only thing she had to do now was go over to the provincial head office twice a month to process the turnover of the company to her children.

"Well, I think Calathea is somewhat over Eric." Cedric said with a laugh.

Ayanna eyed her brother suspiciously.

"Really? You risked your identity being exposed and our peace with the Carpios just to pick up that Calathea is probably over Eric?" Ayanna said in a frustrated tone.

Cedric laughed at his little sister, if only people knew that this was how the prim and proper Ayanna Reyes really spoke in private, many would be in shock.

"No, have some faith in my skills. I've been sneaking around for years, my spying skills are amazing." Cedric said proudly, to which Ayanna reacted by rolling her eyes at him.

"Grow up." Ayanna groaned.

"You know what else is interesting?" Cedric asked his sister.

"Hmmmm?" Ayanna said as she only afforded him half of her attention.

"She seems to be dating the new CEO of Regis group." Cedric said with a grin as he waited for his sister to react.

"Wait, what? She's dating an old man?" Ayanna said as she looked at her older brother.

"No." Cedric said with a laugh. "The CEO is some young business genius. I tried to see his face but Calathea was there and if she saw me we would be in trouble."

"Don't you have a whole dossier on this man?" Ayanna asked. She was well aware that her brother liked to be prepared, he investigated everyone and made sure he came into every meeting knowing every tiny detail about the person he was talking to.

Cedric laughed. "I got a taste of my own medicine. There is nothing about this new CEO. The employees have seen him, spoken to him, they even know where he studied, but they don't know his name. There aren't any photos of him either. He only speaks to those that he needs to speak to." Cedric said with a shrug.

"You said he is dating Calathea?" Ayanna said as she looked like she was forming a plan.

"Yeah. From what I heard they've been dating for a while now." Cedric said.

"Have Leon put a tail on Calathea." Ayanna suggested. "They are a couple, so they will probably go on a date, or Calathea will ask him to accompany her to buy things. Either way they will end up together in public." Ayanna said with a shrug.

"Have I ever told you how brilliant you are?!" Cedric said as he hugged his sister.

"Ewwww, no, don't hug me." Ayanna teased. "And yes I am amazing."

Cedric quickly took out his phone and gave Leon instructions to have Calathea tailed.

"Who knows we might end up finding some dirty secret on Calathea, Katerina will love that." Ayanna said with a laugh. She didn't show it but Ayanna could be as petty as Cedric some times. She just hid it better.
