My Mage System (BL)

504 Stubborn kid

However, Ashton was certain that there were the same amount of fire particles as there had been of wind particles in the yellow crystal, and so that could only mean that it would be more difficult for him to create an affinity with this element.

This time he wasted no time in trying to attract as many particles as possible and he focused his attention on the ones closest to him.

At first he could only absorb them one at a time, but at least he could absorb them.

He was so relieved, because it meant that he could also create an affinity with this element, that he put a lot of effort into trying to get the necessary 200 fire particles as soon as possible.

Suddenly, he felt a powerful hand on his shoulder and it surprised him so much that he lost his concentration and came out of his meditative state.

And Ashton, once he came out of his meditative state, immediately felt very bad.

He felt dizzy and nauseous, black spots obscured his vision and his ears were ringing so loudly that it was as if someone was going to pierce his eardrums.

He instinctively put himself in a fetal position to fight off this discomfort and he could feel that Colin was forcing him to drink one of his remedies for mental fatigue.

Fortunately, Colin acted fast and his remedy was very effective, so the dizziness and other discomforts he was feeling instantly diminished in intensity.

When his vision returned to normal, only a few minutes later, he immediately saw that Colin did not look very happy and he had a bad feeling, like this time he was going to scold him.

When Colin was sure that Ashton had regained enough strength and was conscious enough to hear him, he said to him: “Ashton, why did you try to rush, do you really think that creating an affinity with an element is an easy thing to do?”

When Ashton tried to get up, Colin put a little bit of pressure on his rib cage which pinned Ashton to the ground and again he told him, to try to convince this stubborn kid: “Don’t move, just rest for a few more minutes, this is not a race, okay?”

When Colin saw that Ashton was about to protest, he reminded him of the dangers he was facing: “Ashton, if I hadn’t given you your own remedy for mental fatigue, do you realize what would have happened.

You were already on the verge of losing consciousness and since your nose and ears had already started to bleed, you could have remained in a coma for at least a week.

So tell me kid, isn’t it better to waste a few minutes resting and letting your remedy fully work than to risk falling unconscious and staying in a coma for several days?”

Ashton knew that Colin was right, but he said to him while massaging his temples: “If I don’t absorb the 200 fire particles today, I’ll have to start from scratch tomorrow because until I create an affinity with this element, I can’t store them for more than a few hours, you know that…”

Colin smirked and he told him: “The most important thing is that you can absorb fire particles, if you can’t create an affinity with this element today, it doesn’t matter, because you could still to do it tomorrow or another day.

The goal of today was not for you to get an affinity with all the elements, but it was to be able to determine if you have the potential to become a Priest or not…

So Ashton, why don’t you skip the fire particles for today and check if you can see the lightning particles instead.

I can guarantee you that it’s no coincidence that only 5% of mages have an affinity with this element.

I myself never managed to see them until Kevin got this potion as a reward after looting a purple dungeon.

Without this unique potion, I would never have been able to become a Priest, so let’s see if you really are one of those exceptional beings.”

Ashton then looked at the large crystal that contain the fire particles and then he asked Colin: “How much time do I have left?”

Colin knew exactly what Ashton was thinking and so he told him: “Enough time to finish creating an affinity with the fire element and try to see the lightning particles.

But I would like you to check first if you can see the lightning particles, so tomorrow I could plan our training here according to our needs.”

Ashton smiled at him and he finally said: “Okay, then I’m willing to rest for a few more minutes.”

Colin shook his head helplessly and when he saw that Ashton was finally quiet and was resting, he focused his attention on the part of the dimension where Kevin was.

The Stage 2 of the Warrior Spirits was really quite effective and Kevin had already absorbed more than half of the darkness particles in the crystals he had placed around him.

At this rate he was going to have to add a few more purple crystals before their training session was over.

Miguel was going to be very pleased with these results, they were much better than what they had imagined.

When Ashton felt better, Colin right away summoned a large crystal filled with lightning particles in front of him.

Colin was watching Ashton with anticipation and he suddenly saw a lightning particle moving towards Ashton and then it disappeared.

Colin could not believe his eyes, he immediately contact Miguel to tell him the good news, and Miguel a few seconds later appeared next to him just in time to see Ashton absorb another lightning particle.

Colin then told him: “He already made the affinity with the wind element, and he collapsed just after having absorbed half of the fire particles needed to get an affinity with this element… What should we do now?

I have already given him his remedy against mental fatigue, so we have two options.”
