"I don't know. Maybe it was because his family were not as rich as ours or maybe because he thought he was after me because of our family's wealth. I am not sure why he hated the idea so much but all I know was that he hated everything about him," Jasmine. replied as she tightened her fist. Each time she recalls her father's attitude back then her blood always boil in rage.
"Then what did you do? You must have obeyed his orders right?" Jackson asked anxiously.
"Of course not. I insisted on getting married to the one I love. I was an adult so I believed he no longer had the right to tell me what to do...," Jasmine paused as she tried to clean the tears that were attempting to face.

"My Grandma took me in and just so I and my future husband will not be left stranded after our wedding she bought us a house and presented it to us in advance as our wedding gift but the worst happened three days to our wedding day which was his birthday," Jasmine said as she fought back the urge to cry.
"What did the scum do?" Jackson asked.
"It was his birthday but I pretended that I was not aware of it. Even when he tried to tell me about it that evening I did not let him complete his words. I replied by telling him that I felt sick and extremely tired....,"
"And why did you do that?" Jackson asked inquisitively.
"What else if not because I wanted to surprise him. He was to be my husband in a few days and the preparation for our wedding was complete so I wanted his birthday to be special. I did not tell him about it because I wanted it to be a surprise...,"
"And I am sure the scum must have thought that you forgot his birthday? For him to have proposed to you I am sure he must have known you very well so how could he think like that? He is more stupid than I think," Jackson said angrily.
"Yeah, he was angry but he did not make it obvious. He left me in his apartment that evening and the moment he left I also went to join my newly made friend Catherine who was waiting for me in a taxi. We went to the house Grandma bought for us...," Jasmine trailed as her grip on the couch pillow tightened. "When we were in the dining room trying to wrap up our preparation, we heard the sound of a car downstairs so without wasting a minute I instantly turned off the lights in the dining using the remote....," Jasmine wiped her tears once more.

"Catherine and I hid on hearing the house door opened. Without seeing who it was I knew that it was him so I silently prayed that he did not come to the dining room. How stupid I was to make that wish since whether or not I made the wish he wouldn't have come there," Jasmine paused to catch her breath.
"The moment we stopped hearing approaching footsteps we quickly continued with what we were doing and we wrapped up everything once and for all. Thank goodness I didn't take the spare clothes and accessories I brought with me upstairs. I quickly showered downstairs and changed. It was his birthday so I wanted to look good for him. What a big fool I was," Jasmine remarked as she smiled.
"You were not a fool but you were just so madly in love with him...,"
"And until today, I am still regretting that mad love or whatsoever," Jasmine replied sharply.
"After I had dressed up in a red outfit and did all the necessary things to look perfect, Catherine and I headed upstairs. With the cake in my hands, I was so excited as I went to our room. What I did not know was that the shock of my life awaits me....," Jasmine paused only to continue almost immediately.
"When I reached our room instead of surprising him I ended up getting shocked to the marrow and guess why it was so?" Jasmine said as she brought back her gaze to him once more
"I am bad at guessing so tell me what you saw in there," Jackson said. Without her revealing everything he had a hunch about what she must have seen in their bedroom but he wanted her to be the one to say it.
"I saw him and my childhood best friend having sex on the bed I used my last penny to buy. The cake in my hands fell out of shock. I went crazy right that minute due to their betrayal. I wanted to kill the two of them but Catherine held me down making sure that I did not do anything stupid," Jasmine concluded.
"How could he do that to you after all you did for him. He is a total scumbag for treating the lady who was willing to go against the world just for him," Jackson cursed loudly.
