Magical Academy: Rise of the Supreme Magic Craftsman

Chapter 256 - Corruption

Yumi clearly remembers how this existence managed to easily immobilize them with a flick of its fingers.

Seeing the same Celestial Being here had a different pressure now that Wallace was not present in their group. That young man seems to be full of miracles with him so they can always move forward on their path, but now that he was left inside the tower, they have to deal with the situation and think of a solution.

"Careful... Sir Slaine already spoke with another Celestial. Although they were not aggressive, they can cause you some harm just by getting near them..."

It was Dr. Mao who warned Yumi and the others. It seems that he was together with the Grand Arcanist when the latter negotiated with the Celestial.

Yumi nodded at this. She looked at Hannah who was now prepared unlike the last time as she immediately added a layer of defense so she could bear the pressure once the existence spoke to them within their minds.

No one started to talk and only cautiously stared at the floating Celestial. Even Percival felt the pressure coming off from it. This was his first time seeing a Celestial Being which was shrouded in mystery.

No one wanted to speak first since it may offend the creature.

Anyway, the two other groups had an experience with a Celestial already so the Headmaster decided to wait for their instructions before he would act.

It took about a minute of staring down at them before the Celestial decided to land on the patch of grass in front of their group.

'This... It wouldn't attack without even talking to us, right?'

Yumi was frowning at their current situation, no one knows whether it only has plans to observe them or it was already planning who to eat later.

Sigh~

As everyone was starting to be stressed on their situation, the Celestial Being started speaking. Again, it's a telepathic form of conversation which was giving them some troubles.

"Where is the other person together with you?"

The pressure was difficult to handle but because they've been preparing for this, it didn't catch them by surprise.

Dr. Mao was sure that this Celestial wasn't referring to the Grand Arcanist since they met a different one...

Looking at the existence's eyes, they were actually staring at Yumi's small group.

Oh, it even looks like that it was also interested in Percival and the lady with him. It must've sensed something from them.

Anyway, the doctor quickly understood that this creature may actually be referring to the other person who wasn't here.

That was Wallace, the fifth apprentice of Sir Slaine...

'So they really encountered this existence before... Luckily, this one doesn't seem to be problematic...'

The one they met before had kindly described to them the characteristics of the problematic Celestials. After all, they were dangerous beings that even planned to destroy the moon after accumulating a bit of foreign power.

Instead of blue energy accumulating within their bodies, they described that the problematic ones were accumulating darker color of energy.

"He remained inside the tower..."

Yumi gambled on her answer. She wasn't even exactly confident if the creature was really referring to Wallace.

Anyway, they can only tell what they somehow know in the meantime. Since the young man was together with the Grand Arcanist, they will surely find a way to get over this.

In fact, the two seem to be in a safer place since they were remaining inside the tower unlike them who was exposed in these various creatures roaming the continent.

***

Wallace was amazed by the plans crafted by the two powerful men.

Although he also has plans made together with Veda, it was very reassuring to know that the others were also trying to find a way to handle the empire.

It would be a good thing if they spread this awareness without causing panic to the populace.

'Anyway, that's where the VR comes in... The players should be able to notice it by now.'

Wallace left many hints within the game. Not only were they giving real life stuff, true battle technique, and advanced technologies within the game, but also clues leading to the changes coming to the real world.

It was subtle and not enough to cause panic. It would ensure that the government would not immediately act against him saying that he was causing a public disturbance. He also informed Yumi about the logbook and probably reported it to her higher-ups.

Now that he showed it to the two, he felt that some of the weight he was carrying was lifted. It feels better if there would be more people helping them in this endeavor.

"I already said why I'm staying here... I need to hold back the Mana Calamity in this land..."

Aeolia suddenly said after his master offered him to return to the southern continent together with them.

"Is there anything we could help?" Sir Slaine could not force the man to join them as he already offered a lot of his help.

"Nothing, just take care of this Dreadnaught-Class Grayback..."

That's right, Aeolia has offered them to use this battleship against the invaders. The old man even hinted that this thing could fly and reach the stars which astounded the Grand Arcanist. He didn't know how this thing works but he fully trusts this living legend.

"This young man should know how to operate this thing... You can seek his assistance at that time." Aeolia said as he smiled at Wallace.

Slaine nodded at that but most importantly, he wanted to ask him how will they bring this outside? However, before he could ask the question, he realized that it may be insulting to his intelligence to ask such an obvious question. Sir Aeolia must've his preparations already.

They went quiet for a moment as everyone seems to have mentioned all their concerns. Well, Wallace was waiting for this to ask another question not related to the invasion stuff.

"Sir, two people were sent here deep within this tower and we rescued them. I'm concerned if there was another organization that was also based in the southern continent and was actually using this place as their base of operation."

"Two people?"

"Yes, a man and a woman. They were probably sent here weeks ago..."

"Oh? Those two..."

"Do you know them, Sir? Can you tell me how did they end up here?"

Aeolia didn't answer immediately as he carefully thought.

"Well, they seem to have used one of the failed artifacts made from the body parts of a Celestial. There were several artifacts I made that would allow me to be transported in different locations. They arrived here using one. I don't think they are aware of it as it seems."

Wallace carefully analyzed this revelation as he suddenly had an idea.

"Did you make the Sealed Mana Artifacts?"

"Sealed Mana Artifacts?"

"Oh, I mean mana artifacts made from the body parts of a Celestial Being, that's what we called them..."

"I see... You are calling them "sealed", huh... Correct, I made a few but I'm not sure whether other practitioners followed my steps."

'Urgh... I don't think that there would be another magician who would dare to attack a Celestial just to make those artifacts.'

Wallace thought as he felt that it would be too absurd to think that someone could fight such a powerful existence.

"That makes sense... So it seems that you were capable of monitoring this tower from everywhere?"

"Not really... I can only sense the presence of those who entered the tower. After a day or two, I would no longer sense their presence as their mana would start to get corrupted..."

Wallace heard the word corrupted as he suddenly perked up. He wanted to learn more about this thing.

"Don't worry. As soon as you entered that metal door, you were safe from the corruption."
