Lucifer's Descendant System

Chapter 162 Armor

Noah finally felt that the battle was getting to the level he wanted as he watched what was going on through the door of the room where the Boss was staying. Unfortunately three imps died while trying to injure the unicorn to bring down the knight, but after the death of these imps and that of the skinny man who was not being protected by any of the imps, the unicorn finally gave in after having received so many attacks.

Even though Noah didn't have much in Thomas's favor, he had to admit that the young man was skilled. Noah believed he was a warrior, just like the other leaders he had met, but this was not the case, since Thomas was an archer, and a very good one at that.

Whenever an imp made a cut on the unicorn, a sure-fire arrow from Thomas hit that spot, showing that his likely several years of training as an archer for a wealthy family were not in vain, and showing that he really deserved his place as leader of the group. Apparently he only decided to act as an archer after Noah decided to leave the group, maybe before that he was just going through the Fortress as a training ground. But with the death toll steadily increasing, he apparently had to move to his main position.

Thomas's other friends were just a little above average, while another person who caught Noah's eye was Amber, who with the thin sword she was carrying around her waist, as if dancing had managed to dodge the Boss's deadliest attacks despite the high speed of which the monsters were moving.

Apparently her attacks were not as strong as the attacks caused by a large heavy sword, but as she was constantly attacking, attacks at one point started to take effect.

Even though the show was very beautiful to watch from the side, Noah was losing patience. One more imp had just died, totaling four. If it continued this way, it would be even more difficult to deal with the Boss since Noah had no monsters to be absorbed to allow him to continue reviving the imps.

The imps were the biggest damage dealers in the battle; without them, the pace would slow down even more, reducing by a large margin the time spent to eliminate both Bosses.

They might be able to handle the rest on their own, but even more imps would have to die, and without the energy to revive them, Noah would become a weak and fragile target for an even more sinister enemy than the Boss: the humans.

So ready to end this, Noah conjured a [Flame Dagger] in each hand, expending a large amount of the energy he had left, and teleported behind the armored knight.

The armor was very well built, but unfortunately for the monster, Noah's weapon was special. It wasn't solid like normal weapons, but it was a firearm, so as soon as the dagger touched the Boss's armor, Noah controlled it, and part of the flame began to enter the cracks in the armor.

Unfortunately, only a small part of each dagger managed to penetrate the Boss's armor, but that was enough.

The Boss felt a strange flame entering his armor, and with a cry of anger, he tried to turn hard to attack whoever had passed through his defenses. But with a satisfied expression, Noah teleported to be among the Blessed Ones who were relatively close and started to command the imps in a more efficient way than letting them decide for themselves which strategy to use.

The imp with [Fire Claws] was ordered to stay out of the battle, much to his surprise and curiosity. He did not understand why his master had taken him out of the fun, thinking at that point that he might have done something wrong. But when he got to Noah's side, the boy put his hand on his head and said through the mental link that he had done well, causing the imp to open a satisfied smile from the praise of his master himself, which Noah still thought very much cute, but it caused a shiver down the spine of the Blessed who had happened to look at this scene.

Noah's flames that had infiltrated the Boss's armor were eating away at his flame skeleton at a slow speed, but Noah's energy being slowly recovered was showing him that it was truly destroying the Boss no matter how much the Boss might not have noticed it. However, it demonstrated to be in pain beyond a small amount as it let out a cry and continued to attack the Blessed, still with the same agility as before.

But the most frightening of all this was the expression of the Blessed when they saw Noah appearing and disappearing from a place instantly with apparently a Space Blessing, which was already so rare to find, even more so in this young man who seemed more and more mysterious each time he did something.

Thomas and his friends were shocked. They thought Noah, in fact, was just a Blessed weakling who depended on the imps to be more powerful and feel more imposing, but who would have guessed that he was this powerful himself? Instinctively Ethan swallowed, wondering what he would do if Noah were to teleport behind him with that fire dagger.

Noah was tired of staying in this Fortress, and he just wanted to get it over with and send these Blessed Ones away while he took the spoils.

And just as he imagined, the [Hell Flames] were much more powerful than any other type of flame, taking control of the Boss's flame skeleton within a few minutes, before making the big armor fall to the ground while the skeleton melted into ashes.

In the meantime, one more imp had died, while a Blessed woman had been seriously injured but would still survive if she received medical treatment in a short time.

The Blessed Ones looked at this outcome and were a little lost. They were prepared to fight for much longer, to see more and more people die, but who knew that just a few minutes after Noah teleported behind him, the Boss would fall dead on the ground? What was in that dagger? If he wanted, could he have killed the Boss from the start?

Thinking about it made the Blessed become a little worried; they realized that those who died were just because the imps didn't bother to help, just letting them die, and these people were exactly the people who never had good attitudes towards Noah. That is, they died because he wanted them to die. If he wanted, apparently he could just end the Fortress from the start, but he just waited for these people to die to the Boss.

Noah, of course, had no idea of the confusion these people had developed. He wouldn't be able to teleport behind the Boss if he was still on top of the unicorn running at such a high speed, but it's not like he was going to explain it to them either.

A familiar black portal appeared on the floor, rising as it released a very inviting purple plasma for the Blessed, specifically for the woman who received the serious wound, who without thinking twice, ran to the other side, hoping that some government Blessed would help her immediately once she crossed.

Noah walked calmly to the Boss's corpse and realized that his armor was very lightly damaged. Only a few small parts had been scratched, but that did not compromise its effectiveness at all.

Seeing Noah standing next to the knight, the Blessed Ones seemed to want to say something, but when the surviving imps gathered beside him, clearly delimiting a territory, they hesitated and finally gave in before crossing the portal without saying a single word.

Even Thomas looked at the knight's corpse with a little greed, as he knew very well the price that armor as intact as that would be outside the Fortress; probably even Blessed Rank B would be willing to spend a great deal of fortune to buy something like that, let alone Blessed Rank C.

Blessed Rank D like themselves, on the other hand, could not even dream of having something so valuable. But that just meant that they were going to keep the large amount of money that the armor sale would give them, which was already a very good thing.

This boss's armor was very rare among the Blessed. For being so resistant, it was necessary to damage it by a lot, often even to destroy the armor completely in order to kill the Boss, but because of Noah, during this battle they had managed to kill the Boss with only a few scratches on it, which was wonderful news.

Unfortunately for them, just as Noah was the main man responsible for getting the armor intact, he had also openly taken the armor for himself by approaching that and placing the imps to guard the perimeter so that no one approached.

This repelled even Thomas: who left the Fortress with a bitter taste in his mouth, not satisfied with having to hand over such a valuable prize to someone else, not to mention a person he didn't like.

Amber left with a satisfied smile on her face. She knew it was entirely because of Noah that the Fortress had been so easy so she thought it had been fair to give him the armor.

Noah, on the other hand, had thrown the thought of armor to the corner for now, since his gaze was on something that could potentially be far more valuable... the unicorn.
