My Mage System (BL)

458 The Lans' stubbornness

He just had to be patient and wait for the man of his life, the one he had fallen in love with as soon as he had seen him for the first time, when he had finally been old enough to be part of the organization.

As soon as he turned 18, his father took him to the organization’s council and it was Caleb who made the tattoo on the inside of his right wrist and showed him how to put the black bandage over it.

Caleb at that time was wearing a mask that made him change his appearance and hid his true level from everyone, but when he had touched him to make the tattoo, even with that ordinary face and ordinary aura, his body had reacted strongly to his touch.

His heart had started to race for the first time and he had even felt butterflies in his stomach.

He still remembered that at that time, he had had a hard time believe it himself because Caleb really didn’t look attractive with that disguise on him.

But when the other members of the council had left and only they, his father and Liam were left, Caleb had finally taken off his mask and he had laughed when he had seen his shocked expression before telling him never to trust appearances and that he had to trust his instinct.

At that moment he had remained speechless because Caleb had completely transformed and he had become the most handsome man he had ever seen.

Then, he had told him that his identity had to remain secret and that it was only because he was part of the Lan family that he had the privilege to see his true face.

He still remembered that he had not said much that evening, and that he couldn’t help but keep staring at him, he was completely bewitched.

He also remembered that it was this very night that he had sworn to himself to conquer this man whatever it would cost him.

After all he was only applying the advice that Caleb had given him that day, not to trust appearances and to trust his instinct, and as his body had reacted so strongly to his contact even before he revealed his godlike body to him, he was only following his instinct which told him that this man was the only one who could ever make him react like that.

After he turned 18, he had begun his studies at the capital’s academy, and whenever the opportunity arose he volunteered to carry out the organization’s missions in hopes of meeting Caleb.

But he soon realized that it wasn’t just with his fighting skills that he could get his attention.

He was only a beginner at that time and although his skills were better than the average fighter thanks to his father’s teachings, it was still far from enough compared to the men who usually accompanied him on missions.

So he had discreetly asked the other members of the organization and even his father had told him, when he found out that he was very interested in ‘Caleb’s work’, that if he wanted Caleb to hire him, he would have to work on his stealth skill, never letting his emotions show, and he had even given him tips on how to train his visual, auditory and olfactory memory.

His father had also told him that his greatest strength, if after the academy he decided to join Caleb, would be his analytical mind and his speed in gathering information from different documents, and he wasn’t wrong.

Caleb had started to get close to him when his father had to banish Alan. He was already 22 at that time and they had started to see each other outside of the missions where they regularly crossed paths.

Caleb felt sorry for him and he just wanted to help him to change his mind. Of course, he had taken the opportunity to get closer to him, and Caleb because of his insistence had started to train him personally.

He was very demanding and there was nothing romantic about their training session, but he didn’t care as long as he could spend more time with him.

For two years, nothing more had happened between them, except that they had become much closer to each other, and their relationship began to change when, after one of the training sessions from Caleb, he had collapsed and caught a high fever.

It was a weekend and Caleb had taken him home but his father was at the border and Nolan had stayed at the academy to train, so he had stayed with him to take care of him.

That night when the fever had made him delirious he had believed that he was in one of his dreams and unable to think properly he had started to kiss him.

And even though Caleb had pushed him away several times, the Lans’ stubbornness when they wanted something had finally overcome his reluctance.

And Kelan despite the fact that he was in the grip of a high fever and that he was not really in his normal state, still remembered that night perfectly well.

It was their first time making love and the next morning when Caleb had tried to back down and told him that what had happened between them couldn’t happen again, he had offered him a bet, and this bet had been the first one of a very long list.

He was still not at his best after that feverish night, in every sense of the word, but he knew deep down that he couldn’t let Caleb go like that, otherwise it would have been extremely complicated to break again this distance that he had seemed to want to put between them.

He still remembered that Caleb had looked at him with a complicated expression not knowing what to say, so he had taken the lead once more and told him that if he could beat him at chess, he would have to promise to spend another weekend with him and continue to train him normally.
