My Mage System (BL)

425 The battle of the Royal Palace part 25

Lena could still feel the pain that her sister felt and the despair that had invaded her so she asked him while hugging him back : “What happened ? Why did she faint ?”

Liam moved away from her and he pointed to Kevin and said to her : “This is Kevin, the new bearer of the pentagram mark, Sora fainted just after seeing him, do you know why ?”

At this point, for Liam the only plausible explanation was that Kevin must have looked like a member of their family, and when he saw Lena turn pale as well and put her hands to cover her mouth, he swore and hurriedly asked her : “Lena please, explain to us ?”

But silent tears started rolling down her cheeks and she was completely unable to speak.

When she looked at her sister, her heart broke even more and she finally understood why Sora, who was the strongest person she knew, finally broke down.

During these 17 years, they had often wondered if her son was more like her or Xander.

They had tried to imagine what he could do during the day, what his favorite games were, what his favorite food was, if he ever thought about her or if he was angry at her for abandoning him.

The first thing her sister had always wanted to do when she would be free again was to go looking for him, she wanted to make up for the time she lost with him and she wanted to hear him call her mommy.

The tears were still rolling down Lena’s cheeks without ever stopping and Kevin was really feeling worse and worse.

Axel immediately tightened his arm around his shoulders because he could feel the helplessness that Kevin felt and suddenly Lena started to walk towards him, with a hesitant step.

She gently caressed his cheek and Kevin let her even though he didn’t like being touched by strangers and then she said to him : “You really do look like our dear uncle.”

Lena smiled sadly as she let her hand fall back and she said to him with her eyes still full of tears : “It should have been a moment of immense joy, but unfortunately with Sora we already know that this body is only a shell, and that the original soul of this body was replaced by the soul of a great warrior from another world.”

Kevin then said the only thing that came to his mind, his throat tight with emotion : “I’m sorry, I’m really sorry for your lose.”

Kevin could hardly imagine the pain Sora must have felt when she realized that her son was already dead, now that they had Willow with Axel, he knew that if he lost her, his world would fall apart.

Lena brought him back to reality as she shook her head and told him : “It’s not your fault Kevin, you are also a victim.”

She looked at her sister again and she couldn’t help but asked Kevin hesitantly : “Do you know if my nephew suffer ?”

Kevin shook his head immediately and told her : “When my soul transmigrated into his body, I absorbed his memories, I promise you he didn’t suffer, he died instantly, he didn’t even have time to realize what had happened to him.”

Lena smiled at him through her tears and she couldn’t help but touch his face again, she also tidied up his hair while telling him : “Thank you Kevin, you seem to be an exceptional person, it’s time for you to become our new King.”

Caleb who, like the others, hadn’t expected Sora and Lena to recognize Kevin didn’t know what to do, so he asked Lena : “Can you help Sora to recover ?”

Lena shook her head, feeling helpless, and she told him : “My sister has chosen to escape this reality herself, it’s like her mind has been locked in a fortress, even our telepathic link is cut off, I can’t reach her.”

Caleb who had wondered how Lena could be aware of everything understood then, and he asked her to confirm his suspicions : “So that’s why you know everything, it’s because you and Sora shared a telepathic link ?”

Lena just nodded and she walked over to her sister.

She put a hand on her forehead and tried again to make contact with Sora but she failed, so she explained to Caleb : “This link between us has always existed but I was always the only one who could use it.

However, before my sister’s spirit was locked in this fortress, I heard her call out to me for help for the first time in my life.”

Lena didn’t know what to do to help her sister but she told them so that everyone would understand the situation : “Sora will have to accept this reality to be able to come out of this coma, and as I can’t reach her, I can’t help her through this ordeal.”

Lena then said aloud caressing Sora’s cheek : “Just how much pain you must be feeling right now in order to block our telepathic link, even the barrier that this Goddess had set up wasn’t able to block it.”

Despite himself, and perhaps because of his ever-increasing powers, Axel had felt the pain that Lena spoke of just before Sora passed out.

He could not take his eyes off the mother who had just realized that the son she had been forced to abandon for his safety had finally died.

He could also feel the pain and guilt that was eating away at Kevin at the moment and he decided to try something to ease the mother’s pain and his husband’s uneasiness.

He suddenly disappeared, surprising everyone, and when he reappeared only seconds later, he was holding Willow in his arms.

Willow was awakened by her father’s voice echoing in her mind and he asked her in a tender voice, ‘Baby girl, I’m sorry to wake you up but I need your help to try to heal someone, and to relieve your other daddy of a burden he doesn’t have to bear, I really hope you can help them both.’
