My Mage System (BL)

624 I feel like we have been trapped

Since Axel and Kevin had told them about the Elite Warrior Vampire under Lilith’s command, they had decided to put this mission at the top of their priorities and so this trip could no longer be delayed.

The fact that Sora and Lena had been brought here by their uncle, supposedly to keep them safe, was not a good sign either… But as this group was already strong enough as it was, Elias and Miguel had chosen to leave them to manage this mission alone, as they needed all their Warrior Spirits to go and recruit powerful allies and also to train them afterwards.

Mykael and Colin’s mission was also at the top of their priorities, but since they wanted Ashton and Alan to take part of this trip so that they could take advantage of being in a world full of elementals to absorb as many particles as possible, they could only leave once Erik’s condition stabilized.

Esme had assured them that the fact that Erik was pregnant wouldn’t prevent him from using his Stage 2, in fact he had fought extremely well during the last battle, and that the only risk of him miscarrying was if his energy reserve fell below a critical threshold.

But thanks to their Dual Cultivation bond, Esme had told them that there was very little chance of this happening, as their bond also seemed to want to protect their baby.

Miguel and Elias felt a little helpless because this time there was no precedent and they didn’t know how best to help them. They had never had the opportunity to develop their bond to this Stage, so they were unaware of the extent of the power it could represent.

They had already warned Mykael and Colin to watch out for them when they were in that world, and so after Miguel had opened a transdimensional portal to Sora and Lena’s world, they reminded them to be especially wary of the white light that the Angels were able to use, because they weren’t all pacifists like Lena.

And as Axel disappeared with Willow in his arms through the portal, followed by Sora, Solomon, Lena and Altas, just before Kevin went through it as well, Elias called him suddenly and when Kevin turned to him taken aback and he saw genuine concern in his eyes, he said to Elias, before going through the portal to join the others: “Don’t worry… Dad… everything will be fine!”

“Kev…”, was all Elias could say as Kevin stepped through the portal, and as he had raised his hand as if to prevent him from leaving, Miguel made the transdimensional portal disappear and said to him, grabbing the hand he’d just lowered, “Don’t worry for Kevin, their group is as powerful as any group of Warrior Spirits we could have sent, they’ll be fine.”

Elias then nodded, he knew that already, otherwise he wouldn’t have let them leave like that… But Kevin was Kevin and he was still the only child he had ever considered as his son so he couldn’t help but worry for him.

Elias then caressed with his thumb the palm of Miguel’s hand and he said to him as a smile finally appeared on his face: “He called me Dad… Kevin called me Dad for the first time…”

…….

When Axel, with Willow in his arms, landed on the other side of the portal, all his senses were at their peak and he didn’t relax until he felt no presence near them.

As they all arrived one by one, they took the time to observe the immense cave in which they found themselves and where the generator that had enabled them to protect their world from the nuisance of the Gods must have been standing.

As Miguel and Elias had suspected, the shield the inhabitants of this world had put in place was no longer working, and this place was empty with only the rest of some complex patterns drawn on the ground and walls of this cave.

But when the transdimensional portal closed behind Kevin, Axel frowned as all his senses of Werewolves were in alert and he said to them: “That’s strange, I feel like we have been trapped all of a sudden…”

Kevin in turn frowned because Axel would never have said that lightly, so he asked him: “Can you expand your senses to the maximum and try to understand why you feel that way… There must be a reason why you feel we have been trapped.”

Axel’s eyes and the runic symbols on his arms and neck then turned Golden and he said to Kevin: “Try to contact Elias… There’s like a force field all around this world.”

Sora then said to them after Kevin confirmed that he couldn’t get in touch with Elias: “It’s really strange, according to Miguel and Elias’s description this cave is where the generator that held their shield in place was, but it’s empty. And the high concentration of spiritual energy that’s still here is proof that this place was used to contain a phenomenal power.”

Lena then said: “Maybe they never stopped the shield but simply moved its generator somewhere else… That would be possible, wouldn’t it?”

Axel then said to him: “I don’t know, maybe Miguel’s too powerful and managed to open a passage despite the force field.

After all he had already come to this world so he probably just had to focus on it to open a portal for us… But what’s certain is that we’re stuck here and that we can’t call for reinforcements either.

But the good news is that if Miguel was able to succed in letting us in, you will probably just have to use your Stage 3 to open a transdimensional portal that will take us home.”
