Chapter 429 – Jeff Seek For Jasmine’s Help

"Seeing how you came very early I guess what you want to discuss with me is more important than I thought," Jasmine said before she pulled out a chair and sat down opposite Jeff.

"Should we discuss first or do you want us to place our offer?" Jasmine asked as she wanted to hear what will be Jeff's response.

"Let's order first. We will talk while we eat," Jeff said in a cold tone. He picked up the menu almost at the same time Jasmine did.

The two of them begin to talk after placing their orders.

"You don't look very nice from the last time we saw each other, is something wrong Pretty Boy?" Jasmine asked worriedly.

"Jasmine, I am very worried about my relationship with Erin," Jeff said without beating around the bush. His words made Jasmine readjust on the chair.

"Are you and Cat not doing ok? What happened?" Jasmine asked showing sheer concern. Jeff went ahead to tell her what happened between him and Catherine after Jasmine was gone.

"Do you mean that Cat has been ignoring you and treating you weirdly for a month now?" Jasmine asked surprised that Catherine she knew would do all that Jeff has told her.

"Yeah. She doesn't let me visit her at home nor does she comes over to my house. Each time I offer to drive her to and from work she always rejects my offer…," Jeff trailed sounding very emotional. Jasmine who has been through this could feel his pains.

"I have always wanted to ask her what was wrong but each time I try to talk to her about her behaviour towards me, I always hold back myself. I was scared that she will seize that opportunity to finally break up with me if I do that," Jeff said in a sad tone.

Cat loves Pretty Boy to no end so why would she treat him this way? Is this perhaps related to what his mum said to her on the day of the introduction to her parents?

Jasmine thought while staring at Jeff's face.

"Why on earth would Cat treat you this way? Did she tell you what was the problem or did you do something to warrant such treatments from her?" Jasmine asked curiously.

"If I knew why she treats me this way then I wouldn't have been so miserable for a month. And I have been walking on eggshells around her for a month now. Also, there is no way I would have offended her without knowing," Jeff replied in a miserable tone.

"If what you said right now is true then I guess the problem is not with you…,"

"Sister-in-law, did she ever mention anything to you? Did she tell you she is unhappy with me…,"

"How could Cat ever be unhappy with you when you are her number one source of happiness?" Jasmine asked sharply. She tried to stop Jeff's imagination from going wild with her question. Everywhere went quiet on their table after Jasmine spoke.

The only places voices and giggles could be heard were from other tables. Jasmine and Jeff were too focused on the serious topic before them to care about other customers.

"Jeff, I don't know whether I should tell you this or not…,"

"What is it? I am more than ready to listen to what you say as long as I can fix my relationship with Erin," Jeff said not waiting for Jasmine to finish her sentence.

Jasmine hesitated to tell him what she knows. The last thing she wants is to ruin her best friend's relationship.

"On the day you introduced Cat to your parents your mum talked to Cat in secret. I know she might not have told you anything about this because she doesn't want to cause a strain in the relationship between your mother…," Jasmine trailed while staring at Jeff's face.

"I also don't want to cause problems between you and your mum but I think you have a right to know the awful words she said to Cat. Even I was hurt by her words not to mention Cat…,"

"What did mum say to Cat?" Jeff asked anxiously. Jasmine went ahead and narrated what Catherine told her on that faithful day.

"I know that Cat's family in terms of wealth can't be compared to your family but that doesn't give your mum the right to say that Cat isn't good enough for you," Jasmine stated how she feels boldly.

"Wealth aside, I am certain your mother wouldn't find a daughter-in-law as good and hard-working as Cat. She is a rare gem that should be cherished so I wonder why your mum treats her this way," Jasmine said seriously.

"You mean my mum said such words to Erin?" Jeff asked in disbelief. He couldn't bring himself to believe that his mum said such mean words to his woman and yet he did not know a thing about it.

"I know you will surely confront your mum about it but I advise that you do that wisely. Don't confront her in a way that will make your mum hate Cat. I know what my relationship with Ice Prince mum is that is why I am telling you this," Jasmine gave her sincere advice. She knows what she has gone through in Jackson's mum hands because the woman hates her for no just reason. She would never want her best friend to go through the same thing.

"I know what to do so don't worry," Jeff said. Despite that, he said those words his expression shows he was gonna do something huge.

"I will try to talk to Cat on your behalf, who knows she might come around," Jasmine said as she gave him a reassuring smile.

"Thank you so much, sister-in-law," Jeff said out of gratitude.

If Jasmine was around then he wouldn't have to suffer for a month.

When he first noticed Catherine's weird attitude towards him, he had wanted to tell someone about it but he couldn't find someone suitable to talk to.
