My Mage System (BL)

606 Suddenly I'm not so sure I want to do this...

Kelan didn’t have much time to loot dungeons so even though he had already gotten plenty of experience points this morning, he wouldn’t let this chance pass to level up.

Contrary to Julian, Kelan loved to fight and it was just that his extraordinary brain was much more useful than his muscles, so he always ended up doing works that required more of his analytic skills that his fighting skills.

Caleb could see that Kelan was enjoying himself and so he let the summoners summon 3 to 4 waves of creatures each time before killing them himself.

He couldn’t really let them summon more waves of creatures because Yelena, Zak and Chris were still lacking Stamina to endure more that a few a waves in a row.

Julian as for him didn’t use his talismans this time and he created two ice swords instead.

Since Chris had asked him if he really knew how to fight, he didn’t know why but he felt the urge to show off his skills a bit more, which was really not like him.

But fighting in purple dungeons was quite fun and it was true that he could test new spells here.

Julian had a yellow aura surrounding his body and his ice swords and he was moving so fast that Chris had a hard time following his moves.

Julian was right, Chris thought, he was not only good at using spells and Talismans to fight, he was a also an awesome fighter, the bodies of the summoning creatures he had slayed with his ice swords were reconizable as ice was lingering in the bodies of these creatures and they were everywhere.

And it was not only Chris who was amazed by Julian, Caleb too was completely dumbfounded, and so he asked Iris and Helena to tell him what had happened until then and what other hidden skills Julian had.

Iris and Helena exchanged a glance before telling him what had happened in the previous dungeon and how Julian had killed 50 orcs without even moving, just by using talismans, and Caleb frowned before telling them: “OK, I already knew that Julian wasn’t an ordinary Mage because Garry had told me about him.

So I already knew that he was able to understand and use spiritual energy like no-one else… At least in their world, but what about his fighting skills… Although he’s only used basic fighting techniques, his moves are executed to perfection, and the fact that he combines them with wind energy greatly increases his speed and the power of his blows.”

Iris then asked him: “What else do you know about Julian? Where could he have learned to fight like that?”

Caleb then watched Kelan fight and as his husband was really enjoying himself he then said to Iris and Helena, not wanting to disturb Kelan for once: “Let’s ask my dear father-in-law, if Dilan doesn’t have the answer to our questions, he’ll quickly find out what we want to know.”

Iris and Helena nodded and Caleb immediately contacted Dilan using his communication stone to ask for the information they needed.

And Dilan told them that Julian, like Alan, came from a family of fighters and that it was probably with them that he had learned to fight.

His sister and brothers were all part of the army and had fought on the border with his best men, this family was exemplary and all were charming and benevolent, even though they all turned out to be ruthless on the battlefield.

Dilan even told them that after the battle of the Royal Palace, Colin, who had been impressed by Julian’s mastery of particles and spiritual energy in general, had given him a huge number of Talismans of all kinds so that Julian could practise other spells and that he had also given him these bracelets so that Julian could fight more easily using his Talismans.

Helena then said: “That explains a lot, that’s why Julian was so confident about his fighting skills… What a pity that this man doesn’t like fighting… But his role as a teacher really suits him, Garry was right to choose him, he saw Julian’s potential and his desire to share his different view of the spiritual energy.”

Iris clenched her fists and then said: “Suddenly I’m not so sure I want to do this… And if something were to happen to Yelena or Zak… It would be a disaster!”

Caleb put a hand on her shoulder and told her: “You’re worrying for nothing, do you really think Esme didn’t take precautions before sending Zak to us?

She must have put all sorts of powerful protective barriers on him without him knowing about them, so nothing will happen to him… As for Yelena, Miguel will intervene if there’s any danger, you know that, so relax.”

Iris then took a deep breath and said: “OK, let’s do it then!”

She then conjured up a spear which was her favorite weapon and the blade at the end of her spear was golden, made of Acrium, and it was as large as her forearm as well as being serrated to cause as much damage as possible.

Caleb had forged it for her during the war against the Gods, when they were retrieving the resources that the Gods were hoarding wherever they went.

And after that she dashed across the room to finally kill the last summoners before those that would be in the dungeon boss’s room.

She then came back next to Caleb and Helena and, since Iris still had her golden eyes, he said to her again: “Relax, or you’ll worry Yelena and she’ll get hurt because she’ll lose her concentration.”

Iris tightened her grip on her spear but her eyes returned to their natural color as she knew that Caleb was right, she absolutely had to keep her calm or she wouldn’t be able to help Yelena when the time came.
