Mr Fu, I Really Love You

Chapter 1272 - Making Hong Jinyun Feel Incredibly Awkward

Chapter 1272: Making Hong Jinyun Feel Incredibly Awkward

In Lu Jinnan’s heart, Cai Jingyao was indeed not a good person. It wasn’t that he only started feeling this way since he got together with Bai Xiaonian. But early on, when he heard Lu Jinbei cry as he recounted the reason he broke up with Bai Xiaonian, Lu Jinnan had sensed that this so-called best friend of Bai Xiaonian was a green tea b*tch.

Perhaps before getting together with Bai Xiaonian, Lu Jinnan had felt that all women were bad and that he had excellent judgment in determining if someone was a b*tch. He had even hurt Lin Nuan by accident back then because of this.

“It’s not that I’m being nosy, but Lu Jinbei is your brother. I fear you’ll reproach yourself if something happens to him in the future!” Bai Xiaonian looked at Lu Jinnan. “Dad has told me that, in order to be together with me, you nearly fell out with Lu Jinbei, the younger brother you doted on for years. If something happens to him in the future, based on your personality, you’ll probably pin the blame on yourself! Hence, I’m telling you in advance so that you can tell Lu Jinbei in advance. I don’t want to see you blaming yourself if something happens later on. As his brother and sister-in-law, we just need to do our part!”

By Dad, Bai Xiaonian was referring to Lu Jinnan’s father!

Back then, when Lu Jinnan got together with Bai Xiaonian, the person who reacted most strongly was Lu Jinbei…

He had always known Lu Jinbei was deeply in love with Bai Xiaonian, and despite that, he had stolen away his younger brother’s love. Because of that, Lu Jinnan had felt guilty towards Lu Jinbei regarding this matter.

Lu Jinbei was a scumbag to begin with, so Bai Xiaonian wasn’t concerned about him. But what she worried about was that if something happened whilst Lu Jinbei was with Cai Jingyao, Lu Jinnan would feel upset.

Lu Jinnan reached out and held Bai Xiaonian’s petite hand. “I know, don’t worry!”

Bai Xiaonian frowned as she asked, “Why do you think Cai Jingyao used Lu Jinbei’s phone to comment on the photo I uploaded of you?”

“You uploaded a photo of me?” Lu Jinnan couldn’t resist laughing as he asked, whatever unhappiness he had felt a moment ago vanishing instantly.

“Yeah!” Bai Xiaonian was easily influenced by Lu Jinnan’s emotions. She smiled. “I uploaded a photo of you stitching the toy for our child. Several people commented that I found a great deal, saying that my husband is both great at earning money and is even good at household chores!”

“Mm, then you must cherish it!” Lu Jinnan looked at Bai Xiaonian sideways, his smile broader now.

“Yes yes yes!” Whatever unhappiness Cai Jingyao caused had dissipated in Bai Xiaonian’s heart.

So long as Cai Jingyao didn’t take the initiative to mess with Bai Xiaonian, Bai Xiaonian couldn’t be bothered with her…

Later, Bai Xiaonian simply blocked Lu Jinbei. Out of sight, out of mind.

When Lu Jinnan was done parking and was helping Bai Xiaonian out of the car, Hong Jinyun and her mother had just stepped on the stairs of the hospital building.

Bai Xiaonian and Lu Jinnan got out of the car, Lu Jinnan supporting the limping Bai Xiaonian with one arm, the other arm holding the dinner they brought for Bai Xiaonian’s father. He turned sideways and edged closer to Bai Xiaonian’s phone screen, wanting to see what Bai Xiaonian had posted on Weibo.

Seeing the text and accompanying photo that Bai Xiaonian uploaded, Lu Jinnan couldn’t hold back the smile on his lips.

“Jinnan…”

A delicate and frail woman’s voice came ringing over. Lu Jinnan and Bai Xiaonian looked up towards the stairs.

The thin and frail Hong Jinyun was being supported by her mother, her face pale and devoid of the color of blood. Her vision landed on Lu Jinnan, then she looked towards Bai Xiaonian and nodded at her politely.

Bai Xiaonian narrowed her eyes, still wearing the trace of a smile on her lips as her pretty eyes looked towards Hong Jinyun and her mother.

Hong Jinyun’s mother kept eyeing Bai Xiaonian’s stomach. She had clearly seen so much blood that day, so why didn’t Bai Xiaonian suffer a miscarriage?

Noticing the probing gaze from Hong Jinyun’s mother, Bai Xiaonian’s lips curled as she raised a hand and gently caressed her stomach.

“Mom…” Hong Jinyun pinched her mother’s hand.

Hong Jinyun’s mother snapped out of her daze, supporting Hong Jinyun as she walked down the stairs with much difficulty…

Hong Jinyun seemed really weak, for her legs quivered with every step she took. Hong Jinyun’s mother cautiously said to her, “Be careful, walk slowly… don’t hurry! Your body is too weak! I told you not to come, yet you wouldn’t listen!”

Bai Xiaonian raised her brows slightly, sensing that the mother-and-daughter duo was putting on an act. She lowered her gaze and smiled faintly.

Lu Jinnan’s face was tense as he stood next to Bai Xiaonian, holding her, his eyes dark and emotionless.

“Jinnan, Miss Bai…” Hong Jinyun looked at Bai Xiaonian, speaking sincerely. “I brought my mother here to apologize to you and your father today! I’m very sorry my mother caused the two of you to suffer an injury! I really don’t know how I can redeem my sins!”

“Didn’t you come here because Jinnan stopped giving you money, so you’re unable to keep still?” Bai Xiaonian’s lips curled as she asked, her expression carrying a hint of perplexity.

Who didn’t know how to act?

Hong Jinyun’s mother’s expression changed instantly. “Slut, I knew it was you who sweet-talked Lu Jinnan into stopping his financial aid towards us!”

“Mom! Can you shut up!” Hong Jinyun shouted, then started to get breathless. Her hand clutched her chest, and she looked like she might collapse at any moment. “We came here to apologize, not to quarrel! Can you stop saying these overboard words!”

Hong Jinyun’s mother forced herself to swallow back what she was about to say. With her brows furrowed, she glowered at Bai Xiaonian, restraining her temper.

Before coming, Hong Jinyun had promised her mother that so long as her mother acted according to her instructions, to not overly meddle in this matter… to not do extra things, to apologize when she asked her to, Hong Jinyun guaranteed she would get Lu Jinnan to guarantee her mother’s future.

This was the reason Hong Jinyun’s mother was so submissive today.

“I didn’t come here because of the financial aid. You misunderstand me, Miss Bai…”

Before Hong Jinyun could finish her words, Bai Xiaonian interrupted her. “Miss Hong, do you have some sort of misunderstanding about my status? I’m married, so you may call me Mrs. Lu! Miss… is a form of address for unmarried ladies.”

Afraid that Bai Xiaonian would get angry, Lu Jinnan stared coldly at Hong Jinyun. He whipped out his phone and dialed his assistant’s number, putting it on speakerphone mode…

The call got through. The assistant hurriedly asked, “Mr. Lu, what can I do for you?”

Upon hearing the assistant’s voice, Hong Jinyun was flustered momentarily, afraid he would tell Lu Jinnan that she had come to look for Lu Jinnan previously. But very quickly, she regained her composure. It was fine even if he told Lu Jinnan. After all, she was only there to apologize, and showing up two or three times only went to show her sincerity.

“I asked you to stop all financial aid towards Hong Jinyun and her mother. The outcome of you completing the task… is to have them show up before me?” Lu Jinnan sounded extremely impatient.

He refused to speak with Hong Jinyun and directly called his assistant to rebuke him for his incompetence. He was completely ignoring Hong Jinyun, making Hong Jinyun feel incredibly awkward.
