Never Judge

Chapter 228 - 228

"Cedric, don't worry. Adrianna is unconscious, but stable. She just needs to recover." Lucy Chan announced the good news. "We didn't see anything severe so we're letting her rest and recover from the concussion."

Cedric visibly calmed down when Aunt Lucy Chan told him that Adrianna was going to be alright. He didn't know what he would do if he lost her, he loved her, she was his life.

"Can I see my son?" Cedric asked remembering that a new life was brought into the world sooner than they had expected.

"Jo is just cleaning him up. They should be out in a bit." Lucy said with a gentle smile. She had seen the little baby and she was sure that everyone would love him.

"We will keep Adrianna here while she recovers. It's safer than taking her back to the villa." Raphael Chan told Cedric.

Cedric simply nodded to acknowledge what Uncle Rephael had just said, who was he to argue with the best doctors. He was both worried and excited. Worried about his wife who was still unconscious, and excited to meet his son.

After a few moments, Jo came out with a crying baby. Cedric smiled as his friend handed him the little boy. The baby quickly calmed down and fell asleep when he felt his father's protective arms wrapped around him. Cedric looked down at his son and smiled. He planted a gentle kiss on the baby's forehead.

"Isn't it cool that I'm handing you your first child." Jo said with a grin. "Thank you for getting me this job with Miguel." Jo believed that without Cedric's influence Miguel would not have gotten him, even if his resume was handed to the miracle doctor, Jo was pretty sure he wouldn't be considered.

"All I did was give your name Jo." Cedric said with a smile as he held his child in his arms. "Miguel wouldn't have hired you if you weren't up to his standards. Jo being here is mostly you."

Cedric carried his son over to his sister and his parents. The little one yawned as Ayanna took a look at the little bundle in her brother's arms.

"He's beautiful." Ayanna gasped as she saw her nephew. The little boy looked like a carbon copy of Cedric, he had the same eyes, the same nose, and even the same ears. The little one was going to be extremely handsome when he grew up.

"Have you and Adrianna thought of a name?" Emilio Reyes asked his son, as he watched his little grandson sleep in his son's arms.

"We have dad." Cedric said with a proud grin as he looked down at his little boy. He immediately knew that the name they had chosen would match their son perfectly.

"What is it?" Nicole excitedly asked.

"We decided to name him Emilio Reyes IV." Cedric said proudly as he looked up at his father. Cedric always saw his dad as his hero and Adrianna loved both Emilio and Priscilla. They had accepted her whole heartedly even if she came from a lesser family. They cared for her and showed her so much concern that she forgot she was related to the rest of the Hernandezes. When Cedric suggested naming their son after his father and grandfather Adrianna was extremely happy about it.

"Hello little one, I'm your auntie Ayanna." Ayanna gently said to little Emilio. Cedric smiled and attempted to hand the baby over to Ayanna, but at every attempt little Emilio would start crying. It seemed his son refused to go with his aunt or anyone other than his father at the moment.

When a nurse announced that Adrianna had been moved to a room Cedric, his parents, and Adrianna's parents went over to check up on her.

At the hospital room, Cedric carried little Emilio to his mother's side. Adrianna was still unconscious and sleeping peacefully. He looked down at his wife with a look full of love and worry, even in her current state Adrianna looked like an angel to Cedric.

"Hey darling." He gently called out. "Look who is here to meet you. It's our little Emilio. He's so handsome, he looks like he will be a strong and brave man when he grows up. We're waiting for you to wake up, darling. We can't wait to see your radiant smile." Cedric placed the sleeping baby in a hospital crib next to Adrianna's bed and pulled a chair to sit next to his wife.

"Cedric, she's gonna be fine." Miguel said as he entered the room.

"I know she will be. You're the best doctor and I have faith in you." Cedric told his friend. "You must be tired, go and rest for a bit."

As Cedric spoke to Miguel, his eyes remained fixed on his sleeping wife as he caressed her hand and occasionally kissed it. He hoped she would wake up soon.

While Cedric and his immediate family went up to check on Adrianna, everyone else remained at the waiting area of the hospital. Veronica looked around and noticed that someone had not come out of the operating room yet.

"Where's Miguel?" Veronica asked Nicole who was sitting on a waiting chair with her eyes closed.

"Probably in his office. What he did was exhausting. That was not a normal c-section ." Nicole said as she confessed that the operation was far more complicated than what they told the Reyes family. It was so complicated and so dangerous that if anyone other than Miguel had attempted the operation they would probably have lost the baby. The procedure was purely theoretical and this made it even riskier since Lucy Chan could only guide her son through the never before attempted operation while Nicole and Raphael Chan as well as the rest of the team could only offer their support.

Veronica nodded. "I'll go check on him, I'm sure he's exhausted."

"Are you finally beginning to care for my brother? Do you love him yet?" Nicole excitedly asked.

"Relax, you'll use up all of your energy." Veronica teased. "Let's just say I won't be as cold towards him anymore, it's unfair to him." She said with a smile, she figured that if he loved her, she could be nice towards her husband and treat him as a friend at the very least.

"I'm so happy for my older brother." Nicole said with a grin.

Nicole told Veronica that Miguel's office was on the same floor as hers but at the other end. Veronica nodded and left following Nicole's instructions. Miguel's office was at the fourth floor of the hospital.

As soon as the elevator door opened she walked out into the hallway, she was mumbling to herself what she would tell Miguel when she got to his office. She figured he would probably be tired so she might as well offer to get him food or some drink or maybe even offer him a massage, that's what wives did right?

As Veronica turned the corner to Miguel's office, she spotted a figure coming out. It was a beautiful woman in a nurse's attire. The woman adjusted her already short skirt that seemed to have ridden up and walked towards the other direction.
