Magical Academy: Rise of the Supreme Magic Craftsman

Chapter 82 - Celebration And Meeting

Wallace spent his day patiently brewing the berserk potion. Fortunately, from the six batches he had, one potion was successfully made.

'That's why potion-making has its own course in other academies. It's really difficult.'

Only a few academies can cater potioneering and Leonhearts isn't one of them.

Wallace felt proud of himself upon succeeding in making the potion. After all, he doesn't have any background in making potions at all and he only watched his father once as a guide. His achievement is already quite outstanding as a beginner but even though he succeeded, it never crossed his mind to dabble too deep in the field. Memorizing the herbs, raw materials or ingredients and its corresponding purposes for potion making is quite difficult unless he spent a lot of time studying or has other means of assistance to memorize them.

Of course, he didn't forget to tell his father about his achievement which earned him some praise. Now, his father may consider contacting his connections to gather more of the main ingredients for the berserk potion. This way, whenever he has some free time, he could decide to concoct a potion to temporarily change his mood and better himself.

"I hope it wouldn't go to the point that I'll have to use this."

Wallace sighed and muttered upon contemplating his recent success in making the potion.

A few more days had passed as his family together with his uncle's own celebrated the end of the year wishing for their good health and prosperity. They all ate Zairusian food during the celebration and went to watch an impressive fireworks display arranged by their town's officials in their small plaza.

During this event, Wallace noticed a few things.

He noticed some familiar individuals and he was sure that it's the first time he met them personally. Yes, because the first time he saw these individuals weren't in reality but within his dream where the Meredith Empire's forces invaded. They were the few Combat Mages together with the town's chief that battled the Marauder Gears.

Wallace had met this old chief several times before as a resident here in the town, but for these combat magicians, it was the first. He also remembered the other Battle Mage together with the chief in the dream and notice that he's not present here.

So he decided to use his Divine Sense to try looking for him thoroughly and sure enough, after scanning the place and slowly analyze them, he found the other Battle Mage overseeing the place far away while the town's chief was in the center of the plaza celebrating together with the residents of the Red Star town.

"How come they appeared in my dream even though this should be the first time I've met them? That dream was somehow controlled by the Pathfinder? It's the side effect? Premonition? Or it just really giving me hints to prepare for the future?"

He was sure though that the dream was related to his mission so he had to succeed in his journey to the island country.

After enjoying the fireworks display in the festive plaza, they all went home.

"Wallace, you're traveling back to the city tomorrow?"

His father Chase asked. Wallace has to return there for the competition as they were instructed to arrive in Montego 5 days before the competition.

"Uhmm... no, I can still stay for a few days. Why'd you ask?"

Wallace replied, confused by his father's sudden question.

"Maybe you need more time practicing your artifact forging? After all, you were not able to practice here." Chase answered his son. He noticed his son only researching the potion, playing with his little sister, reading books, and even asking for more memory crystal even though he and his wife had given him three before.

Of course, the two did not allow Wallace to have more memory crystal consumed as having more than three could make the magician go crazy or retard and that would even be the best scenario. Sometimes the magician's brain that couldn't handle more than three memory crystals would cause their death.

Wallace appreciated his father's concern. His previous self, Wallace Heather, also had an amazing father in the space and saw Chase Ravencroft in semblance.

The captain of Zymeth, a dreadnaught-class spaceship, Brian Heather, was not only an amazing leader but also a father who cared for him the most.

"No worries, I already made preparations in my workshop. That should be enough. Anyway, our academy instructors told me that results or ranking there isn't important as long as I did my best." Wallace explained.

"That's good to hear then." Elaine joined the conversation of this father and son on the balcony of their house. It seems that Claire has already slept.

The two turned their heads and saw the lovely appearance of the lady under the moonlight. Chase smiled at her and turned to face his son.

"We have a request for you..."

Wallace just arrived in his own house in Tanza City. The place was clean and seems that no intruder dared to cause trouble while he was away. He visited his workshop and saw his mana artifacts prepared for his journey. He arranged his things and fitted them all in three travel bags.

Ring! Ring!

Wallace picked up his phone and saw that his instructor was phoning him. He pressed the answer button and answered.

"Hello, Sir Garen. I'll be there at three." He predicted that his instructor was already looking for him to make sure he won't miss their flight.

"That's good. You can still rest. I'll send someone to pick you up, send me your address." Instructor Garen replied. He won't be coming in the competition as he still has to teach his students in the academy. Instead of him, it seems some other instructor will be sent accompanying the only representative of the academy.

"Thank you. I will send it in a moment. Right, may I ask if it's already decided? I mean, who will be joining me? Will you send me there alone?"

Wallace joked. Of course, their academy wouldn't let him visit there without someone supervising or protecting him. They couldn't just allow him to be cared for by the Ministry's delegates. Aside from representing their country together with other selected participants, he'll also represent his academy.

"Oh, I'm not sure. It was arranged by the headmaster."

"Headmaster Percival? Not an instructor in the academy?" Wallace asked and felt that if it was an instructor in Leonhearts, instructor Garen should've been made aware. After all, there's only a handful of instructors capable enough to be assigned for this.

"Perhaps. You'll meet them later anyway. Just ask the headmaster if you have further questions. Good luck!"

Garen ended the call leaving Wallace in thought. He was curious about the person or people who will be joining him on his trip because they were the ones whom he'll have to abandon in search of his spaceship. He had to escape from their surveillance before he'll worry his escape with the country's guards for the event.

He only had about 5 days to escape, travel, and search for the spaceship. If he didn't return at that time, no one will represent Zairus academy and they will be disqualified unless the ministry arranged a reserve mana technician. If that were the case, it would be better for him.

After a few hours, an expensive car stopped in front of his house.

Wallace determined that it was the car that will pick him up. He carried his bags and went to the car to load them. He noticed that a young woman in her twenties was seated in the car smiling at him.

"Hello, Wallace! I've finally met you! I'm Yumi."

Wallace had no idea who the girl was but it seems that she's also a powerful magician based on the feedback that came from his Divine Sense.
